  • Do u have subtitles in spanish?

  • I respect Faradays Works but I believe that Father of electrical World is Nikola Tesla.

  • Electromagnetism is one of the most beautiful marvels of modern day physics.

Writing down the four laws is so amazing.

  • LADIES AND GENTLMEN: Michael Faraday was a self-taught super-genius.

  • There's just one thing I must know .... for most of my life i'd just read the name James Clerk Maxwell and I say the Clerk just like it is spelled. But more than a few times I've heard people pronounce the name James Clark Maxwell .... including this video by the sounds of it. Whats the deal, clerk is pronounced as clark because language has its quirks and that is that?

  • Oh yes! I was looking for a documentary on electricity and magnetism for my lessons, and it had to be THIS man.

  • I was hoping he would explain how they combine.. =(

  • i love science, and i would like to study it, but i hate math, isnt there a better way to understand things without math lol

  • @hovsec You need to use imagination to understand these equations and functions. If you manage to do this, math becomes a piece of cake. I imagine a graph when I try to comprehend a function and scales when I try to comprehend an equation. Most people hate math simply because they view it as a dull and boring pile of symbols and numbers that mean nothing and need to be memorized without understanding what they actually mean.

  • @Indrius yeah i actually im doing that , and im becoming to like math , i didnt like it before because i didnt understand it but now and end up thinking of solving more problems with equations

  • I simply enjoy understanding our world better, in part due to videos like this.

  • @TheSwamper

    understand or more confused? :-)

  • Please this video is discussing science, not religion. There are many videos of debates on the subject here on youtube where you can talk about it.

Usually these debates on religion involve people like Christopher Hitchens, Sam Harris, Richard Dawkins, Peter Singer and the others. Please look them up and stop talking about things that are unrelated to the topic of this video.

  • You can make free electricity by getting a simple coil, a windmill and turn the magnet to gain AC current, pretty easy!!

  • The liberal atheist media will never say anything good about religion and atheists are so dumb, gullible, and brainwashed, they'll believe anything they hear on TV.

Only in actual historical and science documentaries will you hear anything good about religion. Only then will they mention that religion is what caused science to exist, that Faraday's field theory was strongly influenced by his religious beliefs, or that a Catholic priest invented the Big Bang theory.

  • @itsnobody Cool story bro.

  • @itsnobody Spew your hate on an I.D. message board, not on a scientific informational video. Religion and science are incompatible. If you don't understand that, I pity your feeble brain. Science is based in reality...religious beliefs are not. You just come off as an Intelligent Design moron who's pissed because the unscientific ideas he supports aren't taken seriously....And there's a reason for that. Piss off.

  • @hondadrvr3 lol....I don't believe in I.D. you idiot....if religion is incompatible then why did HIGHLY super-religious Theists invent classical physics, the electromagnetic field theory, quantum theory, and the big bang theory

ll atheists are the joke of the world...tell me how many atheists know that a Catholic Priest invented the Big Bang theory?

Keep watching The Simpsons and Family Guy and being brainwashed into the lies of the liberal atheist media

  • @itsnobody They weren't super-theists and they were just in search for truth. If they wouldn't sey they were theists, they would have been executed + they were under religious brainwashing. And indeed that is the most powerful brainwashing I know.

  • I dont understand if you're For or Against ... you say you dont believe in intelligent design but then you say atheists are jokes. It doesnt actually matter to my point which is that you could say the opposite of what you said and still say nothing:

"...why did HIGHLY non-religion people invent X"

"tell me how many non-atheists know that Lemaître etc etc"

    pointless points are pointless

  • Here's the undeniable facts:

    - After atheists took over science in the late 1960s and early 1970s we immediately stopped finding cures, physics became stuck with untestable theories, and technology started growing much slower

    - Atheists made getting anything into peer-reviewed literature much much harder

    - Scientific growth comes from imagination, belief without evidence, which atheists exclusively discourage

    - Science thrives off of free and open criticism, which atheists exclusively discourage

  • Atheist mentality is don't think outside of what most scientists believe and don't have belief without evidence

Initially Einstein's General Relativity was just an imagination, a belief without evidence far outside of what all the other physicists believed, so Einstein would not have been able come up with General Relativity if he had followed Atheist Mentality.

Later on Einstein formulated the mathematics and tried to test his hypothesis, but initially it was just an idea without evidence

  • No greater threat has arisen to science that atheist mentality. Atheists made it much much harder to get anything into peer-reviewed literate after the 1970s. Back when Theists ran science they believed in the ideas of free and open criticism and science was free and open.

Now that the subhumans\atheists have taken over, all they can do is discourage creativity and block things out from peer-reviewed literature. People just have to realize the nature of threat that atheist mentality poses.

  • Comment removed

  • Atheist mentality has set back science hundreds of years. If atheists had been running things during Faraday's time they would've definitely NEVER allowed his ideas into peer-reviewed literature, since Faraday's ideas were laughed at, far outside of what all the scientists believed, and Faraday had no education after age 13.

  • @omnissient what's even stranger is that Michael Faraday was the very most religious scientist of all time besides maybe Newton or Lemaitre

What's even stranger is that religion is what directly caused science to exist since seeking the truth and true knowledge is a religious idea. Any historian who has studied the history of science knows with 100% certainty that it was religion that directly caused science to exist, but atheists don't

Science can't determine anything empirically untestable

  • how does that device work?

  • Now that atheists have already ruined science and made it much more difficult to get things into peer-reviewed journals science is growing slower than ever imagined. Back when Theists were running things anyone could propose anything, if it stood up to the scientific method it would be accepted.

"Speculations? I have none. I am resting on certainties. I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day" - Michael Faraday

  • The one thing that is 100% certain to the extent that there isn't even the slightest smallest most infinitesimal doubt that it is true is that atheists block human progress, hold back science and technology, and pose the greatest threat to mankind as a whole

The ideas of free and open criticism, creativity, imagination, intuition, and originality all vanished from having any significance after atheists took over

When Theists ran things science was free and open, people could propose anything

  • @itsnobody You are saying with confidence about a subject you do not have qualifications in. Many things you say in this video comment section is scary and untrue.

  • @Fand421 lol are you trying to throw an argument ad hominem?

What a joke of an argument "I say he's not qualified and I say what he said is scary and untrue, but I have no reasoning, no argument no explanation behind that statement, but since I say so it must be true"

Atheists are basically subhumans in terms of intelligence

There doesn't exist even the slightest doubt in me that atheists block human progress, hold back technology, science, and medicine

  • @itsnobody It's not meant to be an argument. If you automatically go on the defensive when someone says something to you then you will have a difficult time listening. If someone is 100% convinced of something like you have been saying, then they leave no room for reasoning. If someone is 100% convinced then that would imply no matter what, you will not change that view because you are committed to that side all the way. That is exactly the opposite of scientific exploration.

  • @Fand421 These youtube comments are way to small to be discussing things in depth. Science is in the game of trying to figure out what ideas are more likely or less likely. It is not in the game to claim a certain statement with absolute certainty. Sometimes we are able to get something that has tremendous certainty and perhaps we will call it law, but even every law that we have in science breaks down at some point. Quite often a law will be extended or added on to or slightlywrong at times

  • @Fand421 lol you didn't refute any statement I made again all you did was say "if you think something is 100% convinced then there's no point in arguing with you" in other words you're saying "I can't refute any statement he made so I can just throw personal attacks and ad hominems to trick and deceive people into thinking I refuted something he said"

You can say that all day fool (atheist), it doesn't refute even one word I said

  • @itsnobody Looking at some of the comments here, I see you have many comments that have statements that do not have reasons attached to them. That's just how language works for most of the human race. If you want to get to the truth of things you have to be able to analyze yourself as well in the same way you did to my comment. The subject in the video is something that I have studied for years. The youtube name next to a comment does not give much information =P

  • @Fand421 lol....instead of giving some type of reasoning, argument, or explanation as to how I supposedly "have many comments that have statements that do not have reasons attached to them" you just make the statement "you have many comments that have statements that do not have reasons attached to them" without any explanation, reasoning, or argument

Can you give an example of what statement I made that doesn't have any reasoning behind it instead of just making baseless statements?

  • @itsnobody People can still propose any idea and if it stands up to the scientific method it will still be accepted. This sort of thing has not changed.

  • @Fand421 lol which world are you living in? It's an undeniable objective fact that it became much much much harder to get anything into peer-reviewed journals after the 1970s fool....people just can't propose anything like they use to when Theists ran science and people believed in free and open criticism.

Atheists are basically disgusted with free and open criticism, they believe that certain beliefs should receive special protection from criticism, scrutiny, and quesitoning

  • Comment removed

  • Religion is what caused science to exist as EVERY historian who has ever studied the history of science knows

Seeking the truth and true knowledge is a religious idea which caused science to exist

Since prior to the scientific method existing seeking the truth was something sacred, mystical and spiritual if atheists were running things they would've just viewed "seeking the truth" as nothing more than philosophical nonsense and no scientific method would've ever formed

  • fuck ALL atheists for holding back science, technology, and medicine for such a long time and getting a free pass

Faraday's ideas were laughed at by other physicists...they joked "what does magnetism and light have to do with each other?"

There's no way atheists would've let a highly religious poor man with no education after the age of 13 like Michael Faraday get his ideas into peer-reviewed journals if they had taken over prior to Faraday

Atheists pose the greatest threat to science

  • Looking at back at the history of science and technology we usually see something happen at the points of the great change....an idea is proposed that is far outside of what most scientists think and it is unproven and highly controversial

Atheists exclusively discourage that type of thinking just making something up far outside of what most scientists believe, it's just nonsensical fantasy magical thinking

Thank God atheists hadn't taken over prior to Faraday

  • Thank Theists for nearly all of science and technology, you let a bunch of nasty atheist animals loose and all they can do is stop finding cures, cause physics to be stuck with untestable theories, and slow down the growth of technology

It's all because of what happened in the 70s atheists made it much harder to get anything into peer-reviewed journal

And it's also because atheist mentality exclusively discourages creativity, imagination, intuition, and originality since that's just "fantasy"

  • To end this argument about God I think Kronecker said it best "God made the integers; all else is the work of man". There is a God, but he had nothing to do with these equations and whatnot .

  • I find it funny all these atheists are claiming that religion and science are incompatible when highly religious Theists invented the scientific method, classical physics, electromagnetic theory, and quantum theory

There would be no Einstein orl Maxwell or electrical technology without Faraday

"Speculations? I have none. I am resting on certainties. I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day" - Michael Faraday

  • @itsnobody It's not as funny as you find it. Most prestigious physicists today are atheists. If you Google the phrase 'leading scientists still reject god', you'll find a link to an interesting article that was published in the journal 'Nature' in 1998. The article reports on a poll that was taken on the religious beliefs of members of the National Academy of Sciences. As you probably already know, the members of the National Academy of Sciences includes some of the most distinguished

  • @MrRobotoToo lol....the most prestigious physicists today are NOTHING in comparison to the best Theist physicists

Everything started slowing down and stopping as soon as atheists took over with their low levels of creativity and imagination (which is what causes science to grow)

All atheists can do is hold back science and block human progress

  • @itsnobody It is unbelievably perverse to describe men like Richard Feynman and Paul Dirac as 'holding back science and blocking human progress' and as 'discouraging creativity, imagination, and thinking outside of what most scientists believe'. I'm obviously not going to be able to convince you otherwise. That being the case, I'd prefer to bow out of this conversation. I just hope that one day you will find the charity to at least acknowledge the contributions that atheist scientists have

  • @MrRobotoToo during Feyman and Dirac's time atheist mentality had not taken over yet

But then around the late 60s and early 70s atheist mentality that "everything outside of what most scientists believe, outside of the box, any belief without evidence is fantasy and imagination"

Remember when Einstein invented general relativity there was no evidence, it was just an unproven imagination in his mind outside of what all the other physicists believed

Atheist mentality = destruction of intuition

  • @itsnobody FeyNman and Dirac both were atheists. So are most scientists. General relativity had a LOT of evidence when it was "invented"

  • @9hello123 actually not no one knew if General Relativity was accurate or not when it was first invented fool, it was just a highly controversial idea, people had to wait until the eclipse to find out if General Relativity was accurate or not

    This is just basic history

General Relativity was just an unproven idea entirely far outside of what every other physicist thought, so far outside that Einstein had to convince people like Hilbert to take his idea seriously

  • @itsnobody No one knew if general relativity was accurate or not has nothing to do with how much evidence it had. General relativity was made through evidence.

  • @9hello123 actually ti does...it's directly connected to how much evidence there was for General Relativity when it was first proposed

The reason people didn't know if General Relativity was true or not because there was little evidence for it prior to the eclipse...it just a controversial idea

  • @itsnobody No. Do you know how complex general relativity is? There's no way you can just make a theory that complex without evidence. Infact there is no way to make any theory without evidence.

  • @9hello123 General Relativity started off as an idea in Einstein's head...the mathematics of it maybe complex but the concepts are pretty simple

  • @itsnobody (2)scientists in the United States. The researchers found that "Disbelief in God...among NAS physical scientists...was 79.0%...". I suspect that the percentage is even larger today because the article talks about its upward trend over the decades. The percentage of atheistic NAS scientists in 1914 was 52.7%; in 1933 it was 68%; and in 1998 it was 72.2%. Notice that these numbers only refer to American scientist. I suspect that the percentages are even higher among leading

  • @MrRobotoToo lol....sure today's scientists who are much less intelligent, creative, and imaginative are atheists

That's why everything in physics slowed down after atheists took over in the 1970s because atheists discourage, creativity, imagination, thinking outside of what most scientists believe, and especially belief without evidence

Looking back at history of science those are things that exclusively cause physics to grow

It's no wonder science has suffered such a slow down

  • @itsnobody (3)European scientists because Europeans in general are more atheistic than Americans.

Finally, Newton also believed in alchemy, so not everything he believed in was infallible.

  • @MrRobotoToo I never claimed what everything that Newton believed was true...just that Newton was smarter than all atheist scientists that ever existed in all of human history

Just like how not everything Einstein believed was true

Alchemy is also the origin of chemistry

  • this is really interesting. it seems Dr. Cox uses underlines to denote vectors. that's something I have never seen before...

  • Science can be right and so can religion. Science just proves the miracle and beauty of what we are made of and are a part of.

  • @STUMOODOO But science reveals that nature is governed by blind, impersonal forces operating mechanistically. There is no sign of intelligence, agency, or purpose. This is in direct contradiction to the beliefs of most religions.

  • @MrRobotoToo lol....in order to distinguish between personal and impersonal and intelligent and unintelligent you would need concrete definitions of these, Newton, Faraday, and Planck certainly do not agree with you

  • @itsnobody But Dirac, Feynman, and Weinberg do.

  • @MrRobotoToo Yeah except that Newton, Faraday, and Planck are more significant than all of those people and each of them were MORE religious than all of the other scientists during that time

And Hawkings is really just an overrated media figure just like Michio Kaku, why don't people like Steven Weinberg get nearly as much attention?

  • @itsnobody Newton and Faraday were obviously very significant figures: Newton probably the most significant figure of them all. I think you're probably overstating the importance of Planck, though. You're also underestimating the importance of Hawking: his development of the singularity theorems and discovery of Hawking radiation were major contributions to theoretical physics. Here's a video you might find interesting /watch?v=W7VcLCwnpt4

  • @MrRobotoToo no Hawkings is the most overrated person, most physicists don't think Hawkings is the best modern day physicist at all, not even one modern day physicist would say he is

Planck is much more significant than Hawkings can ever dream of being and quantum theory and E=hv changed everything in physics

Weinberg on the other hand really is much more significant than Hawkings

  • @itsnobody You're probably right that most physicists don't consider Hawking to be the best modern day physicist, but I don't think that there is any physicist alive today that the majority of other physicists would consider to be the best. Some will say that Steven Weinberg is the best, others that David Gross is the best, others that Frank Wilczek is the best, others that Gerard 't Hooft is the best, others that Ed Witten is the best, etc. But there can be no denying that Hawking has made

  • @itsnobody (2)important contributions to theoretical physics.

Planck is important because he was the first one to get a glimpse at the quantum nature of matter and energy. The reason I question the significance of his work is because quantum physics would probably not have suffered much of a setback if Planck had never undertaken his studies of black body radiation. Einstein, for example, had reached the exact same conclusion as Planck studying a completely different phenomenon (the

  • @itsnobody (3)photoelectric effect). It's likely that Einstein wasn't even aware of Planck's work when he published his paper.

  • @MrRobotoToo Einstein was definitely aware of Max Planck's work and Planck and Einstein were close friends

But Max Planck is still significant for quantum theory, I don't think quantum physics suffered much of any set back because of Planck

  • @itsnobody Oh, and Hawking, too. Can't forget to mention Hawking!

  • Not all observations were explained by the initial equations... without the extra term they are not consistent with charge conservation; that's why they had to be changed.

  • When i was a university student i loved this subject...nowadays Maxwell`s eqns are often written as differential forms. Beautiful subject!

  • religion is based on faith and hope. people just use it for fear and control

  • science will never be religion ..

religion is based on fear and control

science is based on observation and skepticism .

there is no room for skepticism and open-mindedness in religion

and there is no room for religion in science.

  • There are a lot of sceptic scientists allright, but what makes you think that science is based on it? Science has evolved through humanity's desire to discover and question things. It's not the same.

  • @sidewaysfcs0718 what are these faggot atheists talking about? Don't they know that Faraday was highly religious and Maxwell was as well?

    Haha

HIGLY religious Theists invented the scientific method, (Alhazen) classical physics (Newton), electromagnetic theory (Faraday and Maxwell), and quantum theory (Planck)

Pay homage to ones who brought you hear fools (atheists), it's only been in recent times after the faggot atheists took over that science and religion are enemies

  • @itsnobody

their religion didnt have much to do with their research u idiot.

and ofcourse they would be religios since in thoose times being an atheist would get u killed ...

just shut up if u cant even debate someone ....and i never said religion is the enemy.

but stupid people like u , are the enemy.

  • @sidewaysfcs0718 what? Michael Faraday was motivated by his HIGHLY religious views, didn't you know that?

After atheists took over science, science started growing MUCH SLOWER than ever before, stupid faggot atheists holding back science, it's no wonder Newton said atheism is senseless and odious to mankind

I'm not the enemy, it's atheists like you that try to prevent free and open criticism and scrutiny of their beliefs that are the enemy, they want everyone to agree with them or not speak

  • @itsnobody Lol "stupid faggot atheists" like Albert Einstein, Richard Feynman, John Maynard Smith, Sir Peter Medawar, Steven Weinberg? (Just to name a famous few) Yeah that’s right they have really slowed science down... Even if such cases didn't exist it would be no argument for theism as arguments from authority are extremely un-scientific. As for Newton he is said to have written over a million words on alchemy, does that make alchemy true going by your fatuous logic?

  • @CosmosLoyal man what a fuckin idiot Einstein was not an atheist, and exclusively said so

As for the historical fact that science started growing MUCH slower after atheists took over, that's just a simple undeniable fact, pointing out atheists scientists doesn't refute this

Alchemy is the origin of modern chemistry dumbass, and I never claimed that everything Newton said is true, just like how everything Einstein said isn't true

Einstein claimed black holes didn't exist for instance

  • @itsnobody Are you religious?

  • @xpsniperguy123 No not really

science is thet investigation of God's creation

  • @sidewaysfcs0718 So what do you go for?

  • I hear god and god says "Shot all religious people , they are just cattle" . :P

  • strange that believers talk about god when they are talking about science.

Science never mentions god anywhere. Science does not prove god or even deal with the question wether there is a god.

Science deals with what we know and observe and what we can understand and test.

If we do not understand something then at least there is something and this something can be described or observed.

God has never been observed. It is utterly unscientific to claim gods existence.

  • dont forget viva faraday too

  • Viva Maxwell !

  • any1 noe the song at 2:57........

  • These laws and theories have real evidence behind them. Even the church has admitted the existence of such ideas about our world. These theories do no more to "discredit the bible" than they do prove the existence of God. You should not meddle with concepts and ideas that are so obviously beyond you. If they are not beyond you, then please, show me where your proof is, show me the texts you have written and the experiments you conducted to prove these theories incorrect.

  • Your right. Science proves that God exists. I don't know why people assume that it offends God or whatever.

  • All this "lite dual nature" and magic waves is a bunch of nonsinse, made up by liberal scientists in order to discredit the Bible and to remove God from our money. The speed of lite makes elictricity and magnets?!? Lite and magnets IS TWO DIFFERENT THINGS! How can lites make magnets? Lite is a wave and dots at the same times?!?! LITE IS DOTS, YOU IDIETS! Liberals are realy stupid, believing all theory of relatives, is this nonsinse!

  • Light is spelled L-I-G-H-T. It's quite obvious from you profile picture that when your god created you he did not say, "Let there be LITE!"

  • I take it that spelling is not your cup of tea.

  • your the one who thinks what someone said over 2000 years ago is true so dont cut down ppl who are trying to find the real truth

  • okay, science makes people believe. That is not a bad thing - religion has done it for years.

The speed of light unifies both energy and mass. E=MC^2. Everything is in some way connected. the same as a line of dominoes.

Light is a waveform which can be detected by our eyes. Photons.

Light is both particle and wave depending on many factors - wave-particle duality.

Look up the double slit experiment - things at a quantum level have no possible analogy to how things work at a macro-level.

  • light is both wave and particle.

  • We can attain real replicable results based on theory. So even the theory is incorrect, the results obtained speak for themselves.

  • When has that happen? When do kids say "when I grow up I am going to discredit the Bible so I will become a scientist"? Never!!! They become scientists because they are curious about the world aound them. And yes there are those scientists that are atheists, but its because there is no proof to "them" that He exists. There is proof to back it up. I believe in God and science proves God exists.

By the way...your right I don't think a solid magnet is the same as light, but MAGNETISM sure is.

  • science doesnt proove god exists ...in fact science prooves everything in the bible is bullshit

if i took god 7 days to make earth it would of taken him 20 quintillion years to make the great galactic wall (about 10 000 superclusters of galaxies)

the age of the universe however is 13 billion years ...so either god cheated or its all bullshit.

im not even gonna get into genesis ...thats what abiogenesis and evolution are for.

  • This has to be a joke, congratulations you managed to get a lot of people to reply!

If this isn't a joke then would you mind giving your internet connection to someone who needs it more?

  • Does anyone know what the lines under the E and the Nabla mean? Is it a UK way to wright them or something else?

  • they just mean the quantities are vectors

  • Gauss + Gauss + Faraday + Ampere = Maxwell

  • @mikejoepierce Gauss and Maxwell are essentially equals and I would even go as far to say that Gauss was a better mathematician than maxwell but maxwell was the better physicist.

Although I have heard that maxwell could have discovered special relativity if he had survived longer.

  • James Clerk Maxwell should be considered the second greatest scientist of all time, after Newton. After Maxwell, Einstein. If you can't appreciate the work done by this brilliant man you should just smash your computer into millions of pieces right now! When I say that, I am sayign that if it weren't for his discoveries you wouldn't have technology right now.

  • moving a magnet around inside a coil of wire makes electricity...

...just like moving electricity around in a coil of wire makes a[n electro]magnet

  • positively..... fascinating

  • If they're two aspects of the same thing, how can you have natural magnets? Where's the electricity, where's the electric field, with a natural magnet?

  • Hi interstitialofficial. Electric fields exist around any electrically charged particles. If the particles are stationary (static electricity) the field is referred to as an electric field. If the particles are in motion (electric current - like that which flows through a wire) the field is known as a magnetic field. Natural magnets occur when charged particles are forced to move, such as those in the Earth's mantle which, by their motion, create the Earth's magnetic field.

  • The magnetism in a natural magnet is caused by the spin of the electrons as they orbit the nucleus. All materials have spinning electrons, but in non-magnetic materials these electrons pair up and cancel each other out. Natural magnets are simply the materials that have unpaired electrons whose magnetic fields do not cancel out.

  • I like this guy. He has just the tiniest hint of Carl Sagan in the way he talks. Notice how he breathes in through his nose between sentences.

  • yes, and to top it all he's not a black

  • Someone ALWAYS has to ruin a brilliant clip by making a religious comment... You can't have an intellectual debate over youtube comments... it just doesn't work.

In fact, it's safe to say that most of the people who make religious comments are just trolling. Ridiculing religious people is like shooting fish in a barrel but for the sake of preserving everyone's sanity, just keep quiet! :P

Also, people on both sides of the fence would do themselves better justice by spelling correctly.

  • I must disagree with one thing you said here. Comments, no matter what they are, have no affect on a clip whatsoever. I'm fascinated by what Brian is saying, and I've watched five clips now without even glancing at the comments. Comments are like ads, you watch them during the break, but they have no bearing on the clip.

(Religion is like the gravity force of our lives. It's so weak as to be irrelevant.)

  • Yes you're right about comments not affecting the clip... but sometimes I glance down and read a comment, and I can barely resist replying to some of the more (or less, depending on your own opinion) imaginative posts.

I have yet to find a way to disable comments so just trying not to read them will have to suffice.

I admire the religion is like gravity analogy by the way.

  • "In fact, it's safe to say that most of the people who make religious comments are just trolling"

you're trolling right now and it has nothign to do with religion. Religion in this video has very special importance, Science connects to Religion and philosophy and multifarious ways. Maxwell was an ardent christian, Issac Newton was an ardent Christian as well, and Einstein was an ardent believer in God. The three greatest scientists of all time believed in God, give God credit.

  • watchu talkin bout.. idk bout the rest but einstien is a well know athiest.. better know watchu say before u start talkin shit

  • Einstein was an Atheist? A well know Atheist? What you just said is a well known lie. Einstein was a Deist, he believed in a creator but denied giving it any characteristics.

"I am not an Atheist, I don't think I can call myself a pantheist" -Einstein

I think you should watch your mouth before you insult people and teach pseudo-knowledge.

  • Einstein did NOT believe in a personal God. He believed the laws of physics themselves were "God."

  • "Einstein did NOT believe in a personal God. He believed the laws of physics themselves were "God." "

Give me one quote where he says he is a Pantheist, in fact he said:

"I am not an Atheist, I don't think I can call myself a Pantheist" -Einstein

Einstein believed in Panentheism, or the Universe being part of God, and he also believed that God 'placed' the laws of physics so proportionally and so mysteriously like 'books in different languages'. panentheistic deism.

  • It was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it.

    - Albert Einstein, letter to an atheist (1954), quoted in Albert Einstein: The Human Side, edited by Helen Dukas & Banesh Hoffman

  • "In the view of such harmony in the Universe, there are those who say there is no God, but what angers me the most is that they quote me in support of their views" -Albert Einstein

"I am not an Atheist I don't consider myself a pantheist" -Albert Einstein

-Towards the Further Shore, Jammer pg.97

    -Glimpses of the great, 1930

  • What separates me from most so-called atheists is a feeling of utter humility toward the unattainable secrets of the harmony of the cosmos. (Albert Einstein to Joseph Lewis, Apr. 18, 1953)

I don't think Einstein believed in a conscious creator - but I'm open to being proved wrong. If he didn't and your agreeing with that then we are not actually in disagreement.

  • I never said Einstein believed in a Creator, I don't believe God created the Universe. I believe the Universe is part of God's whole, but I do believe that God set these laws in precision to allow life in the Universe. I'm pretty sure that's what Einstein believed as well, except he believed God didn't care about us, while I'm a panentheistic Christian and believe he has an afterlife awaiting us.

  • So do you believe in a conscious God?

And can a God be conscious without being personal?

Maybe conscious (for a God) isn't the right word, but I mean a God that knows what is happening and has influence on the universe either at the onset or throughout.

I've got to admit that I too thought that Einstein was an atheist before I joined this discussion, but on delving deeper I am now only sure that he was not a believer in personal Gods - how does that compare with you?

  • Yeah I don't think conscious would be the right word either. I myself believe God actually knows what's going on and he knows what we do, in Einstein's case this wasn't true.

Einstein believed in a higher inteligence with sumpremem majesty, but Eisntein believed he had nothing to do with human affairs. Also I do agree with the last statement you said, Einstein never believed in a personal God since the age of 12. I would consider Eisntein a Panentheistic Deist, what do you think?

  • Newton Believed in God, Einstein believed in some form of a God, like Spinoza. just like Einstein said, "science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind". Knowing our world makes it more interesting but dont fall in the mistake of saying that there is no God. It was already predicted in Daniel 12:4 "knowledge shall be increased". and its also predicted that humans will still keep on rejecting their creator until the terrible judgment day.

  • Can't u guys stop trolling? This series is awesome and it explains alot in the most simple way possible so instead of bringing gods and fantasy up try to learn something. Each of these episodes holds more truth than the whole bible.

  • I don't think they mentioned god in this video.

  • there is no need to add 'god' into these equations.

  • yeah I had noticed, but thanks for pointing that out.

  • Attributing any of these forces or particles to some God ends the mystery, and ends the exploration. Leave Science alone, and go read more of your own book please.

  • I'm not saying God is directly behind this, I'm just saying eventually you will reach one. And no the concept of a god does not make it any less interesting. I in no way meen they should quites experimenting. I watch shows like this and read physics all the time, so do not assume just because I belive in a God that I have no idea what I'm talking about.

  • I don't think you're stupid, but I do think you DID at least imply God had some credit for these amazing theories. On the contrary, they have only been made by the ability to separate the magic/miraculous out of understanding of the natural world, to ask difficult questions and answer them further.

Somehow you have been able to compartmentalize physics and God, and that's not easy. But if you say God is an answer to anything, that means your questioning is over.

  • and WHom created GOD??? ... Man did.. Why?? well because early man need it to find reason behind natural phenomena.. Lacking an understanding of natural events his mind came up with the idea of a "GOD" or "Gods".. To make sense of the world in which he lived...

  • That was a question, don't answear it yourself. Are you suggesting that eveyone just stop beliveing in God because you say so.

You have no right replying to a commnet that has been discussed.

Do not reply with moroninc excusses that I have heard many times over.

I would like to see you look into the eyes of everyone who has experianed God, and tell them it is just made up.

Honestly this is pathetic, you can argue wich God but vaguely it is not a dabat at wether their is something.

  • this is good information about Farraday and more for the Layperson.
