  • True art, sadly lacking in music these days. Anyone that feels this is a funny song or overly dramatic doesn't know art. You're forgiven.

  • well done

  • hello! i'd like to tell me where i could find the piano partiture for this song. i'd like to learn to play it!

    thanx :)

  • I first discovered this song on a silly compilation called "Music For Vampires". It was a hidden track. I apologise to any Bauhaus fans out there, but the song made me laugh my balls off. I found the lyrics overly dramatic and whiny and Peter Murphy's vocals were perhaps the worst he'd ever recorded. He sounds drunk. Bauhaus has some great music, but this one is self-pitying proto-Emo Goth cheese.

  • if you go to hell i'll buy you a drink YAY!

  • Simplesmente lindo!

  • I swear I will hang myself to this song LOL !!!!

  • Bellissima!

  • This song and the "Hurt" from Nne inch Nails are provavly the most beatifull songs in the world

  • Thats what I call poetry ...........beautiful x

  • I sing this song to my mom.

  • I accidentally clicked the dislike button 8 times. We can happily revert it back to 0 dislikes, in essence.

  • Guys 18 years listening to this stuff... There's so much out there... Fuck mainstream go look for the real music!!!

  • this is beautiful. bauhaus are the best band there could ever be.

  • this was amazing Jon, you looked too cute in this too btw :)

  • @keithzworld aww thank you so much babe, I love you

  • I just got into these guys recently, and this song is a real highlight.

  • im laughing

  • This takes me back a quarter of a century to my time with my first girlfriend - forever snowy,cold,happy,bitter-sweet and the promise of eternal happiness! - thank you x

  • Great music choice for your terrific art work.

  • excellent bauhaus

  • Velvet sound?

  • this sounds like th perfect ending to a movie

  • This is such a wonderful song; it was on the B-side of the 12" single of Telegram Sam with another great song called Rosegarden funeral of sores;p Bauhaus fans will of course be familiar with it.

  • i have loved this since i was at high school i,m now 43 and still love it

  • @r8ltl Same here; it reminds me slightly of Bowies' "The Bewlay Brothers" which is another beautiful and touching song.

  • I like the debossed bird drawing the most. Very nice.

  • Such silly lyrics though - pixies and counts, ffs.

  • Good song for me to listen to bout now.

  • More then 18 years (and tears) iv'e been carring this song in my heart..

    Amayzing song,one of a kind.

  • @talmilan I can relate. However, my wife rescued me. Don't give up.

  • 0:27 este guey que?

  • if i had enough i'd give you a million dollars for this work of art

  • Hey this kids art kinda reminds me of my own when i was young. But know my art art is morbid and i guess a little creepy?

  • This was the first song I had ever heard with a "swear word" in it. I had a friend back in high school who was big time into Bauhaus and I remember hearing this song for the first time back in the late 80s and I was like, "Dude, did he just say shit." Man, the innocence of those days.

  • @jason93446 LOL!

Yeah, I remember the first time I heard a swearword in a song... second grade, a friend of mine's older brother was listening to Marilyn Manson.

  • Good Job you artist!

  • The artwork fits the song perfectly!

  • The piano in 2:48 and on. Placebo's "Special K" Gravity, No escaping Gravity, no escaping..

  • bauhaus is considered to be one of the father bands of goth rock but those roots grow deep!

  • A beautiful video for a beautiful song. You shall never go unnoticed in a world that openly embraces you with deaf ears.

  • "That is another of your odd notions," said the Prefect, who had the fashion of calling everything 'odd' that was beyond his comprehension, and thus lived amid an absolute legion of 'oddities'

  • ......"A" TUNE.........

  • HOLY HELL. This is perfect.

    Beautiful.

    Awesome.

    Great.

    Your artwork is so fitting.

I almost cried when I saw the rotating scene, and then the one last piece of artwork shrinking away.

I did not expect such a great video.

Thank you very much for making it.

  • @InsideYoFeebleBrain aww thank you, I'm happy that you liked it (^_^)

  • i'm just wondering, don'tr get pissed or anything, but what genre is this? people say it's goth some others say darkwave and some say punk..what is it?

  • @lalamouse77 goth rock, post-punk, alternative. thats what I think they are.

  • thanks.

  • @lalamouse77

They really don't fit into a genre... but its some of the best music ever produced. You don't listen to Bauhaus... you see Bauhaus! ;-)

Don't think about it too much, just close your eyes and enjoy.

  • @lalamouse77 The lead singer is considered the god-father of goth music. Goth isn't really a stereotype when it comes to music if that is why you though he would get pissed. Goth is just the music, and people who listen to it are "goths". Stereotypes is when you see someone who appears goth and doesn't listen to goth music. Then their just posers to us.

  • @lalamouse77 all of the above.just enjoy the music.it dose not need a lable.

  • @lalamouse77 the word 'genre' tends to put things in boxes, this song is above that, call it what you like.Good is a start.

  • @lalamouse77 this is not a genre THIS IS BAUHAUS get over genres and just listen to a beautiful piece of music.

  • @lalamouse77

None of those. It pre-dates Goth and certainly darkwave though both labels have been applied after the fact. Really Goth didn't exist really until Bands like Fields of the Nephilm. Some describe it as Art House punk but I think that is an oxymoron. It is certainly post-punk. It is a period that is difficult to categorize with labels. Their contemporaries of stature were Magazine and Joy Division who also fail to be nailed down. I just like to think of it as experimental alternative

  • @lalamouse77 bauhaus are a goth rock, post punk band, but stylistically this cannot really be classified as goth rock. When i first heard this (ipod was on shuffle) I thought i knew the voice but couldn't quite guess who were the artist(s).

I was pleasantly surprised when i saw bauhaus.

Just like when you heard helter skelter by the beatles for the first time!

Anyway, great piece of music. =)

  • Ohh, this is one of the few songs that can make me cry. I dont know why, but its great.

  • well judging the comments seems like this song touched what it must. still crazy for it and gonna give another play...

  • Do yu remember my friend Carrie ??

She always thought of you fondly Pete, even though we didn't believe her !!!!!!

anything for a friendly stranger :)

  • great job, brother

I don't know you or your name, I've never met you or conversed with you before this moment, but I know who you are

because you are me, you are everyone who visits this particular page.

you are beautiful and I love you, we may be complete strangers,, but I know the pain of abuse, from all angles,

thank you, for what you have done for your friend, and for me

    this made my day :)

  • wow thank you so much for the wonderful words.

  • @danzig5 I couldn't have said it better myself :)

  • @danzig5 You are so so right in that comment - those who are drawn to this song aren't here for music as we immediately scan the comment'sand are transported to a time free of the crassness of the internet, electronic communications and the viral nature of this age- here is to all those who speak the spirit of crowds - much love x

  • @danzig5 you know how describe this, its amazing we are sync. If I will must to take some humans to start a new evolution of course you and Peter Murphy will be included

  • May I ask what Aaron was struggling with? This is one of my favs.

  • Aaron was a sexual abused child, and to this day it still hurts him deeply, he's my best friend, and I do whatever I can to help whenever he's down.

  • How sad. My best to Aaron. He's not alone, though. :/

  • Pallid landscapes of my frown

for some reasomn my old dear hated this song.

  • peters voice is amazing and great art=[]

  • Good song!

It came to mind when I was listening to Sugar by She Wants Revenge...

Both great bands, but I'm here in order to praise Bauhaus who are much bigger band in terms of reign and influence on others, and timeless also. They make timeless music!

  • To be honest when I first clicked on this I expected it to be crappy. It was the opposite of that. Nice art work also.

  • crappy eh?

  • It wasn't.

I saw on the video list, and wrongly assumed crappiness because it was a created video to my favorite song.

  • que quieres de miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii que mas puedes tomar de mi!

  • hermozo

  • this is my funeral-song, to all those losers i've met during my f*cked up life !

This one goes out to the one i hate : MY FATHER !

  • sweet, i'm getting The Cure Disintegration for mine...

  • SNAP

  • My funeral song will be hollow hills. if i had this played at my funeral my parents would understand the irony. My mam would weep every time she heard this and tell me to turn if off. my dad well 20,000 miles a way and still that ain`t far enough.

  • But just think about that these is your life.... not for your parens and.......
