  • Smooth as silk ......what a musician

  • Music is heavenly! I'm a fan of Earl Bostic, just as good but different!

  • So sad that he died at age 39 from a stroke that occurred while he was fixing his son's bike. A truly brilliant artist.

  • Is this God? I think so -

  • @bagb74 No but its heaven, thanks for commenting.

  • um dos maiores saxofonista de que eu tenha conhecimento.sopro limpo e afinadissimo! era o meu som de infancia .tocava tanto o disco que gastou as faixas!!!

  • Wow My father used to rave about this guy,he told me that he was possibly the finest saxophonist ever and after listening to him by stumbling on him by accident (looking for Fred Gardner Sinatra impersonator, who I might add is good but not a patch on the real thing) I have to say as always my father was right. Thanks for posting the video.

  • I first bought this album in the early 50's, and I've never tired of it. Such a wonderful artist.

  • @1casey234 Thanks for your comment youll find more freeedie on here lol

  • Flowing, lyrical interpretation of a beautiful song. No steam hammer rythm section and no instrumentalists competing to be front line, So relaxing and reassuring that musical music can still be found. I heard many years ago Freddy`s version of another beautiful song " Roses of Picardy". Is there anyone out there who is willing and able to upload Freddy`s version? Mr Jelly

  • One of the greatest Sax players ever to live!!!

  • Anyone got a copy of Freddy playing Smoke gets in your eyes? It's a classic!!!

  • Thank you for sharing this treasure. Very much appreciated.

  • Uncrowned King of the Saxophone. Many thanks.

  • im 21,n i love it

  • Easy listening that doesn't go in one ear and straight out the other.

This chap could improvise as well. I suppose the tremulous tone dates it but Mr. Gardner could certainly play. Ace.

  • I hear you Dad

  • One of the best. His music brings tears to my eyes and I am a 77 year old male. Where has all the geat artists and music gone?

  • me too I remember being able to buy only3 45's --6 songs in 1952(?) and trying desperately to find more-- I'm new at maneuvering this stuff and pleasantly surprised to find so much --- so listen to Freddy and shed a tear or 2 with me
