It has the same concept as dempsey roll but the original dempsey roll are much likely Huge swings with a head movement.. While this one is more on the body movement plus good left and rights. It's like nonito's own version of demspey roll. Another thing, this one focuses in speed. This will only be effective if your opponent can't keep up in your speed because if your opponent can keep up, he'll land you a good counter...

Watch the actual video taken in 1920 and if you don't know why this is called dempsey roll then you need to learn more about boxing.

I do not think that switching styles between punches is a dempsey roll. I believe Dempsey Rolling is where one ducks his head and torso side to side in a figure-eight-esque motion. It's mainly an evasive move but the one time I've seen Jack Dempsey doing it he threw hooks at the same time.

Though, what this boxer did seems to be extremely effective, and the poster's description makes it sound like an efficient move.
