  • Good cover, but John Boutte's version now is the definitive version.

"12 feet of water in the streets of the lower nine"

  • This may be the most beautiful version of this song I've ever heard. It would be even better without the whooshes.

  • Is there an unedited version of this song without the noises and video?

  • @orvgg - The song is on Howard's CD called "A Portrait Of Howard" check out Amazon

  • Great Post.....this guy can flat sing....

    Bob in WBR Parish

    God help our coast

  • One of my favourite songs. Well done Randy Newman and well done Howard Tate!

  • i have never heard this version of this song. but it has to be the best one by far.

  • I heard many people song this song before, however this version is not only the best, the other's don't even come close. Howard is truly one of the last great soul singers remaining. If you are a fan of Howard's also check out his new CD Blue Day, you will love it. Howard should be a household name. A++++++++++++++++++++++ for the one responsible for putting this video out.

  • Beautiful version!

  • The video is A+. Howard's version of the song is A++++.

  • George W. Bush has failed the American people not just during Katrina but in the rebuilding of New Orleans. We must never, never forget this. Bless John Edwards and Jimmy Carterfor their continuing efforts on behalf of the people of New Orleans.

  • fantastic......anyone know if he's touring the uk soon ?

  • My favorite singer of all time, and not enough of his music yet, so sing on, Mr. Tate! This is good stuff!!

  • This is a powerful video! I enjoyed the creativity of this video. Howard Tate is the "Truth" I've seen him perform live in Italy, and he is awesome, a true Soul Singer who's music will live on forever. Maybe this video will inspire the government to do more for the victim's of Hurricane Katrina. Great work once again.

  • Howard Tate should be a household name.

    The man is a legend.

  • @robbell RIP, Howard! What a voice!

  • Howard Tate's voice stirs your soul. Combind that with the visual images and this is a very powerful work. Change Coolidge to Bush and train to plane and it's today.

  • Touching. I hope this story will eventually have a happy ending
