  • Just to remind you that this recording,ISNT from the Edinburgh,Ingleston gig(its from Germany)but the one were reffering to is the last ELO gig in Scotland.

  • Sky Blue in colour that wee ticket........Sky Blue.....Blue Sky.!Oh forget it.

  • ELO - Edinburgh 16 December 1981 - my first ever concert and still the best - still have the ticket stub. You don't get gigs like this now for £8.50!!!

  • it's a fact that some of the live at wembley they are lip syncing...listen to standing in the rain, sounds exactly like the record...it is in fact from the album...some of the other stuff is live

  • einer meiner ersten singles die ich mir gekauft habe, kaufen durfte ....meine eltern sind damals ausgelippt bei der musik ich fand es knorke ..heute noch

  • My dad was at this show. He gave me one of the t-shirts he bought there... 20 or so years later but still, awesome..

  • Take notice, my fellow ladies! The pants that Jeff was wearing for those TIME concert performances really left nothing to the imagination! (i.e. He wasn't wearing underwear.) ;-)

  • Kelly's high vocal kicks ass.

  • @Chriskkboongg YES IT DOES, ISN'T KELLY AMAZING?

  • Great stuff!! I was at Wembley for the ''Time Tour'' I remember a R2 D2 type robot came out on stage and did the voice for the opening song. Have to say tho, I was slightly dissapointed that Jeff had replaced the strings ( except Mik. violin ) with Synths. Wasnt quite the same. However, the concert was still fantastic!!!

  • 「でんしゃ~ぁ!」

  • I remember that tour... It was my first Rock Concert ever.

  • excelent me gusta I like it

  • Love Jeff Lynne, but sometimes he was lazy with is voice live, choosing the lower key to sing in.

  • Just on the border of your waking mind

    There lies... Another time

Where darkness & light are one

And as you tread the halls of sanity

You feel so glad to be

    Unable to go beyond

    I have a message

    From another time...

  • Edinburgh December 81 - first concert I went to and still the best..and it was about minus 18 outside! I've probably already posted this on here a while back but what the... Jeff Lynne where are you? Concert stages all over the world need you! (But that new album would do for starters!)

  • yeah this the ELO i grew up with before the split in 86.

  • Wow, great ! kelly was truly an amazing singer, God bless him.

  • I saw them live in Boston, Massachusetts at The Boston Garden with my brother in 1981. Great concert but I still kick myself for missing their Out of the Blue concert a couple years earlier. I had to work that night! WTF! What a dumb ass I was!

  • To this day one of the best concerts I've been too (in Zurich). I wish there was video footage of the Time-tour. Great quality - thanks for posting.

  • This is the only band I know that doesn't disappoint in concert. Awesome either way!

  • The twilight zone, where sharks do roam... For christ sakes, John, it's me, Eli! When will you give us a call? How do I reach you? We want up and out. Fuck apollo, we'll take him on on his own turf.

  • I really enjoined this one - I visited the concert in Dortmund Westfalenhalle. It was my first concert I visited, and I still own the "Official Program " booklet seen in your video. ELO are one of my favourite musicians till today!

    Thank you for sharing.

  • Today i was on ELO pt3(or whatever) concert, it was GREAT! They started with this song.

  • I saw them a few days later in Cologne - great concert - great band !!

  • their harmony is amazing even live. Nice photos

  • i saw this cncert in munich germany at the olimpia halla it was kick ass in 1981!!!!

  • Probably my favourite album from any artist of all time, sounds great live, wish there was some video! But thanks for uploading.

  • @abatage0 Know what you mean, it's on a short list of my all-time fav. albums!! Definitely the most underappreciated record of all time., didn't get the publicity or acclaim it so richly deserved. My biggest regret musically as a rock and roll fan is never having seen ELO live. What an awesome treat you youu all had!! Jeff, please come back and perform again! Here's to hoping you can get that spark and magic back.

  • I like this LIVE version... I wish I had it on my ipod..

  • what a fantastic concert that had to have been. Kelly and Jeff in the same room.!

  • 3.24- I remember reading about the Robot on stage for this tour. He used to roam around during songs. I can't remember his name. Does anyone out there remember ?

  • His name was Fred The Robot voicing the "Prologue" and "Epilogue".

  • I thought it was R2D2..

  • Que pasa con r2d2

  • R2D2 es un robot de Star Wars....es un pendejo! Hahahahahaha...

  • Kelly Groucutt (may his soul rest in peace) rules on vocals in this!

  • seems to sound thru a vocoder.. amazin version

  • @parrotindecia Kelly rules in anything he does, he puts his heart and soul into everything

  • Thank you ELO to help me through another lonely night!

  • Why ELO and Jeff Lynne never visited here in Finland ? A New World Record was a gold album in here.

  • Saw this tour at the Westenfallenhalle Dortmund, I was seving in Germany with the Army, it was my first concert in a German audience they were awesome; ELO were pretty fantastic as well. "Into the Fire" were a great warm up act as well.

A shame there is not DVD of that tour.

  • Excellent Performance,Great Live Sound.5 Stars.

  • Jeff sings the first line, and kelly the second line on each verse, on the chorus it is kelly first line and jeff second second line!

  • The Scotland gig was Dec16th 1981.Your right this isnt a recording from that one,due to the germanic countdown at the start, but were using it as a refrence to Jeffs last gig in Scotland.Basically the "TIME" tour.

  • Ingliston was in 81, my first ever gig, and still one of the best I've ever seen. I was 13.

  • The concert in Ingliston was December 1981 no 82.

  • great video and the sound is very good. So good to hear Kelly singing - REST IN PEACE KELLY

  • If this was in recorded in Scotland, then why is the crowd counting down in German? And if this is ELO, why does the singer not sound like Jeff Lynne at all? I guess it's "the Orchestra" or "ELO Part II" or something like that.

  • This was performed by the Electric Light Orchestra Live At Sporthalle - Koln - Germany.

Jeff Lynne and Kelly Groucutt with Dave Morgan are singing the vocals. The pictures in the slide show are from the various tour locations.

  • @movejefflynnelo OK I can Jeff sing now :) Thanks for the clarification.

  • This IS Jeff Lynne...

  • @jeffmoppi . okay the recording-sound is a little shitty, but as a real fan you can hear it ;o) Jeff and Kelly alternate on the leads, at the chorus they sing together with Dave Morgan. Dave used a vocoder. it's definitively not ELO Part II...

  • @jeffmoppi the singer sounds like jeff....

  • @Jauly yes, yes, it's him. I was wrong ;)

  • @jeffmoppi it's jeff & kelly singing....i know because i know their voices....peace

  • What do you mean that doesn't sound like Jeff Lynne? That's what he sounds like when he sings live. The vocal sounds you hear on the old ELO albums are the result of tons of vocal overdubs. I remember Kelly Groucutt saying once that when ELO played live, they used to use backing tapes to fill out the vocal sounds, though it would seem by the time of the Time tour, they had stopped doing that.

  • @Kohntarkosz That is because they got there asses sued!

  • @gahloot Then never got sued you tool. Who would sue them? Where is you proof? How about a link or something? Get your shit straight before you accuse, you shithead.

  • @lonstar70 My proof is I was at some of the concerts that this happened you fucking cum guzzling gutter slut! And it was the fans that had a class action law suit against ELO,and I was included in the suit against the managment, producers etc.. dumb ass!!Its common knowledge that u would know if you weren't out blowing Bev Bevin!

  • @gahloot So, did you get your $12 ???

  • @no1elofaniknow Yes your mom gave me a refund!

  • Respond to this video... By the way listen to some of there other live recordings and you will know this is true! The concert I was at the trick started skipping during the song!Just like Queen would never perform the multi track part of Bohemian Rhapsody in concert!~It was piped in~

  • @Kohntarkosz They did not use backing tapes.

  • @lonstar70 Maybe not on the Time tour, but they were definitely using backing tapes on the Out Of The Blue tour. The cellists were running back and forth onstage like heavy metal guitarists. There's no way they could have been playing their instruments with any kind of accuracy while bouncing around the stage like that. And there's no way they could have gotten those big vocal harmonies with just Jeff and Kelly singing live.

  • @Kohntarkosz I have the DVD of them at Wembley, and there are no backing tracks. ANd how do you know what they can and cant play while running around on stage? Go back and look at the performances they did on small stages in 1973.... they were going nuts and it was all real.

  • @Kohntarkosz don't know about that, maybe back then, but Trans Siberian Orchestra pulls it of live all the time nowadays

  • @jeffmoppi Well you're right on one part, and partially right on the other, They are indeed counting in German, the vocals however are shared between Jeff Lynne and Kelly Groucutt :)

  • ELO made a bad mistake. The band never had a concert in Finland.

  • Thanks for remastering and posting. I was rocking out to it. ELO forever!

  • I was at the Time tour concert in Norman, OK back in Oct. 81 and it was great. Sat about 10 rows from the stage a little to the left of center.

Even had the pleasure of a great opening band in Hall and Oates. As popular as H&O was with all their 70s hits, they opened for ELO.

    A great show.

  • @HazMatCFO REALLY? Lucky you! Didn't realize til now that TIME was performed in so many places. Wish they had taken the tour into Texas in October of '81; hell, the whole group of my Air Force buddies and I would've hit the road hundreds of miles to see ELO then. This TIME album got me thru a tough year in Alaska (Aleutian Islands)in '82., as my roommate wore this album out!!! BTW... my Philly roots cause me to be a diehard Hall and Oates fan, the latest Live from Daryls House w/T. Rundgrenkicks

  • Haven't heard this tune since "Time" was released, but found that I could still sing along.I miss ELO.

  • awesome!!

  • Nice job! To my knowledge, no live video of this tour exists (they were vigilantly cracking down on audio recording when I saw them in Binghamton NY in 1982), so watching your video with these excellent rare photos is the next best thing.

  • saw Time tour 1981 as well. my tshirt is still in excellent shape. jeff lynne is the best! wish he would tour!

  • was at the Time Tour at Ingliston in 81, that was a band playing at the height of thier talents.

  • I was there too- first and STILL the best concert I've been to. (The temerature that night must have been about minus 12)

  • genial

  • Ingilston 1981.Jeffs last ever gig in Scotland.Happy days.

  • Very cool and great pics of the band on the Time Tour

  • exellent.
