my story is stranger, I was raised Catholic but no one ever told me about demonic toys but as I kid I was sure that some toys were indeed evil and dangerous. I even came up with a pseudo telepathic means of telling the difference between 'good' toys and 'evil' toys. Strangely enough Jesus had nothing to do with it, odds are I was influenced by the spirit of craziness of Catholicism without adopting its mythology proper
For me it was coffee, which is forbidden to Mormons, but also Coca Cola, which isn't forbidden by the church but Mormon mothers tend to have issues with, probably because there is no real reason for coffee and tea to be forbidden so they just assume it's the caffeine
