I'll be doing this song as a Winter Concert with all my singing teacher's students and some of my friends and family. I'm really looking forward to singing it. It's such a beautiful song and has so many different meanings to different people
I don't see, and maybe it's because I'm an American, but I don't catch anything in the lyrics that indicate it being particularly Irish, I think it is universal, like love.
My college choir recently did a choral version of this. I was lucky enough to sing the melody, and the accompaniment is basically the same. It really encompasses the Irish culture, and the lyrics are some of the most inspiring and true I've heard in a long time. It's refreshing to hear it sung by a solo voice; the simplicity of the ideas behind the song hides the true meaning, inviting you to find yourself in the music.
Wow! Now THAT is an Irish blessing! The music and the singing were the best of Irish melody and harmony. After listening, I am ready to go take on the day!
Great Song!!!!!!! Does anyone know if there is a karaoke version of this?

@durdle1701 It can be universal but they do Celtic music along with universal, but this is an Irish folk song.

I know what you mean. The Irish feel lies in the melody and tune of the music though. It's subtle, but it's definitely there.
