You seem to bring some sanity to this world that today's ,(ARTISTS?) with their nonsensical lyric, filled with hate and violence. I love to hear someone sing about LOVE and hope and the redemption of each as you do int this song. Thanks Tony Bennett for the GOOD LIFE and so many other songs that are inspiring and very pleasant and very enjoyable to listen too.

My brother is in London studying on a music course for professional guitar and I'm still at school. My grandfather always wanted me to succeed in life and the last conversation I shared with him was when I got an award for trying hard and achieving good grades in english. I adored my grandfather so here's to the good life ;)

  • No one can sing this song with the emphasis and meaning that Tony puts into it; listen to the words, it has a moral teaching in it! St. Thomas has written about the good life that all men seek; Tony lives it and is able to sing about it too, what God given grace and good fortune! Bless you Tony!

  • I will never kiss the good life good-bye!

  • @bugsbunnybuddy The good life. For me it was between six months and eleven years. It took place in the "Deep South", the only place "deeper" was the hintherlands of Mississippi. I was love and cherished, instructed and chastised. I had plenty of food to eat and "rags" to wear and I didn't know that I was poor. I thought that my my grandfather was my poppa and his wife was my darling Momma. I had to kiss the good life 'bye. I grew up.

  • Tony is not just a great singer. He is a realtop entertainer and is still thrilling a younger generation with his talent. This song epitomises his wonderful repetoire. Thanks for posting this.

  • This song was featured in a 1962 foreign film "Seven Deadly Sins." It sounded to me like a song from a stage play when I first heard it when it was sung by Tony Bennett. And now I wonder if it was in the 2008 movie "The Good Life?" Anyone know?

  • One of the greatest singers of our time. Even Frank Sinatra (my favorite) said the same thing. I listen to Frank and Tony daily.

  • Tony has NEVER seemed to be in competition with other singers. He just loves great music, and if anybody from Judy Garland and Jack Jones to Rosemary Clooney and Frank Sinatra can help him make it, so much the better:) --

  • a perfect description!

  • Jerry Vale and Jimmy Roselli are both two GREAT singers that could sing Darin under the table. They belong in the class with Bennett and Sinatra. Como could sing too; ditto Damone. Darin was not really quite in their class. Frankie Laine and Don cornell were better too!
