But, there is one thing I just thought of, even though I've seen this one a couple hundred times, if the driver of the Mercedes had just matted the pedal there's no way that pickup going in reverse could've kept up with them. This film was meant to be a dark comedy. The production company pulled most of the budget and demanded many cuts in the script during filming, so the screenwriter had to rewrite it during filming. It was supposed to have a better screenplay, but Golan-Globus ruined that with their cat-and-mouse games. That's the shame; it was going to be a far better film than is finally was.

moreover, in film and television, true speeds are rarely shot, even if high speed is implied (on trick is just shooting a sequence at a tame speed, then speeding up the film during editing)
