You actually know how to use link really well. This guide IS for mostly computer opponents though. There are several useful advanced techniques that can really improve a link player. This is a great starting place. I really think that link has been much improved since melee with the gale boomerang. Awesome vid.

ummm actually from a lot of games testers link is a good player for both experts and newbs like me lolz. Because he has a good range of projectiles that can keep the oppenent at bay and minimize damage and has a very good upwards smash also when you are coming down if you point links sword down it is very hard to counter for newbs (as far as i know sorry if im wrong) the only rival starter character is pit well for me.

This video is extremely gay. No wonder you bitched twice in annotations about us flaming your ass. Some of the shit here was *really gay*. This is utter crap compared to Izaws video of REAL techniques not this throw a bomb into the air then jump to the enemies opposite side and zomg wtf kick him into it. GAY. Half the video was crap. Im not saying this to be mean, but i think you should use Toon Link, yeah i know, he is a bit weaker, but he is faster, higher jump (which actualy is stronger) and same move set, but if your good with normal link, then thats fine, im just sayin Toon Link is my fav. i'll mail u my brawl code, and reply with urs, some tips with link witch u didn't say, (basicly for toon link) is the double wall jump off one wall, i will post a video response soon showing it!

hey its me, thelegendofbrawl, on my bro's account. well i find its easyer to try and avoid grabs all together, keep your distance, use bombs to keep them away keep pushing back with projectiles, once there stunned go in with z-air or DAC etc..but yea hold a bomb to escape from chain grabs

on my bros account still, this is me though. well, i just jump in the air, and try to throw a bomb directly infront of the reflecter so the explosion damage knocks them out of it, or throw the bomb behind or on top of them. even let the bomb cook for a sec or too before throwing it, so it explodes rite before it an bounce off the reflecter.
I still hate link. The bombs don't go as far (comparing everything to melee), boomerang doesnt go as fast or knock as far, but the arrows travel further, faster and has more knock back. The gale boomerang is pretty useless when playing a person who knows what the heck you MAY be doing, and the UpB doesn't combo any more until the actual knock comes. Charging the UpB may also be useful, but it is useless when edgeguarding now(semi spikes were the best). But even with this, I hate Toon even more.
I don't know why people flame you, this taught me some things I don't really use, and I have been a link player since Melee came out. Great video, hope to see more.
This is a really good basic guide for Link, you've done well. I mained link 1st half of melee, switched to marth and kinda forgot about him, gonna swap back now seeing lzaw's vids :P
the only REAL bad thing about link is his recovery which is why he's placed quite low on tier lists. aside from that, he is all around good. despite what people say link can have very good aerials if you can set them up, and like the video suggests, he does have the best projectiles in the game.

I'm glad you put for begginers. This gives people a steady base for them to build their techniques. But for "Projectile Based" you shouldn't dodge away that much. Instead, just short hop or jump away while throwing something. Much more effective. Again, these are good basic combos. Thanks for the vid.

The combos seem useful in the video, but may I remind you that you were fighting against a deadbeat 2P... In fact, the 2P seems to be you, as well. Most of those combos are easily DI'ed or dodged out of, so you might want to rethink those.
to play as link in brawl you need to have some experience with him from past titles! even though they have evolved you still have an idea on the gameplay with link!
Sorry to let you know, but Link CAN NO LONGER do bomb jumps in Brawl. In Melee he could, search it up. The version yours displayed is not helpful for a recovery at all.

The gale boomerang is pretty useless when playing a person who knows what the heck you MAY be doing, and the UpB doesn't combo any more until the actual knock comes. Charging the UpB may also be useful, but it is useless when edgeguarding now(semi spikes were the best). But even with this, I hate Toon even more.

the only REAL bad thing about link is his recovery which is why he's placed quite low on tier lists. aside from that, he is all around good. despite what people say link can have very good aerials if you can set them up, and like the video suggests, he does have the best projectiles in the game.

I'm glad you put for begginers. This gives people a steady base for them to build their techniques. But for "Projectile Based" you shouldn't dodge away that much. Instead, just short hop or jump away while throwing something. Much more effective. Again, these are good basic combos. Thanks for the vid.

I find it ridiculous that when one member of the Brawl community tries to do the rest of the community good by trying to teach the beginners some tricks of the trade, he is mocked by people like haviklink.
This video is very useful, thank you for posting it so that people may be able to explore Link's possibilities more. As a Link mainer, I really wish to see more people appreciating the green-clad Hylian. After 3 games, he deserves some attention.

The combos seem useful in the video, but may I remind you that you were fighting against a deadbeat 2P... In fact, the 2P seems to be you, as well. Most of those combos are easily DI'ed or dodged out of, so you might want to rethink those.

Lol most of these are easy to get by and are only annoying, and they usually don't work against level 5 or higher...
Try playing against someone who actually can fight back. And "The Art of Link" really is a great video.
