@courtneyelisabeth66 Not really. I always think there must be Someone who "programmed" all the science. "Basics" of God aren't that difficult to comprehend.
But yeah, it kind of bugs me that I see people search for Christian meaning under every Switchfoot song. The Lord isn't the only thing in a religious man's life...
@courtneyelisabeth66 I didn't even connect this song with religion. I thought it was about the state of humanity being rather dismal, but realising that it doesn't really matter since we aren't exactly a very big part of the universe. And this individualistic view gives me strength for a better tommorow, for myself. Oh, and people who don't -try- to comprehend things logically; are often illogical self-righteous douchebags.

What a great song. When I look at nature, especially the night sky, I see God's handiwork, and I can't help but feel free and purposeful. I feel like myself. :)
Oh gosh. I am a Christian and, seeing this, makes me want to ask those other Christians who are arguing here about religion :
Did Jesus ever try to 'bicker' or argue his way about the reality of God? He just dropped the Word to the people, and told the mass to repent, basically. So, please, ugh, shut up about your 'knowledge' and show some love. Love is patient. Enjoy the music.
@Zalerus agreed, Proverbs 13:10, all of the arguing is selfish pride, all their knowledge is filthy rags before the Lord. I love switchfoot and this song.
@Zalerus I would say Jesus "fussed" more than he argued. He got onto the disciples and Peter a few times and he was rough on the religious and political leaders. They usually didn't have a come back, so not much arguing went on. I agree with you about being loving, I'm not sure facebook and youtube are the best places to discuss theology.
Woo~ I'm a star grazer, no matter how much I try I can never stop staring at the stars :3 They make me feel like a little light from Heaven is shining through the sky :D
Never, ever, ever, ever listen to people who tell you to shut up. Don"t give them that power. No matter how nice or polite or well intentioned they seem to be. If you have an opinion and have access to a free public forum designed specifically to express them....like this string....then please do God, society, civilization and the whole world a favor and speak up. Thank you.
lmao almost every switchfoot video i went on an read the comments its all a bunch of people arguing about religion seriously people cut it out there such diversity in the world today theres never gonna be a single religion i know every religion has its differences but they all aim towards the same thing they all have a god or many gods but all religious people believe in a higher power beyond what science can tell us
"The internet is a game where even if you win you still look like a idiot'
Quoted for truth.
This is why arguing like your whole life depended on it, on the internet, is pointless.
Does this mean you shouldn't voice your opinion? No, but do it in a respectful way so that it doesn't tick people off. This can be said of real world interactions too.
God, your arguments are so pointless, this is the INTERNET. You come on here to watch videos and enjoy them! Not argue over religion, you aren't going to suddenly make them realize that they are wrong, let them believe what they want and STOP ARGUING.
Amendment #1 "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." If the government cant change us neither can you, let them be ignorant, let them be blind, let them be stubborn, you waste your energy on these people, they wont believe you and you only disturb others.
Socrates: Everyone wants to tell you what to do and what's good for you. They don't want you to find your own answers, they want you to believe theirs.
Dan Millman: Let me guess, and you want me to believe yours.
Socrates: No, I want you to stop gathering information from the outside and start gathering it from the inside.
Dont believe others blindly, and dont force YOUR opinion onto them
Amendment #1 "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." stfu about religious we can believe what we want, we can be ignorant, we can be oblivious
This song reminds me of this fall hanging out with my best friend playing Halo, going wherever we wanted to and doing whatever we wanted when we wanted. It was a great time.
No matter your religious beliefs, switchfoot has a general message of peace and change we can ALL agree with. Instead of picking fights, open up your fists and hold another person hand in this world.
@a1Drummer07 That's a very bad idea. I don't wanna sound racist; I'm not just gonna say to some Muslim, "Hey, your religion's great, you've got a god. Let's all be one happy family." I'm a baptist and I'm not gonna let muslims and buhddists and all that other garb get away with not believing in their true God. I'm gonna share Christ with everyone I can.
@giwannabe13 Their God is our God is the Buddhist's God is the Hindi gods, etc... I hope you aren't letting two simple words, Christianity and [other relgiion] stand in your way. Because true religion transcends our worldly viewpoints. Just because some people have chosent he word Christian and some have chosen the world Buddhist doesn't make us any different. Do you know where the Baptist denomination came from?
@a1Drummer07 Yes, but you're missing the point. Buddhists believe they can get to glory via good works. That's not Christianity; that's activism. Others, such as the hindu as you mentioned, do not believe that Christ died for us and the don't believe that the way to Heaven is through 110% reliance on God. That's where we're differrent.
@giwannabe13 Okay. You can conceed that language was created by man right? Therefore any surface differences within those religions were also created by man. So if I have a Buddhist temple and sit it next to a Christian church of course you will see differences, but they both sit on the same foundation, God's Earth. The foundations of ever relgion are basically the same. Specification and division of groups are inherent in communication, not religion.
@a1Drummer07 Yes, you describe exactly what I've just explained, but you yourself rely on these surface differences in order to hold your beliefs that christianity is right true, but then you go on to say that Buddhism, Islam, etc... is not right BECAUSE of these surface differences. Your argument makes no sense, sir.
@giwannabe13 So buddhism is activism? All of these things such as buddhist "glory", Christian heaven and everything we must take as an assumption in order for our beliefs to be held up....ALL of these are face value, cultural representions of the SAME religion. Religion came from an inherent morality/natural law and a search for the unknown. I am not relgious but I am spiritual. Nature and reality can tell you tell you that there must be something out there like God..moreso than fantasty.
@a1Drummer07 No, not true. First, it is impossible to be spiritual but not releigious. Second, they are NOT all the same religion. Buddhism puts trust in our own ability to save ourselves through good works, and islam requires you to actually to kill yourself to make it to glory. Christianity, however, instructs us that through the Godhead, and through that only, can we can make it into heaven. We can't do it ourselves. If you don't admit that God is your only hope, you have no hope but Hell.
@giwannabe13 Sorry, was enjoying the song til I saw this dosage of ignorance. Being spiritual is about being zen with yourself, spirituality and religion are NOT the same thing. And second, all religions say different things, but when you break them down, they all have similar ideologies. And by the way, it's considered a sin to suicide in all religions, so I don't know how you go saying you have to kill yourself to make it to glory in Islam religion. God isn't everyone's ONLY hope.
@KMVintageRocker Alright, then explain why 90% of the planes blown out of the sky were destroyed by Muslims, and please justify the statement "All religions are the same." Christianity focuses on God's ability to save us, whereas Buddhism focuses on our doing good things and pleasing ourselves. Most of the popes in the past turned out to be rapists. Explain that, please. God is everybody's only real hope; without him, the entire universe falls apart, and the world becomes a hellhole. period.
@giwannabe13 "God" in your sense implies Christianity. You need to realize that Christianity does NOT own God. There is not a Christian God and a Buddhist God. The Buddhist God does not tell his people to "please themselves" (which that in and of itself is completely NOT EVEN Buddhist thought at all). And when does Christianity even mention the universe? It doesn't because back when it was created there was no human scientific knowledge of anything other than what was seen.
@a1Drummer07 well actually Christianity does mention the Universe heres examples "Genesis 1:16 God made to great lights-the greater ligh to rule over day and the lesser light to rule over night he made stars also." ands "Genesis 37:9 I had another dream the sun, the moon, and eleven stars were bowing down to me" notice how these are from Genesis the first book of the bible written on our beggining. so we obviously had some knowledge about the universe before our advanced scientists n stuff haha
@deathwatch86 That would be the visible solar system, sir. Anybody with a neck could have seen that. And were early religions not founded upon a sun. Scientific knowledge of what the sun actually was didn't exist back during the beginnings of civilization and religion. Can you imagine seeing this huge ball of fire in the sky and not knowing what it was. Believe that it could kill your crops or cause plagues. Scary huh? And Christianity carries with it themese of these religions.
@a1Drummer07 One Problem, Prophecy. Any book that has knowledge, and predicts the future. Is written by a supreme being. Look at Israel today, now look at the Bible. GG
@gloinstrong The conflict in Israel is no longer a religious one first of all. And I find that a very outlandish statement to make. Actual religious scholars have spent entire books failing to prove that the bible was written by a supreme being both physically and thru man. I understand belief. I have been Catholic my whole life, but I think it is an absurd idea that belief cannot be founded in reality. The reality is that religion has nothing to do with God.
@gloinstrong Each religion is just a different way of paying homage and recognizing something that is beyond us that we DO NOT understand. That is how religions were started...with a hypotheses if you will. Therefore I believe religion can be very beneficial to mankind if it is viewed through the correct lense.
@a1Drummer07 Muhammad, and Joseph Smith, started Islam and Mormonism 400 years and 1600 years after Christ. Both claim the bible to be corrupt, and both get power, sex, and money from their starting of those religions. That is a cult. Hinduism, claims the World is being carried on the back of a turtle, obviously false. Buddhism, not really a religion at all. CHristianity stands alone. Just like Israel.
@gloinstrong Okay, but that doesn't answer my question. Christianity was not the first major religion. And how do you think you are going to discount so many belief systems in four sentences. The only thing that is obvious is that you have got some homework to do. And come one...switchfoot is really just the christian version of a jihad. Fundamentalism goes both ways, my friend.
@giwannabe13 And please use real facts. 90%? Really? Isn't it worse that 90% of the planes put in the sky are put there by Christians? What about I don't mean to attack Christianity, but please let us deal in fact. What if 90% of people actually knew enough about other religions to accept them as correct and cultural interpretations of the same thing, the same God/entity/presence/energy/bearded old wiseman. I'll give you one thing though; you are very confident in your ignorance.
@a1Drummer07 90% is an exaggeration, I'll admit, but really. Name a plane bomber that wasn't muslim or retarded.
How about religions. They are not cultural interpretations of the same thing, but rather very differrent in doctrine. Catholics believe that communion is actually the body and blood of Christ, while Protestants believe it to be a REPRESENTATION or Christ.
Muslims have a very strict criteria for how they pray, and they must take a pilgrimage. They also seem hate Christians.
@giwannabe13 Again I see your fear of Islam stemming form 9/11. I don't really care to play he-said-she-said with you anymore. Doctrine IS the surface beliefs and cultural interpretations of which I was speaking. They all point to some inherent morality while trying to come to terms with the unknown, such as God's image and intentions and the afterlife. Different ways of practicing religion is more culturally oriented than it is religiously.
@giwannabe13 Pft, every religion has it's own nuts, and religions serve the same purpose for people. And religion does not blow planes out of the sky, people do, but some use their religion as an excuse to take over new land. I'm with a1Drummer07 completely. And no, God is YOUR only real hope, it isn't EVERYONE's hope, so stop speaking for the masses who aren't paying attention.
@KMVintageRocker That's funny, because Jesus said HE is the Only Hope for man. "I am the way, I am the Truth, I am the Life", Sounds like power to me.
@gloinstrong That's fine and dandy, but it doesn't mean he is for everyone in the EYES of everyone, THAT'S my point. You can't go up to someone who isn't down that faith journey that and say that to them, and then try to tell them that their own personal beliefs are WRONG and that YOURS is the only 'right one'.
@KMVintageRocker But I can go up to someone and tell them they are wrong. Everyone can't be Right, and Jesus made sure of that. Buddhism, HIndiusm, Islam, and Mormonism all require you do to "work" to try to get into heaven. Christianity says the exact opposite, you can't WORK, to be good enough to get into Heaven, JESUS did it for us. That is the key, only through him. Is Muhammad dead? Is Joseph Smith dead? Is Buddha dead? Yes, yes, and yes. Is Jesus dead? Nope.
@gloinstrong Lol keep thinking that, not respecting beliefs like that's gonna get you into some nasty trouble. Anyways, I'm not arguing this with you, because you're trying to put something on a higher pedestal and degrading other religions; and to me it's disgusting. This is the internet, but Im pretty sure if you tried saying this stuff to other people's faces, I guarantee someones gonna lose their cool with you.
@giwannabe13 wow! :) Please go learn about world religions...at least a little bit (and that includes your own) before you start down this path. Your post-9/11 islamophobia has no place in religion or spirituality, but it is rather a product of either politics or fundamentalism however you want to view that issue which is really beside the point here. I think Switchfoot would profoundly disagree with you. Their mentor is a very wise person, someone whose views on Christianity might benefit u
@a1Drummer07 Jesus said, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life and NO one comes to the Father except through Me." John 14:6 Jesus is the only way to Heaven you are EVER going to get.
@rapperSweetT Yes..literally that was put in the Bible. But Christianity and many other religions more broadly adopt the idea that we should live as though we have ALREADY died. Death and heaven are not end goals, but are all around us at every instant of existence. And what makes you/the bible right? What about all the poor saps that God "created" before Christianity came around. Are they looking up at their poorly timed lives from the fire and brimstone?
@a1Drummer07 You are right, but you can't blame him. This whole country (for the most part) has a fear of middle easterners because they have to or else our government could make war over there. And if they knew anything true about their own religion other than quoting the Bible to suite their own needs they would realize the facts and the history that proves the two religions to be inherently the same.
My sweet dog in Heaven, the stars will forever remind me of u! <3 Thank u for being w/ me thru thick & thin! I hope you enjoy your next life! God Bless You! <3
Hey, guys! Guys! I have an idea! How about we stop arguing about religion, because I highly doubt you're going to make each other have some sort of religious revelation.
So how about we just chillax, and listen to the nice little tune.
@janethebookworm I agree wholeheartedly Jane, however, what you just said is a waste of time as well because it isn't going to stop or persuade anyone from not arguing. I say just let idiots dwell in there own argumentive stupidity, pay no mind to it, and enjoy the music :))
@janethebookworm im with ya on that. as much as i listen to bands like skillet, switchfoot, and flyleaf i just cant for the life of me see anything really religious in any of their songs. so i just chill and maybe pick up one of my guitars and jam to it like its any other song.
@janethebookworm Lovely idea! Maybe people should realize they can't change another's opinion with the blink of an eye. Chill and listen to the nice music ^^
Okay, so when did this have anything to do with the bible or "god"??? But since we're on the topic, there are some people who believe in god and still have nothing but pain. So, if he doesn't care about nonbelievers and doesn't care about true believers, who does he care about? Not saying he doesn't exist. I'm just saying, maybe he wants us to believe in ourselves first. ~From my fiance Shawn~
I think you should study the bible first before you assume anything written in it. I say that because I didn't the same thing before I found him. A lot of things didn't make since to me either until I studied it and actually received his spirit. And unless I give you some kind of bibly study it's almost pointless to continue to keep going on about this. You just simply wouldn't understand unless you try him out.
@Atlqueen69 Actually, I have studied the bible before and I actually did use to believe in him but it just simply didn't make sense to me. There is no actual PROOF that there is a god so, I chose to be agnostic because who is anybody to say that there IS a god???? Not me, you or anybody else. And who are you to tell me that you know that I have not studied the bible or tried "him" out??? You don't know me so you wouldn't know.
I would love to believe you but with the things you have commented says otherwise. There are even things science agrees with when it comes to the bible. The mark of the beast is even on it's way. That was proven. The same people who wrote certain books in the bible predicted that. Look, I respect you what you have to say. Whatever reason you chose not to believe is fine. But sounds to me your faith was limited anyway. or you were studying just to see, not because u believ
Another thing is you won't find your faith in the bible itself. It comes from your experiences. You know that though because like you said, you studied the bible. I can't have this conversation with you anymore because talking to someone who doesn't believe is simply a waste of time. It's almost like talking to a brick wall. So say what you want, I'm done.
@maxxorrokks I don't have to do anything, If I don't believe then I don't believe. Simple as that. I don't have to have faith in anything If I choose not to and nobody can say otherwise.
@shawnslover4e faith is required for everything, agnostic or not, agnostic you pretend not to bielieve anything and live a pointless life, not to be rude
hey, what if no one ever wrote down anything that's in the bible and it's tales were lost entirely, meaning no one todayknew anything about anything that's in the book at all? what then?
@CardMoves101 Agreed!

Zalerus 5 months ago
@Zalerus But there is a differrence between patience and wanting to make your words last.
giwannabe13 5 months ago
@Zalerus agreed, Proverbs 13:10, all of the arguing is selfish pride, all their knowledge is filthy rags before the Lord. I love switchfoot and this song.
LedZeppelinforever19 4 months ago
@Zalerus I would say Jesus "fussed" more than he argued. He got onto the disciples and Peter a few times and he was rough on the religious and political leaders. They usually didn't have a come back, so not much arguing went on. I agree with you about being loving, I'm not sure facebook and youtube are the best places to discuss theology.

I'm gonna share Christ with everyone I can.
giwannabe13 1 year ago
@giwannabe13 Their God is our God is the Buddhist's God is the Hindi gods, etc... I hope you aren't letting two simple words, Christianity and [other relgiion] stand in your way. Because true religion transcends our worldly viewpoints. Just because some people have chosent he word Christian and some have chosen the world Buddhist doesn't make us any different. Do you know where the Baptist denomination came from?
a1Drummer07 1 year ago
@a1Drummer07 Yes, but you're missing the point. Buddhists believe they can get to glory via good works. That's not Christianity; that's activism. Others, such as the hindu as you mentioned, do not believe that Christ died for us and the don't believe that the way to Heaven is through 110% reliance on God. That's where we're differrent.
giwannabe13 1 year ago
@giwannabe13 Okay. You can conceed that language was created by man right? Therefore any surface differences within those religions were also created by man. So if I have a Buddhist temple and sit it next to a Christian church of course you will see differences, but they both sit on the same foundation, God's Earth. The foundations of ever relgion are basically the same. Specification and division of groups are inherent in communication, not religion.
a1Drummer07 1 year ago
@a1Drummer07 Yes, you describe exactly what I've just explained, but you yourself rely on these surface differences in order to hold your beliefs that christianity is right true, but then you go on to say that Buddhism, Islam, etc... is not right BECAUSE of these surface differences. Your argument makes no sense, sir.
a1Drummer07 5 months ago
@giwannabe13 So buddhism is activism? All of these things such as buddhist "glory", Christian heaven and everything we must take as an assumption in order for our beliefs to be held up....ALL of these are face value, cultural representions of the SAME religion. Religion came from an inherent morality/natural law and a search for the unknown. I am not relgious but I am spiritual. Nature and reality can tell you tell you that there must be something out there like God..moreso than fantasty.
a1Drummer07 5 months ago
@a1Drummer07 No, not true. First, it is impossible to be spiritual but not releigious. Second, they are NOT all the same religion. Buddhism puts trust in our own ability to save ourselves through good works, and islam requires you to actually to kill yourself to make it to glory. Christianity, however, instructs us that through the Godhead, and through that only, can we can make it into heaven. We can't do it ourselves. If you don't admit that God is your only hope, you have no hope but Hell.
giwannabe13 5 months ago
@giwannabe13 Sorry, was enjoying the song til I saw this dosage of ignorance. Being spiritual is about being zen with yourself, spirituality and religion are NOT the same thing. And second, all religions say different things, but when you break them down, they all have similar ideologies. And by the way, it's considered a sin to suicide in all religions, so I don't know how you go saying you have to kill yourself to make it to glory in Islam religion. God isn't everyone's ONLY hope.
KMVintageRocker 5 months ago
@KMVintageRocker Alright, then explain why 90% of the planes blown out of the sky were destroyed by Muslims, and please justify the statement "All religions are the same." Christianity focuses on God's ability to save us, whereas Buddhism focuses on our doing good things and pleasing ourselves. Most of the popes in the past turned out to be rapists. Explain that, please. God is everybody's only real hope; without him, the entire universe falls apart, and the world becomes a hellhole. period.
giwannabe13 5 months ago
@giwannabe13 "God" in your sense implies Christianity. You need to realize that Christianity does NOT own God. There is not a Christian God and a Buddhist God. The Buddhist God does not tell his people to "please themselves" (which that in and of itself is completely NOT EVEN Buddhist thought at all). And when does Christianity even mention the universe? It doesn't because back when it was created there was no human scientific knowledge of anything other than what was seen.
a1Drummer07 5 months ago
@a1Drummer07 well actually Christianity does mention the Universe heres examples "Genesis 1:16 God made to great lights-the greater ligh to rule over day and the lesser light to rule over night he made stars also." ands "Genesis 37:9 I had another dream the sun, the moon, and eleven stars were bowing down to me" notice how these are from Genesis the first book of the bible written on our beggining. so we obviously had some knowledge about the universe before our advanced scientists n stuff haha
deathwatch86 5 months ago 2
@deathwatch86 That would be the visible solar system, sir. Anybody with a neck could have seen that. And were early religions not founded upon a sun. Scientific knowledge of what the sun actually was didn't exist back during the beginnings of civilization and religion. Can you imagine seeing this huge ball of fire in the sky and not knowing what it was. Believe that it could kill your crops or cause plagues. Scary huh? And Christianity carries with it themese of these religions.
a1Drummer07 5 months ago
@a1Drummer07 One Problem, Prophecy. Any book that has knowledge, and predicts the future. Is written by a supreme being. Look at Israel today, now look at the Bible. GG
gloinstrong 4 months ago
@gloinstrong The conflict in Israel is no longer a religious one first of all. And I find that a very outlandish statement to make. Actual religious scholars have spent entire books failing to prove that the bible was written by a supreme being both physically and thru man. I understand belief. I have been Catholic my whole life, but I think it is an absurd idea that belief cannot be founded in reality. The reality is that religion has nothing to do with God.
a1Drummer07 4 months ago
@gloinstrong Each religion is just a different way of paying homage and recognizing something that is beyond us that we DO NOT understand. That is how religions were started...with a hypotheses if you will. Therefore I believe religion can be very beneficial to mankind if it is viewed through the correct lense.
a1Drummer07 4 months ago
@a1Drummer07 Muhammad, and Joseph Smith, started Islam and Mormonism 400 years and 1600 years after Christ. Both claim the bible to be corrupt, and both get power, sex, and money from their starting of those religions. That is a cult. Hinduism, claims the World is being carried on the back of a turtle, obviously false. Buddhism, not really a religion at all. CHristianity stands alone. Just like Israel.
gloinstrong 4 months ago
@gloinstrong Okay, but that doesn't answer my question. Christianity was not the first major religion. And how do you think you are going to discount so many belief systems in four sentences. The only thing that is obvious is that you have got some homework to do. And come one...switchfoot is really just the christian version of a jihad. Fundamentalism goes both ways, my friend.

@a1Drummer07 Er...I don't think so. Switchfoot is a band, not a holy war. So lets just listen to the music, shall we?

@giwannabe13 And please use real facts. 90%? Really? Isn't it worse that 90% of the planes put in the sky are put there by Christians? What about I don't mean to attack Christianity, but please let us deal in fact. What if 90% of people actually knew enough about other religions to accept them as correct and cultural interpretations of the same thing, the same God/entity/presence/energy/bearded old wiseman. I'll give you one thing though; you are very confident in your ignorance.
a1Drummer07 5 months ago
@a1Drummer07 90% is an exaggeration, I'll admit, but really. Name a plane bomber that wasn't muslim or retarded.
How about religions. They are not cultural interpretations of the same thing, but rather very differrent in doctrine. Catholics believe that communion is actually the body and blood of Christ, while Protestants believe it to be a REPRESENTATION or Christ.
Muslims have a very strict criteria for how they pray, and they must take a pilgrimage. They also seem hate Christians.
giwannabe13 5 months ago
@giwannabe13 Again I see your fear of Islam stemming form 9/11. I don't really care to play he-said-she-said with you anymore. Doctrine IS the surface beliefs and cultural interpretations of which I was speaking. They all point to some inherent morality while trying to come to terms with the unknown, such as God's image and intentions and the afterlife. Different ways of practicing religion is more culturally oriented than it is religiously.
a1Drummer07 5 months ago
@a1Drummer07 So what do you believe? Who are you?
prewriter14 5 months ago
@giwannabe13 Pft, every religion has it's own nuts, and religions serve the same purpose for people. And religion does not blow planes out of the sky, people do, but some use their religion as an excuse to take over new land. I'm with a1Drummer07 completely. And no, God is YOUR only real hope, it isn't EVERYONE's hope, so stop speaking for the masses who aren't paying attention.

@gloinstrong I Totally agree with you comment, and I loove Narnia!
emagainsthem 4 months ago
@gloinstrong That's fine and dandy, but it doesn't mean he is for everyone in the EYES of everyone, THAT'S my point. You can't go up to someone who isn't down that faith journey that and say that to them, and then try to tell them that their own personal beliefs are WRONG and that YOURS is the only 'right one'.
KMVintageRocker 4 months ago
@KMVintageRocker But I can go up to someone and tell them they are wrong. Everyone can't be Right, and Jesus made sure of that. Buddhism, HIndiusm, Islam, and Mormonism all require you do to "work" to try to get into heaven. Christianity says the exact opposite, you can't WORK, to be good enough to get into Heaven, JESUS did it for us. That is the key, only through him. Is Muhammad dead? Is Joseph Smith dead? Is Buddha dead? Yes, yes, and yes. Is Jesus dead? Nope.
gloinstrong 4 months ago
@gloinstrong Lol keep thinking that, not respecting beliefs like that's gonna get you into some nasty trouble. Anyways, I'm not arguing this with you, because you're trying to put something on a higher pedestal and degrading other religions; and to me it's disgusting. This is the internet, but Im pretty sure if you tried saying this stuff to other people's faces, I guarantee someones gonna lose their cool with you.
KMVintageRocker 4 months ago
@giwannabe13 wow! :) Please go learn about world religions...at least a little bit (and that includes your own) before you start down this path. Your post-9/11 islamophobia has no place in religion or spirituality, but it is rather a product of either politics or fundamentalism however you want to view that issue which is really beside the point here. I think Switchfoot would profoundly disagree with you. Their mentor is a very wise person, someone whose views on Christianity might benefit u

rapperSweetT 5 months ago 3
@rapperSweetT Yes..literally that was put in the Bible. But Christianity and many other religions more broadly adopt the idea that we should live as though we have ALREADY died. Death and heaven are not end goals, but are all around us at every instant of existence. And what makes you/the bible right? What about all the poor saps that God "created" before Christianity came around. Are they looking up at their poorly timed lives from the fire and brimstone?
a1Drummer07 4 months ago
@a1Drummer07 You are right, but you can't blame him. This whole country (for the most part) has a fear of middle easterners because they have to or else our government could make war over there. And if they knew anything true about their own religion other than quoting the Bible to suite their own needs they would realize the facts and the history that proves the two religions to be inherently the same.

~From my fiance Shawn~
shawnslover4e 1 year ago
@shawnslover4e
Atlqueen69 1 year ago
@Atlqueen69 Actually, I have studied the bible before and I actually did use to believe in him but it just simply didn't make sense to me. There is no actual PROOF that there is a god so, I chose to be agnostic because who is anybody to say that there IS a god???? Not me, you or anybody else. And who are you to tell me that you know that I have not studied the bible or tried "him" out??? You don't know me so you wouldn't know.
shawnslover4e 1 year ago
@shawnslover4e
Atlqueen69 1 year ago
@shawnslover4e
Atlqueen69 1 year ago
@shawnslover4e there is no "proof" for any of the speculatiopns of the worlds origin, so no matter what you have to have faith
maxxorrokks 1 year ago
@maxxorrokks I don't have to do anything, If I don't believe then I don't believe. Simple as that. I don't have to have faith in anything If I choose not to and nobody can say otherwise.
shawnslover4e 1 year ago
@shawnslover4e faith is required for everything, agnostic or not, agnostic you pretend not to bielieve anything and live a pointless life, not to be rude
maxxorrokks 1 year ago
@shawnslover4e God cares about believers AND non believers, but the reason people still feel pain is because of our fallen world.
