@kuromahotsukai Well, I actually didn't know it existed with the chorus until one of my subscribers mentioned it to me. When I looked on YouTube to see if there was a version of it available, I could find nothing worth mentioning, so I bought the TELARC version and uploaded it. I am very glad you found it enjoyable. (*_*)
Great upload of the War of 1812 Overture. I enjoyed the addition of the choir for a different version to add to my listening pleasure. This music has such a dramatic and deep impact. Think about adding a small story about why Wagner wrote this song and the historical aspects of it. You would be surprised how many people have no idea of the significance of this overture. Thank you again!
Very few renditions of this include choir at the start, end, and the middle bit (around 8:30). I know of one other (the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Vladimir Ashkenazy). I feel the vocals add greatly to the impact of the piece overall, so I like these recordings the best. Thanks very much for uploading this recording!
@Rusvul Thank you for your comment. Forgive me for taking so long to get back to you.
I actually prefer the version without the chorus, however, one of my subscribers on my Afrikitty channel asked me to upload this. I was able to do it in HD and 720p for those who like good quality sound. Those who do like the choral version are actually quite fanatical about it, so I indulged them a bit with the cannons and used real cannons in the cinematography, which synched perfectly with the music.
@7thMarch1987 Thank you so much for posting this arrangement!! I actually performed this with my high school orchestra, and we used the choral arrangement too. It was hands down the most emotional performance of my life, since it was the last concert of my senior year, as well as my retired director's last show. The chorus adds so much to the feel of the piece.
@randomjeb Without going into too much jargon, SACD (Super Audio CD) is not a speaker system. It is a CD (Compact Disc).
There are 3 types of SACD, namely ":Hybrid", "Dual-Layer" and "Single Layer" - Google this to find out more. It is far better to have good front end, such as SACD and going cheaper on your amps and speakers to begin with. However, as you learn and discern your sound, you will eventually upgrade to better amps and finally to better speakers. NEVER buy your speakers first.
loved the cannons and the children's choir.
