The first law of thermodynamics makes the 335D the winner by a huge margin. Diesels are the future people, not hybrids. We just need to exploit every ounce of power it cam offer. Like we did with petrol engines with F1 racing.
well, i've had that 335d remapped, and now i got 335i jb4 OMG the diesel is A LOT slower than my i version. 335i JB4 with 102 octane is insane.. goes 300+ on gps
yeah the 335d needed to beg the 335i owner for a cars length at the start in other to avoid assrape, and the 335i caught up and won,can people see that??????????
@celicafreakster I belive that was because the driver of the D reacted a bit quicker off the line, probably not a handout, but certanly not because of the torque advantage... you know, the wtq advantage (as in actual torque at the driven wheels) could go either way in the lower gears and especially in first gear launches like this, so the "extra torque" is absolutely meaningless. but the whp/hp stays the same through every gear ratio and that alone proves you are TOTALLY WRONG.
@skepar Well from experience in launching cars, high revving cars will either bog due to lack of torque or wheel spin due to the hp in the higher revs. My old 330d was way more rapid from standstill than my old type r. My current R1 makes me smile most though. Im no pro though. Just liking fast stuff!
Youtube a guy called "hotrod" - his 335i videos are amazing. Youtube "hotrod 335i" and you will see how he accellerates to 60mph in 3.8 seconds... 11 second quatre miles and 60mph-130mph in 7 seconds!!!
standard 35i is quicker than standard 35d !!!!!!!!!!!!! I've raced my 35i a few times with 35d and there was always a difference of about 5-8 metres accelerating to 200 km/h
@ZXRaziel remember that 35i is turbocharged and 35d is a turbodiesel. If petrol is turbocharged it winns with turbodiesel. Thats why all new BMW engines are turbocharged :)
Still nothing compared to 420 at the wheels. This is a dms tuned 335i.... It only has 400bhp.... Thats at the crank.... Look up jb3 tunes for real 335i performance. Watch the 335i vs m3 videos,,,, or even 355i vs 911 gt3 or 335i 0-60 in 3.8 seconds. 341 bhp... lol... thats like 300 at the wheels.
iMoney doesnt matter,,, it's power.... soething which the diesel lacks... the diesel is not tunable..... it has torque but no ability to produce enough hp with any tune. Leave the diesels for the grandpas who cant afford to run a petrol
@philyfree The 335D does have power. 286Bhp standard, 350Bhp tuned. It also has a very flat power curve meaning that the average power over the rev range is equal to the average power of the 335i, hence why the cars were the same speed even though the 335i has more PEAK power. It's average power that counts.
was the 335i manual?

You just show how ignorant you are about diesels ulises.

@Dramquart I am sorry to contradict you but diesel are slower than gasoline cars so your theory is wrong !!

How much torque can the original auto tranny take?
Dramquart 6 months ago
It may be a tad slower but it's a hell of a lot more fuel efficient while doing it. So by physic's standards the D wins.

@kay19833 Description says "Best of the day for the cars", 13.2 (335D) and 13.3 (335i)... 0.1s is not assrape.

Who won xD? Both cars did same time and I didn't see lights of the winner at end xD

Both Posted 13.3@106. The 335d just pipped the win on this run.
Look at the finish line and both cars times come up together at the same time.
