They act like they want to die because that's how they get their attention. It's pretty evident that Dead was bloody mental & should have got help, but did not. That's how he ended up killing himself...He was ill, not after attention or publicity (that he wouldn't even be able to enjoy seeing as he was dead :P).

Everybody chill out & enjoy the music, unless you don't like it, in which case go & listen to something else. Quite simple. Dead was clearly mentally ill & I agree that it is quite likely that the whole band had a few screws loose. That considered, and also considering that Dead was not Brittney Spears, but a black metallist, it's pretty doubtful that it was a publicity stunt. If you only enjoy listening to the likes of bmth then don't come on here & complain - go & listen to something you like.

Mayhem actually has pretty good production (at least on this album and the ones after it), especially compared to other bands like Darkthrone and Burzum (although they're still great bands).Although I heard somewhere that Mayhem's new album had odd sounding production.

It's a combination of low quality black metal production (which is intentional), and the compression for youtube, although I tried to avoid making it too compressed, otherwise the sound quality would be truly shocking.
