I'm a huge blues fan, and from watching them play the entire year, David Perron is going to be something special. During the 07-08 year he made moves on players that were 12 years older then him. And he's is so smart with the puck. He is the next Pavol Datsyuk. Maybe better.
At 1st I thought he ran the goalie. But after looking at it over and over, I think it should have counted. The last reply clearly shows his body was being held and thrown off balance by the defender and asap he tried to stop. The defenseman let go but the damage was already done. He stopped but the goalie got the most of it. As a goalie myself, that goalie should have done a better job at holding his ground. And what the hell was that defender in front doing with his life??? Nice defense....
I agree with you, I guess this one of the things I miss about being away in another country, I can't watch the Blues have a good season and can't see all this new talent. Oh well, always next year.
Uh don;t get ne wrong cuz i'm a huge Blues fan and go to every game but they are sucking right now. We have no offense and Peroon almost never gets toplay because Andy Murray plays people like Tkachuk who is old and just needs to leave. But i'm still going to the games next year Lets Go Blues!!!!
Thanks, Srollans! I've been looking for a clip of this.
He went in there alone, with an opposing guy tailing all over him, and STILL scored. That was a beautiful goal! It kind of reminds me of Rick Nash's final goal at the World Championships this past year. =)
but even if you want to take that lame exscuse to whine about this goal you cannot even make a single negative comment about the way he deked the shit out of that russian
It's junior league, so relax - it's not a big deal. Everything can change in big league anyway, so don't get excited about Perron. Maybe we should concentrate on peewee league? =)
man maybe if the goalie wasnt such a pussy he could have stood his ground to save that for his team. im a goalie myself and i knwo it isnt hard to keep a guy from bulldozin ya
At 00:23, before the beginning of the replays, you can see a Russian player in the foreground pleading his case with one of the officials.
I also do think that the defenseman reaching out for Perron with his right hand provided enough reversal of momentum to legalize the contact with the goaltender. Perron made enough of an effort to avoid him.
In fact, you could argue that the defenseman would have received a penalty on the play had Perron scored.
Amazing goal, not to mention completely legal... he was thrown off balance into the goaltender, by the Russian defender. You've got to be blind, and possibly deaf, too, to call that cheap.
"Easy to score a goal like that"? Okay, that has to be the silliest statement ever. Easy for who? Gretzky? Also, it was clearly within the rules -- there was not a whisper of protest from the Russians after the goal.
F*CK protests and play is the philosophy of a real team, cuz it's refs decision and it won't be changed, so no point to argue anyway... I don't understand people who protest about refs decisions, cuz humans make mistakes anyway and we are not robots - just play !!!

Definitely better, and as you can see here Canada dominates Russia as always, especially at this level.
This goal is amazing, however I do feel sorry for the goalie because Perron pushes him out of the net. Not sure the goal should have been allowed.

Amazing. Perron has an amazing set of hands. Probably one of the best puck handlers I've seen in a long time. What a day to be Blues fan!!!

Again, if the goal shouldn't have counted, why didn't the Russians complain? It was clearly within the rules.

how, cause the goalie can't stay in his crease?

He's a great hockey player. He'll be a superstar.. But I don't think it should have counted. If it happened against your team you'd be pissed.

You're so blind for not seeing the way the goaler was pushed out of his zone.

There is nothing in the IIHF rules to disallow this goal.

Easy to score a goal like that when you push the goalie like a Bulldozer

It was a fair goal. No penalty. The score counts.
