I've read much of the sources you have. The DNA is the most compelling arguement. There are even old Macedonian colonies in Pakistan that share this Genotype. This is about modern politics and sovereignty issues. The point is Greece and Macedon have both changed in the few thousand years since Alexander. Patoi means dialect, and considering that it is a Greek word you should get a clue. Both Greece and Macedon have been invaded by many peoples from the Slavs to the Avars (not to mention the Turks), so when you make a foolish claim that one has purer blood than the rest you are full of it. Even Alexander took grief for being only half Macedonian. I am Irish/American and I have no horse in this race. This has more to do with modern politics and sovereignty than anything else. Macedonians spoke a patoi of Greek, and incorporated Greek culture, but most were not Greek (particularly the northern ones). Philip of Macedon developed a nation that disregarded those thin loyalties. Alexander tried to go even further. Consider how he tried to incorporate Persian culture.

There did not exist something like "Greek" back then, you could only talk about Greek dialects.The most well spread accent was Dorian followed by Ionian (whose small part was Attic), Aeolian, Arcadian and these were broken down to more localised dialects.
Out of all these, back in those days Dorian was considered as a more proper form of Greek and Macedonian was merely just another Greek dialect related to Dorian spoken in south Greece...

Macedonians remained around the holy mountain of Olympus devided in their regions and in relative isolation, thus remained relatively backwards. They were not the only. Epirots (Dodone for example?), Aetolians, Akarnanians (Delphi for example?), Helians (Olympia for example?)... all these people were lacking somehow in the 5t century and most of them caught up in the 4th like Macedonians.

Anyone who says Macedonia isn't Greek clearly hasn't done enough studying. There is every bit of evidence that Macedonia was Greek. First, they spoke the Dorian dialect of ancient Greek. Second, they worshipped Greek gods. Third, they participated in the olympic games which only Greeks were allowed to attend. Fourth, Macedonia although being considered barbaric among other Greeks was still considered a Greek kingdom.
