I'm sorry, but how can this be called art? Is there some deeper meaning to this work. Is it simply that there is no meaning? Maybe there is something I am missing But from my 23yr old brain in the year 2010 this seems indulgent work. I believe you should captivate the audience into productive thought. There is no skill to this except some post modern philosopher with two masters in no one gives a shit rationalized his work via some merky road about existentialism and perspective!
I saw this last night at the National Film Theatre(London). I think it's the most boring film ever made. I mean, what's intersting about seeing a landscape rotating?
But some people think it's great. Please tell me why?
Well... The camera work simply ROCKS! It's beautiful to look at, and you (I, at least) can think of being there in the mountain... Breath-taking and sublime! I'm glad I did, and now I want the DVD! 3 hours of this incredible landscape and camera work!!! Amazing!
But of course not everybody can enjoy it... and I respect your opinion as long as you respect mine.
i for one do agree with your opinion on the landscape its simply breathtaking as for Micheal snow i think he should stick to art but now that i think about it, it is pretty trippy how he used a robotic tripod but 180 minutes is way too much for me!
This was the first work of art that lets us see and experience the world through the eye of a subject that is not asking "WHY". There is just space and time, no gravity, no past, no future. After three hours of seeing the film and living its presence you should get an idea of this.
can you upload the whole movie? i love it

I own the whole movie (in VHS) and is great. Try seeing it alone at night. It's quite chilling, and scary and alien.
