OMG!! i kinda do that with my appy. except im facing forward and shimmy off his butt. he just peeks around his belly to look at me and he blows air.

@jumping4free I think it is a really good indication of a great relationship of trust you have with a pony- sounds like you've got a great relationship with your pony too:)

Thanks for comment -it is a little foolish;0) but he's 100% with all this sort of thing, kids climbing on and off him.
