Certainly, you have not changed Nash's mind by bringing up an example from Physics, a subject in which clear rules and laws are far more prevalent than in something like human interaction or society, not to mention "change". He does NOT have a degenerative brain disease. He was once subjected to Paranoid Schizophrenia. For 25 years he suffered with it. Schizophrenia deserts its victims in most cases with age.. Pure mathematcial logic is not always compatible with modelling due to preconceived notions of constants.

I'm surprised at how genuinely nice John Nash is. As a troubled genius, I would have expected him to be somewhat more irritable. He has nothing to prove, yet he sits and listens to this moron, even attempting to give meaningful and insightful answers to his pseudo-intellectual questions/ramblings despite this idiot's astonishing attempts to interrupt him mid-sentence.

nash's answers I think regarding stability under fiat... and foreign influence on the US macro economy have since proven to be correct... the fiat issues spread further afield... but I think he was mostly right that the US economy is no longer the unstable anchor of world economy... other nations are anchoring their economies... so the sudden failure of banking did in fact illicit an immediate reaction of forcing stability worldwide.

Listen I respect everyones hate on the interviewer and his possible irrational thought. But you have to give him a hand for his effort to change Nash's views on qualitative change through Physics Laws. Good attempt, anyone got any abstract views, if not then dont say bad things.

He does NOT have a degenerative brain disease. He was once subjected to Paranoid Schizophrenia. For 25 years he suffered with it. Schizophrenia deserts its victims in most cases with age.. The reason he speaks as he does, as with most geniuses, is that most do not function on a plane as a normal person does.. If you have ever known a true genius most are "Weird" in their own way.. They are essentially disconnected in several ways from the world around them and the people as well.

Nash is still an active researcher. Schizophrenia can be very debilitating, but it's not always degenerative; it can be degenerative, or have a "peak" and then stabilize.
The reason he seems "out of it" is because one of the effects is losing the ability to display and read facial expression properly. Also extreme social anxiety, etc. -- Think of mumbling like an idiot when you're nervous around a pretty girl.

Many young people like this gentlemen interviewing Professor Nash are so full of pride and ego when it comes to intellect. Its so obvious he is not listening to What Dr. Nash has to offer for quite a bit of this interview. He is trying so hard to impress the man, without realizing how he is making full of himself.
