  • this is not a non-rotating bar. If it was a non-rotating bar the plates would spin when he racked it, which they don't. Some of you guys make 1970 sound like the ice age. Olympic-style lifting wasn't invented last week.

  • Ok, I read the description, I read all comments but I can´t figure out what makes it harder to lift a non rotating bar?

  • @PulstreiberTV that you can't put the bar on your chest that easily the pressure on the arm is brutal and you can't just bend your wrists, like apollon's axle, it's rly difficult the bar becomes awkward

  • @PulstreiberTV a non rotating bar is a lot harder to lift because the plates will cause the bar to want to keep rotating thus torquing it. However, I think the description is wrong. That is a rotating bar.

  • stupid russian

  • stupid russian ^^

  • roids

  • @MultiTrollHunter And a lot training... cuz you can have all the roids from around the world, but if you don't work on the technique and train hard theres not going to be a difference...

  • 1. alexeev did 507 and serge redding did 502 (just type his name in youtube)

    2. they did a strict press ( especially redding's is very strict, not legs) thus being far superior in shoulder and tricep strength this is still impressive though

  • :37=intensity

  • today's bars are much easier because they have bearings and the bar spins freely, removing the extra force to spin the bar almost half circle to the top position, got it ? Also the professional bars now have a small bumper on each side to easy up the lift also.

  • That was waaaay to easy for him. has he competed in the world championships or in the Olympics?

  • @jappanese no and probably never will

  • @ozwunder69 why not?

  • @jappanese HE DOESNT LIKE TO FOLLOW THE RULES

  • @ozwunder69 capsalot ? - ok... wierd.

  • Красавец!

  • Mikhail Koklyaev is one of the strongest men in history. Fact...

  • @viking8316 yeah dont forget hes a olympic weightlifter, strongman and powerlifter. not just 1 one of those 3...

  • @suparpowers true!! thanks for the reminder

  • I would like to see him clean and PRESS that weight..like Alexev did in the 70's

  • @viking8316 I would like to see YOU do it

  • Comment removed

  • who needs technique when you got steroids

  • @hbqw *strength

  • @tiktokz1 i can tell a body that is on steroids...has Mikhail ever lifted at the olympics?

  • @hbqw oh i wasn't debating whether or not he takes steroids, im just saying, a needle didn't lift that weight.

  • What if he just fell forward toward the crowd. that would be funny

  • Agh... They are sitting so close.. I wouldn't sit that close... What if he falls forward while attempting a weight he normally cant do?

  • @muzimuzi Why talk such shit on youtube? The world record in the clean and jerk is 580 pounds. These "people" you know would be far and away some of the strongest people on the planet.

Also yes it is harder. Read the description.

  • @AmusingYeti yea might've sounded bad but they still are people XD you're people when u bench 100 and u are people when u set a record.. or CJ at this case

  • @muzimuzi no one has ever done a 600lb clean and jerk...Taranenko, Kurlovich, and Pisarenko, have all gotten close, but I don't know if they ever attempted it. Chemerkin attempted 272.5 in 2004 at Sydney but missed the clean.

  • @SCHOFFY7007

All claim a 600lbs lift in training. Read an interview where Pisarenko allegedly doubled a 600 clean, No jerk.

  • @ryanb7337 big difference between in training and in competition.

  • @SCHOFFY7007

well no shit....just a bit of information for you man.

  • @SCHOFFY7007

you mean in training he hasnt "cleaned" yet?

  • i thought he was about to throw the weight into the crowd lol

  • i don't think that is the vasily's record....

  • @MrSunnydisposition the original lol

  • @DanielSel It rolls . Look at the where the sleeves meet the bar. Do you see that split? Do you wonder why there is a split on the sleeve? Also, notice how the disks roll after he jerks it but the bar magically doesn't roll out of his hands!

The rotating bar has been in use in the olympics since 1928, in case you were wondering.

  • @MrSunnydisposition Read the description

  • didnt Vasily Alexeev press that without jumping?

  • @llrond nope

  • @llrond no, he pressed even more o.o 236 kg, to be more exact. A video of him pressing 230 is on youtube lol

  • this guy doesn't look proportionally correct.

  • @dchen345 Hes not a bodybuilder...

  • That clean is sexy ass hell.

  • DOWN in front!

  • That does not look like a 564lb. of clean and jerk, more like low 500

Alexeev clean and press record is 507 AFTER performing guy clean and jerk low 500 it does not break any records

  • @Eningmea62 Clean you speak english?

  • what is that in Kgs?

  • Great strength! Not so impressive technique.

  • he cleans that weight as if it was a warmup! what a beast!!

  • That guy is stronger than Coleman or Cutler who take steroids up their asses. Mikhail is the real shit out there, strongest man alive

  • @BigSamFoSho .. doesnt take steroids huh... ok.

  • @tunnel2vision who cares?

  • @BigSamFoSho Colman and Cutler are both bodybuilders, a different sport all together... And who cares about the steroids, If you took steroids out of ANY sport the audiences would be cut in half! If you don't like juice, don't take it, but don't judge others who are.... They all make choices in life, and if they're bad, they will pay the price when it comes.

  • this is impressive, however, didn't Vasily PRESS the weight (feet stationary, no dip)?

  • @giggletronics Yeas, Vasily pressed it. But Vasily was also the first man to c&j 500 lbs, so this is actually the bar he jerked, not the one he pressed

  • easy,i can do it with left.

  • It looks like he is using an old york barbell with split sleeves. Definetely rotates.

Also I believe Vasily PRESSED 507lb. Very different to jerking, fucking PRESSED it.

  • what if he felll in to the crowd the crowd seemed rly close

  • @DanielSel definately rips the shit out of your hands :P

  • practically powercleans it wow

  • Rotating sleeves on barbells were created DECADES before 1970. This may habe been a barbell used by Alexeev but it's not possible that Alexeev ever competed using a barbell with non-rotating sleeves. Modern barbells -- i.e. post WWII -- have large diameter (50mm) sleeves so they can be built to rotate. Before rotating sleeves, barbells were one piece steel with the shaft and the sleeve being the same 28mm diameter.

  • anyone PLEASE tell me what the song in the background is, it sounds so familiar it's drivin me nuts. Thanks!

  • now show him choke slamming a woman .. thatd be something to see

  • How does this count he bent his knees???

  • @mg42slayer hes supposed to,its called a clean and jerk,ye do know what that is now?

  • @mg42slayer what's wrong with bending your knees?

  • what lift is this guy not dominating in? id say strongest human in the world

  • @SamGiam35 , he doesn't hold any top 10 records in the Squat, Bench or Deadlift--great Strongman though.

  • @Bergred he was an olympic lifter, there are no squat, deadlift or bench in that sport

  • @billysue2 --Your confused, I was replying to SamGlam35 saying this guy is the strongest human in the world. He's a nobody in the sport of PL; if you want to be considered truly the strongest like Kazamier who won Strongman World titles and PL world titles--your going to have to PL, this guy is a flash in the pan and is no Pud or Kaz.

  • @Bergred hes certainly not the strongest, that would have to be zavikas considering his incredible 1 rep max strength in strongman, and has an incredible deadlift without specialising in powerlifting like someone like andy bolton.Mikhail is no flash in the pan ,hes one of the best and hasnt been in strongman too long

  • @billysue, time will tell. This guy should've never left oly lifting.

  • @Bergred theres no money in weightlifting and was at the end of his career.

  • @billysue2, I was under the naive impression that Oly lifters at the World Class level overseas could make money--especially sponsoring stuff. I know some middle east country weight lifters have been paid some big amounts by some Shiek offering some incentives--of course that's not Europe.

  • @Bergred yeah they can make loads of money if they are olympians....loads a money

  • yes vasily pressed more than this weight. Misha is so outstanding across so many disciplines though. id like to another strongman competitor try this

  • but let's see him do it w/ a high-cut suit...

  • Snatch: Koklyaev is better (Alexeev 190 kg, Koklyaev 210 kg), C&J: Alexeev is better (Alexeev 256 kg, Koklyaev 250 kg).

  • @michaeljyu

Well Alexeev did break over 80 world records so I vote Alexeev...

  • @michaeljyu

dont forget that Alexeev never tested has Real max. instead he made a living out of breaking world record, because you got paid by the lots in sovjet when you broke a world record. so actually no one knows for sure how strong he was.

he has personally said that he might have been able to do about 290 kg when he was at his best

  • @dustinkerikke

    That's true!

  • "Mikhail Koklyaev becomes only the second man in history to lift this historic barbell. This is a 501lb Clean & Jerk. This bar was used by Alexeev in 1970 before olympic bumper plates and rotating bars were created."

That's in the description of the video. Just some food for thought.

  • Alexeev's 501 Clean & Jerk was done during the 1970 World Weightlifting competition in Columbus, Ohio. rotating barbells were used - in spite of what the video's description says. They have been used in all official weightlifting competitions since the 1930's. I was competing myself in the 70's.

  • Yikes, a non-rotating 500. Awesome.

  • jesus christ! thats world class power right there!

  • hey, isnt it dangerous, imagine he kept walking to the crowd and dropped the weights, probably 3 people wouldve died xD

  • i thought the exact same.

  • what?

  • no see when they would know that he would drop the barbell they would move out of the way, before he drops it

  • agree with freedomsoldier.

this is clean & jerk, but Alexeev

did a pure press.and not easy

    for him.very had for him.

if it's easy for he probably

    have done military press or

    push press too.

  • this is not the best weightlifting weight lifted, but i know, this is the world strongest man, he deep squats 360 kg raw, 410 kg deadlift with hook grip! AMAZING

  • strong, but not the strongest..

  • so easy for him!!!!!!!!

  • wow!!

  • wow!

  • Alexeev did clean and press this is a jerk

  • he's strong.

  • how much does the rolling bar help.i have a piece of shit bar that doesn;t move too.

  • If you're cleaning 500lbs, it helps a lot.

  • At this weight, imagine how tough it is using just wrist to roll all that weight.

  • There are ways around that.

  • alot.

  • this vid makes you feel weak..

  • the biggest CJ by KOKLYAEV was 240kg!!!

  • no,it was 255kg

  • actually I think it was 250KG

  • well 250KG in officla comp I should say

  • It was 225

  • The 250 KG was in response to someone talking about his heaviest Clean & Jerk period in which they said 255KG. Not this one which in KG.s is 227.5 actually.

  • @ifsaadmin

    252.5 actually

  • My bad. Thought you were speaking generally.

  • that is big

  • wasnt Alexxev pressing 236 kg? or did he make a jerk record also

  • yes he did also have the jerk record for a while until i think hossein rezazadeh

  • Numerous Soviet lifters broke Alexeev's record in the 80s.

  • The guy is just fun to watch. Awesome!

  • Aside from being a terrific sportsman, this man is a machine. A truly Universal athlete. He's a Strongman, he's a Powerlifter, he's an Olympic lifter. No one can compete with that. Bravo Mikhail!!

    --Excellent video broski...

  • not rotation on the bar!!!, hard times! well done

  • love stoned dj tiesto is playing in the background.

  • BETTER VOTE 5 STARS!!!

  • I was honored to have Terry Todd ask me to introduce this amazing feat to the Arnold Crowd. It was just AWESOME to see this happen!!! Great job Misha!!

  • ВООБЩЕ СУПЕР!!!

  • Misha is my hero!

  • MISHA IS THE MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • before olympic bumper plates and rotating bars were created. :O so they didnt hv rotating bar during those days I can imagine weightlifting without rotating bar

  • Non rotating bars can be really rough on the elbows in the snatch, dangerous really.

  • The audiences aren't very smart are they? He's amazing as usual. But why are they screaming while he's preparing for the jerk portion?

    Silly people.

  • Probably because he smoked the clean so hard

  • geez, maybe they were just cheering for him?

like in any sporting events.. crowd cheers n claps as the dude is preparing, d'oh
