  • What happened to the good old six speed manual? No one can argue the superiority of the DCT but manuals are more fun

  • Remember when video car racing games came out that allowed you to set up your cars parameters such as brake force, steering ratio, gearbox setting etc, then you raced and tweaked until you had the best times. Well now those gamers have grown up, gone to work for BMW, and make the game real. Kewl. Set and forget, or if inclined, tweak and test.

    Did u see any ferrari interior before ? .. it's much more expensive and enjoying than the M5 but it also has a lot of controls and buttons. but No body can say you should have a masters degree to drive a ferrari ! .. its just a matter of time .. one week at most and u'll get familiar to controls and evrything .. so dont panic, just go to ur BMW dealer and spend ur 100,000$ on that car cuz its AWESOME..!

  • @juancho939 what do yo mean, just go to car and driver and motortrend magazine's website, they did the tests on the new m5 , not me. but as for the e60m5? yeah i got 0-60 in around 4.1-4.2 seconds. do you want to see the video? maybe "you" just dont speak at all, unless you have facts to back shit up.

  • @mainlymusicman facts?? ok...Mercedes E63 (the previous model) had a claimed 0-60 time of 4.4 - 4.3 secs and it would beat the E60 M5 on a drag race from the beginning, when cornering it´s a differen story. BMW website, climed time for the E60 M5: 4.5 secs. Jeremy Clarckson´s own words reviewing the E60: "It´s a world of motoring perfection, a place where you can get from 0-60 in four and a half seconds (4.5). So there it is..."backed shit up".

  • @juancho939 lol.. neither of these was an actual test, you just quoted jeremy clarkson who was quoting BMW. so not sure what your point is. by the way the 4.5 seconds 0-60 time - EVERYONE knows was conservatively estimated, especially with bmw and mercedes, unlike the cts-v's manf. claimed 0-60 of 3.9 seconds which ive yet to see one actual real world test to confirm that. AND, in an actual test motortrend got a 0-60 time of 4.1 seconds for the m5 in their test between the cts-v and the e60 m5.

No one who ever buys a M5 (on top of the established range of 5 and 7 series) talks about luxury and comfort. You buy a M5 exclusively for performance, and it's almost always a contender to the GTR. Given that both cars roughly sell for the same price, it is definitely "Apples to Apples" the way I see it. I personally wouldn't buy either one. Too much a dick magnet.

  • @myjanuary151987 see, the difference between german cars and siemens is that german cars aren't made by scrap. what i mean by that is, most Jap cars give up some things for that comfort and price, but with german cars, you get exactly what you pay for. As for reliability.......german wins. i personally have owned a BMW for over 25 years and have replaced nothing except shocks and tires,naturally. i also had a nissan.....lasted 2 years. with 50,000 worth of repairs needed. it speaks for itself

  • @dude211000 You'd better drive your BMW on the roads of Russia, so you can see how reliable BMW suspension is. It's obvious that EU conditions are the way better for cars than in Russia, so German cars do not break down. The most inacceptable thing that I can't stand in German cars is the list of options. Is it so hard to get all the equipment like Japaneese do? Why shall I pay for everything, so the price goes terribly up? That makes me angry!

  • @Mtron1000 Just because of the engines. We have an X5M and a 2012 CLS63 AMG and the AMG engine is better. The new M5 uses the X5/6M's 4.4 TT V8 engine and it isn't a very exciting engine. The E60 M5's NA V10 was a beauty. This new engine sounds like shit and the AMG's sounds and feels amazing.

  • @Omega08082 Well duh, its cuz its a CLS, which compars to the M6 not 5 series, and even though the beamers have the same engines, they probably have different attachments like turbo chargers n stuff and their chassis are different too, as well as theyre exhausts which give different acoustics. The amg's engine is NUTS, u wldnt want to have a car thats trying to kill u no wld u?(figur of speech) Btw, im 13

  • @juancho939 The SLS and the R8 have naturally aspirated engines. I don't want turbocharged supercars. It's like putting turbochargers on the 6.5L Aventador V12, it's useless. We want high reving naturally aspirated engines, not this new twin turbo V8 limited to 7200 RPM.

    I meant the Transmission..Is it going to have a launch control . The M3 has 6 setting .....5 setting and the last one it would goes on the launch mode . Is this going to be like this as well and why 0-62 is 4.4sec . thats too slow for this car...should be at least 3.0 sec

  • @AHC63AMG This car was built to hold its position on the Market as a benchmark by which all others are judged. As for the CTS-V, the E63 beat the CTS-V even though the E63 was twice the price. The E63 was listed as always with conservative numbers just like the M5. Whe the E63 was pit against the CTS-V, GM's numbers were found to be a little exaggerated and the E63 conservative. The M5 has better numbers than the E63. With that said, this beast has moved the benchmark up a couple of notches.

  • @AHC63AMG BMW always under ranks their 0 60s they claim the E60 M5and M6 hit 60 in 4.8 seconds, when really its 4.2 Car and Driver tested the F10 M5 and claim they managed a 0 60 of 3.7 seconds and 100mph in 8.3 :)

  • This is a great overall car. Speed touring performance comfort. The CTSV is a worthy car in my opinion but if it is my choice the M5 is the way to go. At this level money would not be an issue.

  • @3yar1983 thats why they have M1 & M2 buttons, in a split second the car will go from 535i ala efficient mode to true M// racing setting. by then you're only hitting 60 and us M5 drivers will be finish with our tea.

  • Well they fell into the same trap. Why make everything adjustable? BMW needs to stop loading their sports cars and take the guess work out of setting important components up. Having everything adjustable only makes it less reliable.

  • @Buttnut105 That's the best feature ... when I drive on surface road I go into slowest gear changes, normal throttle, light on steering and soft suspension. Then when I hit mountain roads I change to fastest gear changes, sport throttle, firm steering, firm suspension ... doing that with 2 buttons is the best thing since 1 M-button.

  • @goguhu So you adjust five different things depending on the road? How is that good? Wouldn't you rather the car just adjust on its own or be fine tuned by their engineers to work beautifully everywhere? It should always be comfortable, always be fast, always change gear quickly, and always steer like an M car should.
