After trying to use multiple fast cars in this mission and failing numerous times, I stole a bus and rammed her car once with it. It then rolled around twice and exploded. The chase didn't last even 10 seconds.

Get a strong car (GTA wiki recommends a Comet or a Phoenix; I used an SUV, had to slow down on turns but it still works). Follow her slowly until her car turns onto a street beside a long wall or building. Stop to let her gain some distance before accelerating and ramming her into the wall/building. If her car is pinned to the wall long enough, you should take off 75% or more health, and it shouldn't be too hard to tail her and finish her off.

You dont have to use the assult rifle, you can use an uzi or pistol.

The best way to Mrs Dawson is to type in PANZER and you will get a tank. That way you don't need to fire weapons at her car and so fail the mission. Just use the tank to ram into her car and it will explode her car without the need to use weapons. Job done! Mission Completed!
