  • Nice review I got one of these about a month ago and have run 300 rounds through it so far with no issues.

  • This gun reminds me of the Kel'Tec somewhat.I'm from Fl. and would like to support homegrown firearms as these co.'s employ and create revenue in my state as does Taurus and Heritage. You say the Kel-Tec equal isn't as good a gun but is the Diamondback DB9 as good?

  • oh wait... 9lb trigger? That might kill it for me. OOP just got to the part of the front sight popping off. Buuut 9ft on concrete. I'll let that pass. You like it better than the P11 but how does it stack to the PF9? I carry a PF9 all day everyday. 3 more rounds is good but that also equates to size and weight and it only takes a little increase for a guy with my build to notice a major difference. What's your take there?

Great vid. Looking toward to your response.

  • @ThatDudeSirraj

FWIW. I saw one of these today and had a chance to handle it and pull the trigger. It's a REALLY nice gun. If I had the money on me at the time I would have been tempted very much to get it. The 9lb trigger is so smooth the weight is not an issue. Sights are very nice too and it is very light. It's on my list now as a possible replacement for my Para P-14 (heany and large).

  • @Alpine91901 Worth alot buddy. Thanks for the input :) I'm keeping my eyes peeled for them. Definitely would like to put my prints on one and check it out.

  • Hey whoa... is that a true DA too? Second strike capable? Im only 6min so you might answer this but that is great

  • Dude your beard is weapons grade. Nice review.

  • How does it handle +P?

  • nice video, would be better with a few shots fired. might sub :)

  • CZ-82 is better in almost every way (and 2/3 the price, too)

  • sold!

  • Great review, Thank you.

    Subbed

    Take care and be safe.

  • The gun is absolutely junk to shoot. Every time I fire a round with my buddies cpx, with proper handgun grip, the rear knuckle of my right hand hits, and enables the safety. Every other person we let shoot, including a law enforcement officer at the range had that same problem. Its not ergonomic at all, and tears your hand up. It actually cut a guys knuckle (the one that hits around the safety). Would never trust this thing in a concealed carry protection situation for more than 1 shot.

  • @joe735 thats a CPX-1, not a CPX-2. The CPX-2 has no safety. I myself have the CPX-1 and Sccy will send you a free safety removal kit free of charge as part of the warranty so your complain really isnt warranted.

  • @VonSpyder Is it a safety removal, or the safety "locked" into the fire position kit? If the latter, then that still makes it hell to shoot with the safety still digging into your hand, along with all the other unnecessary edges that seem to catch, and scratch.

  • glorified keltec P11

  • @shawnsent I promise you the CPX-2 (and the CPX-1 as well which I have) are much better quality and fell much better to fire than the kel-tec p11.

  • Hey nice channel like the xplaing things im on the market buy a new gun and i was looking tourus kel tec and the sccy and i got a cross with ur video i got ques? Can i fire + p with the sccy and how bad is the reccoil im usto fire my subnose 357 mag and hear pepz saing wow is so hard for the hand not a gun for target but have put 300 round and is ok is fun day for me so can u hit me and tell me if i shuld buy the sccy insted of the taurus or kel tec

  • Awesome review! I bought this gun today.

  • Great vid.Just got one in the shop today. Should be a great seller. P.S. Nice ring....Brother.

  • Hey Brother, great review and more so I love the ring. I found one of those some years ago in a rubbish pile. Keep up the good work. PM E. Payne, 33rd

  • did you know sccy has this video on their website?thats a compliment to this great vid..sccy needs to pay you!

  • @GNut1980 Yeah, I know. A couple of days after it was posted, they emailed asking me for permission to post it on their site. Also, I don't get paid for my reviews, nor will I ever ask to be. I believe when someone is a paid reviewer (whether they are paid in money or products), they have motivation to be less than brutally honest, or to sugarcoat issues with the product they are reviewing. I want people to watch my videos and know for sure I'm telling the truth as I see it.

  • @guntorturetests good point..but you have a great channel sir!! you have now sold me on the sccy!! thanks! next gunshow i will be looking for this model

  • good vid..i guess sccy finally fixed the bugs..i have always wanted one of these for an extra 9mm but was scared because of all the previous complaints..i like these more than the p11...will look into this now..thanks

  • Thank you for this GREAT video! My sister is buying one now, and I will be buying one in the future, or hers if she doesn't like it (I doubt it).

Keep up the honest, awesome reviews!

  • Great Video , Got me interested now,,hmm ,like the Sccy. 9mm ,in pocket ,lifetime warranty,,under 300$ ,how could i go wrong . I was lookn at the s7w m&p 9c and the bodyguard too. Any advice , i trust your judgment. you seem to know what your talkn about, the glock ape ran says so. Thanks.

  • slide locks on last shot ? Mag Flat floor plates? not a fan of finger extensions

My PF9 is nothing but a mess and I am looking to replace

  • Great video...could have shown the firing of the gun and explained the slide rails new material that should help a lot with premature wear.

  • How does it compare to a pf9 or an lc9?

  • @cfeder45

I was just thinking that too, I'd love to know myself, especially size/weight comparisons.

  • Good Video, I needed the info. I was looking to buy one. Thanks!

  • I watched this video because I had never even heard of this pistol. After watching, I feel fully informed. It sounds like an awesome choice for carry purposes, and being a resident of Florida i'd like to support small businesses. Thanks, good video.

  • Essentially, it's a reworked Kel-Tec P11 - different grip, slide stop, and materials (stainless being a plus), but otherwise essentially the same gun. If it proves to be a marked improvement over the CPX-1 in terms of reliability, then this would be an awesome deal for anyone, and one of 'em just might wind up in my collection. Otherwise, I'll be happy to stick with my tried-and-true old-school P11 with its decades-long track record.

  • I bought one of these a few weeks ago. Shot about 20 rounds of American Eagle through it and it was fine. Just got back from the range. Was using S&B and it wouldn't eject. Kept hitting the HUGE mag release. The mag release eventually fell out and the thing is jammed shut with a spent round in it. I think I will be selling this and buy a Ruger SR9c, a much better gun for $100 more.

  • @guntorturetests

I'll tell you what I got one of these joys for 288 at my local gun shop in southeast VA, I Normally shoot a Sig P226 For my job. But I got this gun for my wife/me for family defence. The CPX-2 I got was a gen 2 the mag drop button is shorter the first 50 rounds stayed centermass. The kick is almost double then a sig p226. But for almost 1/4 of the cost. This gun blows all of the heavy hi points out of the water. I will say mine jumps the rounds high my rear aim is off maybe

  • @emkivi82 Really? You won't trust another word from me because I appreciate Hi-Points for what they are? Is that why you added this video to one of your playlists on your account? Because you don't trust me?

Also, spelling, punctuation, and grammar are your friends, and using them correctly will see you get taken much more seriously when you rage on the internet. Try it some time.

  • @emkivi82 dude really! my spelling is off myself but you just showed your true colors. But maybe you can't see red a blue wiggly lines under you text. Sorry your colored blind.

  • I have found that with my Gen 1 ,CPX-1, that it is an oil lover...if you don't keep it clean and oiled, it will gauld the slide rails quickly. I keep mine oiled well and have no problems with this problem.

I would like to see the trigger pull lowered from 9 lbs to 5lbs...this would make staying on target much easier.

  • @emkivi82 me too. some people tell me why buy an xd jus buy a highpoint its jus as good... -_- ok. *turn around and walks out*

  • I bought one for my girlfriend a few months ago. Only thing i noticed was it had a bit of cycling problems when it was brand new but now it fires just fine.

  • To be clear, SCCY has completely redesigned their pistol. The is a Generation 2 pistol. There were issues with the Gen 1 pistols.

The "Carbon Steel" pistol that is mentioned in the video is only referring to the color. All SCCY guns are made out of Tempered S. S.

I had a Gen 1 and now have a Gen 2 and there is a night and day difference in quality..

SCCY has a Lifetime Warranty that follows the gun not the owner and they back the gun 100% and have an excellent customer service dept.

  • @HootmonHarry From Corey at SCCY, June 2011: "SCCY has just released a new version of the CPX-1 and CPX-2 in Carbon Steel. The ONLY difference in these models is that the barrel and slide are carbon instead of stainless therefore bringing the material cost down."

  • hello brutha thanks for the interview i just brought one from the gunnery gun show georgia and it was only 275 for the two tone iam cleaning it now to go and shoot it i chose this over the keltec and i love the way it feels in my hand thanks again great little cc weapon!!!!!!!!!

  • I have A CPX-1. Does anyone know were I can purchase a magizine with a magizine base?

  • very helpful video for me. I have the model CPX, about a year now, and needed better instructions on cleaning/disassembly. Thanks for showing that.

  • Thanks for the informative review. I've been debating on getting a couple of these to sell at my shop.

  • Clay pigeons at 25 yards? Please....... My brand new Generation 2 shoots 10" high at 10 yards! The factory said that no lower rear sight is available! Other than the very poor vertical accuracy, the pistol seems like a good design although the magazine has to be bumped in with the palm of the hand to lock into position. Doesn't take much to accidently bump the magazine release and have the mag drop out. Your learn to prevent that from happening. Good CCW gun otherwise.

  • so it's a 9mm Para the size and weight of a .380? It definitely has the looks of a Kel - ehm, I mean Ruger 380...

  • @TheHiddenPart Essentially, yes. It's about the weight of a similar sized .380, with less felt recoil. More power, less felt recoil. That's a win-win in my book.

  • Hi IronChin,

Do you have a suggestion for a pocket .380 whose trigger is not a long double-action? My wife has a Sig p238 with a great trigger, but I don't want to spend another $550 just for a backup for myself.

    Keep up the good work!

  • I owned one for 7 days. It was a piece of junk. lol the trigger feels like a toy. I took it out to test fire it, and it would not even load a round in the chamber.

  • I have met Joe Roebuck. What an arrogant ASSHOLE!!!

  • @TheGlamourgal88 And you felt the need to come on MY channel and say this why? My experience with Joe has been exactly the opposite, but that's not the point. If you have a problem with Joe, post it on their forums, not on my channel. Thanks for watching.

  • @guntorturetests how is the accuracy on this gun, does it shoot high or low when shooting in a proper stance and holding with a proper grip? I am thinking of purchashing.

  • @TheGlamourgal88 I work for Joe Roebuck and I am proud to say so. Joe is a great boss and takes pride in his company & he values his employees. When Joe is out & about in public he does not share w/ others what he even does for a living. It's not polite to blast someone when you really don't know them.

  • Looks like all they did was copy the Kel Tec P11.

  • hey rich for the life of me I cannot get myc9 9mm to shoot accurate i polished the feed ramp tweeked the mag that helped with the feeding, but as far as getting any groups at any range seems to be impossible its like it has a mind of its own. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

  • @jjfronek11 What kind of distance are we talking? Past 25 yards?

  • @guntorturetests Well,we started @25yds adjusted sites, moved up to 15yds gun shot far right and far left ,no grouping adjusted sites again moved up to about 20 feet from the target bullets were still straying from right to left barely hitting the target . Could there be a break in period ? All in all we fired 500 rnds whitebox winchester

  • @jjfronek11 The problem isn't the gun, unless the barrel has somehow gotten loose on the frame. Remember, the C9 is a direct blowback gun, which means the barrel never moves. From the sound of it, the problem is your shooting. You're either pushing the gun left, or pulling it right, instead of pulling the trigger straight back. Have a look at this PDF to see what I mean. wwwDOTtargetshooting.ca/docs/grp-analysis.pdf

  • @guntorturetests myself, along 2 other veterans fired the weapon .The triggger mechanizem seems to be a bit wobbley,We figured it was because it was just a cheap gun, thanks for the link, keep up the good videos

  • @jjfronek11 Call Hi-Point and get a RMA number. They'll most likely just end up replacing the entire pistol for you.

  • @guntorturetests I contacted them but unfortunately, polishing a feed ramp voids the warrenty and i also did some polishing on the inside of the upper and the doll head trying to get the weapon to smooth out im pretty sure somethins up with the trigger mech ,i guess ill just take it apart and see whats up. thanks rich

  • @guntorturetests

its not a direct blowback, its a tilt barrel locked breach ! 9mm too much psi for direct blowback

  • @tisiluca Yes, the Hi-Point C9 (the gun myself and jjfronek11 were discussing above) IS a direct blowback gun. I never said the SCCY CPX-2 is a direct blowback pistol. Pay attention.

  • @guntorturetests sorry

  • @guntorturetests i have a question, i have a cpx-1 and for some reason the last round of the mag got stuck in the chamber so is that normal or it going to break my gun if i shoot it

  • @GuardianDemonX Did this happen just once, or does it happen regularly? Also, I want to make sure I understand what happened. Are you saying that after firing the last round in a mag, that the case is now stuck in the chamber?

  • @guntorturetests i load only one round in the mag and pull the slide, but the slide doesnt close all the way, so is that normal ? im mean when i load 2 bullet or more it does cose all the way, but when it only one bullet it doesnt, try and put only one bullet in to the mag and pull the slide and u see it just stuck there

  • In my opinion, SCCY has the best customer service around, not to mention a really great gun..

  • yeah but can you mount an ar-15 stock to it?
