It's chemical warfare out there. Those athletes who say they are clean are taking the most steroids. Remember the dominance of the East Germans and Russians at the Olympics. We know today that they had two massive helps: Stay and Roids. Ever wondered how the Chinese dominated too? Yep, they had the same two helps. Any progress the authorities have made in detection, those in the know are two steps ahead in masking agents. Only a fool would be caught today.

Just imagine how athletes got away with "The Clear"...a steroid created for the sole purpose of passing a drug test...until the IOC was alerted by a trainer. It's sad to say, but each time a world record is shattered there will ALWAYS be scrutiny for the athlete who does it. The cheating has gone on for far too long now. It's to the point that we don't know what "real" is anymore concerning certain sports.

@MrCancetropic, in terms of time Ben's first 40m (4.66) was surpassed by Maurice Greene in 2001 (4.64), and Greene's mark was equalled by Bolt in Berlin....Asafa has two 4.65 from his 9.72 & 9.74 runs.....Ben's start was unique though, it is interesting to think what he would have run on a modern tech. track

I know he was juicing. And I know faster times have now been run. BUT, that was the most explosive, immaculate, dynamic, superb start EVER. That first 40-50m has STILL never been matched in either speed or form. Bolt may have run a 9.58, but this 9.79 was art in motion. Damn the drugs, but damn that was really special.

Top athlete today are caught the moment they start taking drugs. I dont see riders in the Tour de France getting away with drug use anymore or even weightlifters in the last olympics, (entire teams were caught).
People generally think top athlete take drugs because athletes from their own countries suck.

@obrad79 Bolts height is unique, giving him almost half the amount of strides than other competitors, and from an early age he was energetic, ran races and therefore trained so hard his entire life in a good climate (Jamaica) and had the right mentality and has improved so much from the past due to clothing, track, shoes and in general better high-tech equipment

@turnbacktime Do you know that? Usain Bolt was and still is one of my favorite athletes of all time. I am happy that he runs as fast as he does and I will never miss his races. However, I accept that he is on some sort of PED. It's ignorant, knowing the shape of his career, to assume he is totally clean and to trust the testing process. Case in point, Seoul 1988. I competed in T&F and know many people inside the sport amateur and professional who know way more than you do.

@turnbacktime this is also true..no one is judgement free, i know it's harsh not giving athletes the benefit of the doubt, but this is what happens when doping programs (e.block/balco) are part of t&fs past, HOWEVERRRR ....when u have someone like bolt, a natural genetic freak, we can be slightly more sure he would have to take LESS PEDs than others to do his business but yet again its a conclusion based upon no real solid evidence of our own, maybe t&f realised we need a bolt to keep it alive??
