  • Blondie does Motown Style here! Probably the most versatile band ever.

  • Who wrote this one? Anyone? Bueller?

  • @JohnnyCxviii Slow Motion written by L Davis and Jimmy Destri, Jimmy is the band's key board player but I don't know who L Davis is, any body know?

  • Much better then the Vandellas original in the 60's.

Shangri-las did a good job too.

  • Clem is one of the best!

  • She is one of the most effortlessly beautiful woman in the world and for all of her different looks she also adapts a persona becuase she is also a good actress!!! Sae her last month in Palm Desert and she and the rest of the band are still Amazing!!!!!!

  • I was 19 then...nice!

  • totally unique and way out of my league!

  • How is she so fucking EFFORTLESSLY hot and sexy???? In this clip She looks tired, hung over, drug fucked, messed up hair...........but SOOOOooooooo fucking naturally sexy regardless!

  • @boltonox charisma is the word you're searching for.

  • @dschonsie Charismatic? definately, but i was refering to her having an almost indiscribable quality that ive NEVER seen on ANY other women EVER were regardless of her state of being, she is still sensually feminine and desirable without effort. I think it must be just HER as a person because the quality im talking about isnt primarily EXTERNAL though it effects it for sure. Id love to meet her.

  • @boltonox 1979 was a very, very taxing and grueling year for Blondie. Compare Debbie's "fresh" appearance in early 1979 on the Midnight Special, for example, to the autumn of '79 when this was filmed- a big difference. The strain was taking its toll on the band, especially Debbie. Then again, here her make-up is a lot heavier, too.

  • @crapple009 Maybe, but she could have had a big night or month out just prior. I didn't mean she looks BAD in this clip, i like her look. Its classy bad ass cool. But i will bet you she was ripped off her tits in this clip. If she'd been living it up in 79, why wouldn'tcha! Id have been off MY FACE!

  • @boltonox Definitely. Though she's fairly sedate here (bored?). Perhaps a vodka or two plus something herbal (if so, the Visine definitely helped ;-)).

  • @boltonox Debbie said they would shoot the videos for Eat To The Beat early in the morning 5/6am they all look tired it wasn't like the pampered video of today were talking 31yrs ago It was all pretty basic Debbie would do her own makeup/hair If you think of it 5 albums in 5yrs from 1976/80 touring constantly for 4 year.I think she and the band are aloud to look tired. Debbie still looks F**king amazing more than any other female singer I have ever seen and believe me I have seen nearly all.

  • @wallyinwales Oh thanks for that info. I wasn't saying she doesn't look HOT. Ive never seen a more beautiful woman's face in my life, and ive seen PLENTY where i live! I really like the fucked-up "mannequin on heroin" dead pan facial expression she has in this video. Your right, that's a lot of work in a short space of time alright. She was the REAL ROCK'N' DEAL, unlike the Disney/ SonyCorp crap of today.

  • @boltonox You got it so right with her expressions I see it in a lot of their video but none more so than this video.

  • @wallyinwales Yeah i know what your talking about. Ive seen it in a lot of her video's too. "Picture this" "In the Flesh" I like the intensity in her eyes with minimalistic facial expression but im sure its not deliberate or structured. More to do with FEELING the song, as she is singing i would say. And then suddenly she smiles and its like the sun appearing from behind the clouds. Her whole face lights up and her eyes laugh and twinkle. Very nice to watch.

  • Reminds me of Diana Ross and the Supremes

  • @gleesongroupmedia Definitely- good call. The over-all feel and atmosphere was no doubt intended and an homage to the Tamla-Motown sound. The "Stop"s in this song is exactly the same as the ones in the Supreme's "Stop In The Name Of Love". Blondie was always a tongue-in-cheek band and so playfully clever.

  • wow.......it is wery prety women

  • Because it wasn't released as a single its on the album Eat To The Beat.

  • Probably one of her best songs never to get into the charts....Awesome tuneeeee...!!!!!!!!!!

  • @celticpark100 Totally agree! But they have about 10 other tracks that would have been hits if they were released as singles also, i believe. Especially "Detroit 442" edgy hard driving relentless Punk tempo ROCKS! It would have given them some harder Rock fans for sure.

  • @celticpark100 Yep, Good call on that. I think "Slow Motion" would have been a MONSTER "out of left field" hit in that very experimental music era. Maybe one of their biggest. It has a Motown feel with the BLONDIE and DH slick punkish edge too it. This song is more ADDICTIVE than crack! I find myself singing the lyrics to myself in the middle of business deals latley. It just starts up, anytime, anywhere. The most Silky sweet vocals ever by Deborah!

  • TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!! I LOVE YOU DEBORAH!

  • Mesmerizingly Beautiful and that voice she had it all. No one has ever come close in the ultimate coolness of Debbie Harry.

  • uno de mis temas favoritos de Blondie! Gracias!!!!!

  • If I could live inside of this song I totally would.

  • Tienen razón ella es hermosa, la música también, el sonido es claro, saludos desde Perú.

  • And she can sing "a little" too! ;-)

  • My wife looks just like Debbie and is really sweet and other things I can't write here. I am a very lucky man.

  • pure Motown style. Great

  • One of the first and original "hipster" bands!

  • thank God for syncing vids...much better than looking at the cover art alone

  • Wow, I wish I looked like her

  • Sexiest eyes ever...

  • First video without top rated comment "LOL 12903890 BIEBER FANS DISLIKED THUMBS UP IF U AGREE"

  • @WiktorWolinski That's because no one can dislike this song!

  • Gee-sus...She is bloody GORGEOUS....thank you for posting zztops003

  • Wow, god's momentary perfection.

  • Never recovered from the fact that I passed on seeing her play in the Edinburgh Odeon in mid-70's; what a fool!

  • 0:03 <3

  • I throw this... to my favourites :)

  • none of these current pop hose (brittney, gaga, aguilera) even come close to debra. she had a stage aura about her that none can emulate.

  • Thanks so much for posting this vid... Love this song!

  • I wish I would have bought this album! Never heard some of these songs before....

  • So hot Debbie!

  • What's all the commotion going on?... It is Blondie in town kicking asses and making our lives go in Slow Motion... Simply beautiful

  • Clem Burke is God - not a bad song either!

  • Ah, the George Harrison 'break'.

  • Awesome group with a great sound! Makes me happy!!

  • Debbie is a knockout, I love to listen her voice- I'll never get tired of her music.

  • i love debbie.

  • beautiful..

  • Great music . . . think a lot of people ( male and female ) are ogling Debbie Harry and maybe then listening to the sounds

  • Comment removed

  • nice sound quality

  • With that face she should have been a MOVIESTAR!

  • you're truly one hell of a beauty Debbie, will you be my valentine ?

  • She's outstanding what a singer, Debbie Harry is one of a kind. I wonder where this was filmed at or the year.

  • The year is on the title...

  • the whole album 'Eat to the Beat' was released as a video cassette, and each song had its own clip.

    Magical album.

  • The most BEAUTIFUL woman in the world !!!

  • @poosssy I have always thought so as well.

  • @poosssy no doubt

  • @poosssy she's got my vote

  • Franky is in this vid! This is from the "Eat To The Beat" video album set.

  • youre a fan of infante, too?! :)

  • Yes i am a fan of Frankie and all the other guys. Just about went broke and had to call in alot of favours to go see Blondie get inducted in the HoF and it just about broke my heart to see them beg to play and then refused the honor. They were there in the day and we all remember who was in the band then. Have seen many good bands in the day, but i won't forget the 1st time i saw Blondie!

  • @lamarhooten

and jimmy, and nigel, and frank and clem and debbi and chris.

were my heroes, 30 years ago!!

  • oh, i see you were responding to other comments, lamar, and not necessarily focused on frank infante. well, i think the guy underutilized but certainly great with his minimal contributions to this band.

  • clem is such a pro, brilliant!!

  • Man she is beautiful :-) Thx 4 sharing.......

  • correction : Jimmy Destri wrote Atomic sorry my mistake .... and Dun kin Donuts paid almost $ 20,000 a year back then .... last comment sorry .............

  • One last comment to add some spice to this tape , Debbie give up running a Dun kin Donuts for the band and later a career at Max`s Kansas City New York .......

  • @Mastercorder Had never heard that one before, the one about Debbie and Dunkin' Donuts. Ever.

  • Gary Valentine was one of the original founders of the band along with Debbie and Chris Stein , Gary wrote X offender atomic and many others some song he wrote by real experience that Debbie had in her life together they put words and music to her lifetime experiences .. Frank came in later or shortly after ....

  • @Mastercorder The founders of the band really were Debbie and Chris. Clem joined and through Clem, Gary joined. But the original bassist, before Gary, was Fred Smith who would go on to join the band Television.

  • Debbie Harry

    Chris Stein

    Gary Valentine

    Clem Burke

Nigel Harrison " who was really cool "

Jimmy Destri " engineer key boards "

orginal Debbie Harry Band members ...

  • @Mastercorder Where's Frankie in your list? Frankie joined before Nigel did. In fact Nigel was the last to join. By the time Frankie and Nigel joined, Gary was already out of the band.

  • Frank is not in this video ... Gary Valentine ... Frank came later ........

  • Finally a decent copy of slow motion thank you so much for putting this on ....
