I met Billy a time or two. I use to fish with Dutch Savage who knew Billy well, and helped him break in.
Haynes was very unstable. He made numerous bad choices. He could have been a legit opponent for for Ric Flair. Far better than Luger. He just screwed the pooch to many times. Promoters stopped trusting him.

I loved him in Don Owen Promotions in the days of Portland Wrestling. I really marked out for him. He tried to take short cuts to the top and made some horrible decisions (anyone remember his OWF?), messing over good people in the process. Billy has a screw loose.
He could have been another Hulk Hogan or Rock. Billy Jack screwed Billy Jack.
