I saw that you used a razor blade to cut the tape while on the surfboard. Does this scratch the glassing on the board? Really nice art tho. Very talented...
@alexmatsuyama. thanks... with the one from this video i didn't cut on the board itself. i had this board made for me so i did the painting before it was glassed. with the other 2 boards i did cut on the glassing and being careful it didn't scratch them at all. if there was any marks they were filled in with the spray paint. (i think cutting on the board looks a lot better. much cleaner lines)

not really. this one was a commission from one of my bosses. the other 2 i did for some buddies. its a bit too pricey for me to get boards and sell them at the moment but it would be cool someday.
i made the mistake of using montana spray paint (oil based)...according to the shaper when they glass the board, oil based paint will bleed a whole lot. They saved me by spraying a clear coat of water based paint before they glassed it...so if your painting on the foam i would go for the water base
IMPRESSIVE. i don't know if i would have that much patience with an exacto knife haha. what did you coat the paper with before you cut the stencil out of it? scotch tape?

it was a long weekend that's for sure... i covered the paper with masking tape so it wouldn't rip as easily.

i had a big roll of banner paper i got at a normal art store and i covered it with tape so it would be a little stronger...
