Everybody is in this Dudes dick and he's putting those kind of stats up in 1A. Why don't y'all check out Malcolm Brown and Aaron green who had monster season in 5A. And then Look up Johnathan Gray who had 50 Td's as a Soph and 59 as a Jr who has had 6'690 yards rushing in 2 and a 1/2 season. The man had 8 td's in the class 4A STATE Championships. now I can respect that cause he's balling in a big time classification.
Traylon may run a 12.54 in the 100 but he does have a lot of muscle behind him that slows him down, he's a very talented football player which all you really need is 4.4-4.5 40 speed to awesome. Thumbs up to the 2nd all time leading rusher, cuz even as a sophomore he's still unstoppable all around. Just felt bad that he couldnt get more yards his senior year cuz he got that bum leg. He's great plain and simple and I hope that he and Kennedy make it into the NFL.
@jonjonejnon this dude ran a 12.54in the 100 that's slow. I went to high school with a guy that ran a 9.98 laser time at regionals back in 99' and I train a kid now that ran a 10.9 as a sophomore which is slow for 5A these days. But at that size if he's running a low 4.5 that's very good...
You know what i hated? He was all over the texas football magazine, but everytime they posted something good about him they would add in, but this was all from a small school we are not sure about the transition to better competition or something of the sort. I mean come on...if you're good you're good and 10,000 yards don't lie. Nor does a state championship.
I know, the numbers dont lie. I mean just because he played at 1 A school, who cares, there are plenty of 5 A studs that wash away at the next level. Lets give the kid a chance and then decide on what we post. 10,000+ yards. Alot of NFL players dont get these kind of yards in 10 years. Well just heard that spring pratice starts this Friday, gota a QB that IS GOING to be great. Cant wait for 2010 season. HOOK EM.
@silverbullet94: Please tell me your not comparing H.S. stats to the League. Longer season, and waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better athletes in the League. He might be good, but Like I said its 1A ball. That's why not to many big time football programs recruit out of anything less than #A because the talent level is so much more skewered at those levels compared to the bigger levels. Mack Brown took the risk because he has 8 other Rb's right now that he can play if this kid is a bust.
@hvyhittah You have some really talented kids in 1A. And Shead is one of them. The only big difference in 1A is that you can have a couple of good athletes but not all 11 on the field are going to be great. Not to mention there's a chance that those 11 will be on the field all night. If anything 1A athletes are more competitive in the sense that they push themselves every play rather than just on offense or just defense.
@badger7504 A prime example is the late Gaines Adams. Played 8 man football at a small school in SC got had to go to a prep school to get noticed. Got recruited to Clemson, basically had 2 good years went to the league and Busted. Quincy Cosby at Mart stellar high school athletes, went to college never heard from again. His brother did pretty good after maturing and giving up baseball.
@badger7504 How about the players that played for Celina a 2A school? They had a RB/LB that went to Oklahoma state and was never heard from again. That's why you don't see too many big time college coaches sniff around programs that come from anything less than 3A unless its 1AA, D2, or D3 schools coming to look at them. You definitely have to be something special, because the speed and athleticism at that level is not what you see at the bigger classifications.
@hvyhittah Well they're not going to settle on just one player. He's good. I'll admit he isn't the greatest but he is good. And for being a 1A player getting a shot like this, that's something special. Look up some 1A players with crazy stats. QB Aaron Bueno from Ben Bolt is a monster also. Just look up Ben Bolt vs La Villa and check him out. David Mora from Mason finished up with over 3,000 yards this season. And they played some monster teams, 1A and 2A.
Ok like i said earlier, IF YOU HAVE NO CLUE WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT DONT POST. Get your facts strait before you embarress yourself on here. Get a clue.

@blackmouthcur1: Axe'em, Jacks.. But this kid is the Best athlete in 1A. He should be dominating. I just don't think he'd be doing that in 5A. He might still get 1500 or 2000 but not all those TD's like he was doing at Cayuga..
Traylon Shead is slow Look at his 100 m Time at the UIL Texas state track meet 13.5- LOL Plus they cheated so he could make it to the State track meet
It's not all about speed idiot. This guy has a ton of power. Also it's a small school so he plays every single sport because he is such a great athlete. He had an injury that lasted from football threw track that he never had time to recover from because of the transition from football straight to basketball straight to track. This guy constantly took a beating threw football. Yeah, he will get hit big in a D-1 college, but he also will have a hundred times better O-line blocking for him too!
Also, rip72, they didn't cheat! the weather conditions were outrageous! Hurricane like wind, drop in temperature, and a huge downpour about to come in! you seriously need to start looking more into a situation rather then just the outcome of it!

Texas RB depth chart: Cody Johnson,Vondrell McGee, Fozzy Whittaker,Jeremy Hills,Tre Newton...A bunch of okay backs but this kid seems to have the total package. I see why Texas is high on him. Size speed and power. I heard they might move Chris Whaley to DE instead of RB. That would certainly leave the door open for Shead.

Traylon is a moron for picking UT.... He probably needs to repeat a few years in high school because he will never be a starter there..... 1A football talent to NCAA= bench for 4 years and being redshirted
Sharpproductionsbo whats the height weight and 40 on this kid. Seems to have a lot of speed but also runs with power. Him going to Texas will be a great fit. His experiance in the spread will definately help him in is transition to UT.
I don't see how he fits with A&M with Christine Michael committing there. If he goes to UT he better have some tweezers because he's going to have a lot of splinters by sitting on the bench for 3 years. The first one being redshirted the others being on the bench. I agree with pretty much everyone else that TCU makes the most sense and LT could be nice mentor since he is involved with their program.
Did he commit to A&M? If so that would be a dumb move since Christine Michael just commited there and the A&M is a complete mess. That would be a dumb move on Traylon's part.
I hope Traylon watched the TCU bowl game. This team will finish in the top 10. Also, it mentioned how involed LT is in the program (Traylon would get lots of tips from him if he goes there). Also, it showed how the running game is the main focus in TCU's offense. I agree with the other comment offering his brother a scholarship is a great idea.
He will have to compete with Matthew Tucker from Chapel Hill if he goes to TCU. Tucker committed last week to the Horned Frogs, and he's one big, fast, tough RB.
BTW his video from this year should be on here after the playoffs are over, which hopefully will be around december 19. Right now he has 2,913 and 44 tds and is avg. 10 yards a carry.
Good to hear A&M isn't an option. That school and program is horrible and I don't know why any Texas high school player would consider that school. I agree with everyone else though TCU seems like the best fit. As one reader pointed out UT's recent history on developing NFL RB's is awful so Traylon should take that in to consideration if he wants to make millions in the NFL. If I were him I would keep my distance from UT if he plans on being a profesional RB in the NFL.
I admit that A&M's program is a complete mess, but why do you say the school is horrible? A&M is a great university and is world reknown in many disciplines.
If he wants to stay in Texas I must agree with everyone else TCU seems like a logical fit. Why would any recruit even consider A&M? Their program is awful and will suck for a long time. If the kid wants an easier path to the NFL then TCU seems like the way to go. If he enrolls at TCU he goes to a team that is a top 25 team every year, will get to play early on in his athletic career and also he will get plenty of touches to show his NFL potential (TCU's game plan is all about the running game).

Traylon Traylon Traylon...this is Jarel man, I went to all your games last year, well actually we played on the same team lmao...but keep up tha good work, u gone be up there...these people are funny making up schools for you!! haha Jus to be quite honest he might go to UT because the coach came to the school a couple of times last year you idiots...take care...
If Traylon has a brain he would go to TCU. It's always a top 25 team. Also, he probably won't get any playing time until his Junior year if he goes to UT and probably will be redshirted as well.
I agree if he wants to sit on the bench for 3 years then he should go to UT but if he wants to actually play he should go to TCU. Also, he should notice that all of UT's former running backs in recent years have all been busts in the NFL Ricky Williams and Cedric Benson. So he should defintely consider TCU over UT.
@Robert21113: Ricky was never a bust, He was the NFL MVP with the Dolphins. Then had another 1000 yard season in 2009. He lead the a bad Saint team in rushing his Rookie year until he broke his leg. If it wasn't for his personal issues, he would have been a sure fire HOF'er. Benson was the rushing Champ this year. Jamal Charles had 1200 yard season, Priest Holmes is a border line Hall of Famer. So what are you talking about.
@Robert21113 You're an idiot. Ricky Williams is not a bust. In fact he is 28th so far on the NFL Career Rushing totals, ahead of "successful" backs like Herschel Walker, Earl Campbell, and Priest Holmes. He's Ray Rice's backup at Baltimore and had great seasons the past two years... As for Benson he rushed for over a thousand yards for Cinci the past two seasons, after a rough start in Chicago, which sucks.
As for Mr. Shead, I am sure that if he works his tail off, then he will be successful.
Hey i know Traylon!!!! =] i go to school with him! All i know is that when i graduate this year im gonna take a picture with him and get his signature!! haha l0l TRAYLON YOU ROCK!!! YOUR GREAT AT WHAT YOU DO! AND ITS GOOD TO KNOW YOU!!! =] =] =]
This guy is a player. I agree with you guys, if he is deciding between A&M and TCU, TCU is a much better choice. Their program is on the rise and, they are starting to put some serious money into it. Plus, they are starting to stockpile some serious recruits. TCU should have some really good teams over the next 4 to 5 years.
Traylon would be nuts not to go to TCU. He would be the next LT. I hope he doesn't go A&M their program sucks and has been for a long time. A bunch of hillbillies go there also. At UT he will not get the playing time he deserves. He will probably be redshirted like most and then he will have to battle with the other star RB they have. TCU is a no brainer. Maybe LT will let him borrow his number. Also, TCU's whole game plan is around the running game. He will get a lot more touches there at TCU.
that killa traylon hits hard trust me i got trucked by him in practice and i thought i was dead. well when ur on the same team as the #1 running back in the state of texas its bound to happen.

@Robert21113 Are you seriously saying that Ricky Williams is not a great RB??
boyzfrombtown 1 year ago

I agree if he goes to TCU he might become the next LT. If I were in his shoes I will go to TCU and try to follow in LT foot steps.
