  • My grandfather's last request was for the family to sing this to him in his final days. This song reminds me so much of his life. Maybe he intended for that :\ lol oh well love this song

  • very harmonious.... very well balanced.

  • Always a great favourite in our church. Blessings to you all.

From Dennis and friends - Sutton Gospel Church, Surrey UK.

  • @Mervyn12104 Yes, it is a most wonderful hymn. Thank you for stopping by, Dennis, and for your blessings. May our Lord bless you and the brethren at Sutton Gospel Church.

  • this is a beautiful song, and my heart sings just listening to it,... i have shivers, and i am praising God.... Hallelujah! thank you very much... i am 18, and i am so glad God is helping me realize the TRUE Christian music..

  • @angelvaleria1612 What a blessing to hear your words, Valeria...very encouraging. Thank you for sharing your thoughts here this day. May the peace of our Lord be with you.

  • ganda

  • What is sung and performed in church services nowadays pales in comparison to this. This is the real thing.

  • I was saved in a conservative atmosphere. How can I leave the Christian hymns and exchange it with rock praise music. Praise the Lord.

  • Thank you!

  • @walkcordatus You are very welcome. May our Lord bless you.

  • Of all the many versions of this beautiful hymn, that I have listened to on YouTube, I like this best... Thank You!

  • @PrinceBooth Well, that is very encouraging to hear. Thank you for leaving your comment.

  • thank you this is beauttiful, it is my favorite hymn.

  • @webriter60 You are most welcome. Glad you found it a blessing.

  • Incredibly Excellent hymn

  • I'm not sure if I qualify as "youth" anymore, I am in my mid-twenties. Rest assured though, I and several of my friends love the depth found in hymn lyrics. I can't wait to see what worship will be like in heaven. Can you imagine the music, lyrics, and chiors there?

  • How wonderful it would be to have the youth of today to care more for the words of music than the carnal pleasing beats and rhythms.

Hymns aren't only beautiful and peaceful in melody but they offer a great theological message of life and reality.

  • @reformedman I couldn't agree with you more but let's not forget that there are many young believers who love the Lord as well. I know quite a few. I'm one of them. ^^ Praise the Lord.

  • @reformedman I do sir. I'm turning 16 in 2 days. I love Christian Hymns, and my pap is a preacher. All of this time I thought I was going to join the Army. Last night I "woke up". This world is coming to an end fast and there are billions out there that need our help! I need to give my life to the Lord, it's the least I could do. I don't care if people make fun of me, so be it.

  • @BradleyBrantner I used to be an evangelical Christian minister. Once you look at the evidence against Christ fairly and honestly for yourself without the psychological confines of your upbringing, you will easily admit that Christ was a myth. You owe it to yourself as a person of value to be fair to yourself and look at the other side HONESTLY. You have nothing to lose and true freedom and knowledge to gain. Trust me, I am not 50 years old and was EXACTLY where you are now at one time.

  • @robertjohnson487 That is totally bogus. If you examined the evidence in a fair unbiased way, you would come to the conclusion that Christ is real. Don't discourage the young man. One reason I know he is real is because of what he has done and continues to do in my life. When the treatment of choice based on Hinduism almost destroyed me. He has kept me from suicide. And brought me out of the darkest pit of despair by His love and care.

  • @reformedman The old hymns are great, but so is a lot of the current Christian music. Many of them are great ways to worship God and receive a message. I grew up singing old hymns, but a blanket statement that the beat makes the music carnal is a reflection of ignorance. I really enjoy some of today's music and if brings the young people to church without compromising the gospel, go for it.

  • @Evangeline220 I too listen to some contemporary Christian music and agree with your thought regarding "the beat." However, we are not to lure or persuade folks to church by appealing to their tastes in music or any other worldly desire. We must follow the New Testament pattern, which as the apostle Paul said, is to "preach Christ crucified"(1 Cor 1:23). By God's grace alone, some will hear and will desire church fellowship. All else is religious commercialism.

    Thanks for sharing your thoughts

  • @stack45ny I look back at the OT where music was sung and played by instruments and dancing. These were not outlawed by Christ. Paul made a reference that he would be all things to all people. i sing in the choir of a mega church where excellence both in the music but in our lives outside the church are stressed. Inspite of being disabled, I make every effort to go to rehearsals and when we sing for the church services, but it is an opportunity for me to worship and then lead in worship.

  • @stack45ny We sing a combination of music much of it contemporary that leads me into a glorious time of worship.

  • These old hymns are priceless; they take the child of God to the very throne room of heaven.
