zakir naik should follow his idol Ahmed Deedat ... who never indulged in such debates and stuck to his field of comparative religion. Here he is creating more confusion then there already is. and what i find odd is that he isn't naming the sects according to their proper classification/order/group or whatever you want to call it. He's just naming this this and that.. probably cannot discern the fundamental conflicts of each. like he said... he is a student of knowledge. still lots to learn..

I should not say its my concept, but my understanding is that there was no such thing as Shaee or Zaeef Hadith at the time of Prophet s.a.w. This idea of Shaee/Zaeef hadith was definitely invented many years after The Prophet & The Sahabahs.

My question was not about Sahee & Zaeef concept, I do understand how it is derived. I was bothered to read your earlier comment about Fazail Amaal consist of Zaeef Hadith. And your conclusion about the book and the people who reads it was negative.

I feel that your conclusion is not giving justice to Zaeef Hadith. Because Zaeef hadith deserves more. The scholars gave it the name "Zaeef" and not "Bad".

First to your question about zaeef hadith, different scholars have different values for them. But none until now says that there value is Zero or Nil. Or else, why are the zaeef hadith still alive today. Who is protecting & conserving them. It is all our Islamic scholars doing this job because it is not believed that zaeef hadith are Zero or Nil.

About your view that Zaeef Hadith have doubt if they are from Holy Prophet (PBUH), it seems wrong too. A hadith is given the title zaeef only because it cannot fulfill 1 or more of the minimum 15 requirements to become Sound (Saheeh) Hadith. So we cannot judge any Zaeef hadith as per your view.

All Zaeef hadith have their own values. And in some scholar's view, a Zaeef Hadith can even become Saheeh Hadith in some circumstances.

@zmnali78 about you first sentence how it seems wrong dont you know the all Muhadeseen view about zaeef. zaeef means there is doubt and we should leave the doubt and practice the authentic Ahadees. and please explain the values of zaeef hadees then i can talk about this and your last sentence about circumstances it is right but when the circumstances really exist. these all things are not cared by the prechers of the book fazaile amal.

Regarding my first sentence, I said it is wrong to conclude all zaeef hadith to have doubtful chain of transmitters which was your view. Because some zaeef hadith may have proper chain, but sometime, due to other reasons it is known as zaeef. So we cannot say a Zaeef hadith is DEFINETELY not from Prophet (PBUH).

And about the values of Zaeef Hadith, there seems to have a common standard among Muslim Ummah, but none is readily to claim it is DEFINITE COMPLETE. The reason could be simply because these rules of defining Zaeef Hadith are made after Prophet (PBUH) and Sahabahs period.

So it could be observed from different Muhadiths, that the values of Zaeef hadiths are unparallel. I would say everyone should ask their own school of scholars and aim to only practice, not to discriminate.
