  • i troll mann's stretch 25's

  • Nice fish. That is an awesome plug you are using. I keep at least 2 Lex Metal Lip Danni Plugs in my surf bag at all times. I get so much action on them I usually have to re finish them every season. Thanx for the post..Tight Lines

  • Nice catch, great handling and release of that fish. Good job !!

  • what pound test

  • @fishinfobass88 He says 20lb in the vid

  • Sweet fish and real nice video.

  • i wonder how they taste

  • That is just to much fun!!!!

  • you guys who say" release the fish" are true american retarded fucks. Do you guys have any idea how many stripers exist?

"Release the fish... maybe another mexican will catch it and take it for dinner"

  • @TheDanielm1991andaha Totally agree, fish are meant to be eaten not to be released theres millions of them just keep it, they will always reproduce

  • @TheDanielm1991andaha Bro shut up you are the retard. If you had any idea of mortality rates and how long it takes a fish to get that size and how many die you would shut your mouth and disagree. So Shut up That guy did the right thing to release a fish of that size. That means alot more will be able to get that size with the amount of eggs that one particular fish can produce.

  • I wunt to catch a fish like that

  • Bait fisherman says: WHAT! YOU DIDN'T EAT HIM?!

  • Awesome video! Sweet striper, fantastic fisherman! This guy knows what he's doing and does it well. Fish on!

  • I know that spot very well! Also it's nice to see someone not only take care of a big bass like that but release it to fight another day, nice video

  • Best way to fish. That current is incredible!

  • im pretty sure you dont need a 9 foot pole for a fish that size

  • @DavidJeeminChang The length of the pole doesn't matter (to an extent) for how big the target species is; the power (stiffness) of the rod does. The longer rod just helps casting distance.

  • in new jersey hackensack and hudson rivers only get like 3-4 pound strippers wahh we also get lots of blues fluke and flunder

  • @dboot90 4 big striper u need clams n blood worms, sends em screaming over 2 u in da hudson, saw a 25 lber caught 2 weeks ago off manhattan side of da river

  • @guapman11 i use sandworms and they work good

  • You guys are so lucky with your huge stripers! Our bass only grow to around the twenty pound mark, but a ten pounder plus is relatively rare. A ten would be around 15 - 20 years old as they grow so slow. That said we get loads in the 1 to 3 pound

size. there are more bass now than when I was a lad!

  • Seriously, you snarky "fishermen", with your "Um"s and "Something to consider, eh?" are a bigger pack of bitches than high school girls. You make the fishing forums suck and you get it all over YouTube too. Really. This guy is catching fish and sharing the joy. Why don't you shut up and go eat a whole scup backwards, starting with the anal passage. Bitches, nothing better than primadonnas, and all about catching goddamn fish.

Thanks, Capt, for ANOTHER kickass video. Keep em coming.

  • wait what bait did he say we was using?

  • remember friends...one bass landed on the beach is worth 30 from a boat.

  • @dirtdogg3000 Sounds like something people who aren't good at fishing from a boat would say....

  • where is this?

  • yeah! nice fish...although I'd like to see all treble hooks without the barb, and when a person releases the fish, make sure the fish is "headed" against the flow of water. If not, water is going into the gills and down his throat and/or out this mouth.

    Something to consider, huh?

  • Thats a big fish but isnt your gear WAY too heavy? Im using lighter gear for one meter pikes..

  • Boat fish don't count. Nice fish though =)

  • nice

  • Can you please tell me what kind of plugs are the right ones to cast with a surf rod?

  • I love plugging but most of the fat striped bass don't waste their energy on a plug they scavage the bottom. If i pop for a striper i get mostly schoolies buy if yer in the small ones bust out a flie rod and a sreamer and thats a fight.

  • FISH ON BROTHER!!

  • I've noticed alot of nice stripers in my area too, I toss em back too, but believe me I have a photo op first. Nice fish

  • great video!

  • i have to agree throw in some blusfish and you have a busy day

  • nice fish!

  • I fish for those here on Lake Lanier. Topwater is indeed the most fun. You can really get into them in spring and fall with a chug-bug or pencil popper.

  • Thanks for releasing the fish.

  • I agree with Peakay. Nice fish Sir.

  • That thing looks so small in the water..

    but when he pulled out..

    GOD DAMN THAT HUGE!!!!!!!

  • is that a mako your fishing out of? what size?

  • nice fish man!

  • Very nice fish, the gentleman in the video said it best, top water fishing is highly exciting especially when you can see the fish splashing as a result of chasing the lure/plug ect.....

  • wens the best time to use a topwater in the ocean

  • Windy times or early morning & twilight..

  • yeah windy times and early morning today i threw a knucklehead popper while the wind was blowin and the sky was dark i caught 3 bass that were all around 8 or 9 lbs it was a lot of fun

  • Beautiful fish and a perfect release. He will live to spawn some day. Congratulations.

  • at least u know how to fish, none of that rich johnson bullshit!! ahahha hes a total hack

  • Ahhh ive had 1 of em chasing me bait from a kayak in the hMPTONS, AMAZING EXPERIENCE ME BEING FROM DENMARK AND OUR FISHING AINT AS GOOD AT ALL

  • boring

  • your a big jug you know

  • How do these fish taste? I live pretty close to lake texoma in texas and we have them there but i dont know if they taste better from the fresh water or the salt water or if they taste the same

  • Never ate freshwater stripers but I have caught and eaten the saltwater ones. Delicious. I prefer them in steak cut but most people get them filleted.

  • freshwater stripers don't taste as good as salt water stripers. i don't even waste my time eating the freshys.

  • i agree with you , salt water stripers are just the best . im not a fan of freshwater stripers!

  • my dad catches stripper and say they are a great eating fish and the meat it very lean and soild not all mushy like cat fish so try it

  • topwater is the way to go!!

  • yea but i wander does surface pluggng work for sea bass in the uk? i know shallow and deep divers do.

  • Whats a good reel other than a van staal or saltiga (too pricey) for plugging with a spinning reel?

  • the penn ssg series are great, go for about 120$

  • penn reels are good spinning reels and very durable to

  • anyone else addicted to the sound when a big fish hits a lure on the surface, i am. greatest thing in the world

  • catch and release...wish more people would do this freshwater here in Jersey

  • he sounds like a new yorker, close enough

  • excellent video - looking forward to more!!!

  • Man the current is ripping ass through there, nice fish BTW

  • EXCELLENT FISH WOW!

  • Good to see an old timer with such finess,Thank you for the tips.

  • Nice rock, nothing like top water, where do you fish?

  • nice slam to the deck.

  • watch sc deer and santee

  • He should of kept it in the boat so he could slam it on the rocks later to see how its guts look.

  • i like the way you slammed her down on the deck.whatever don't kill you makes you stronger, right?

  • I LOVE STRIPER FISHING! <3

  • Who doesn't!?

  • love it

  • interesting setup. nice work.

  • what is the best way to catch striped bass

  • grenades

  • NICE

  • fukin hell godd fish!

  • nice fish man

  • who ever you are, sir, you certainly know your shit...awesome vide by all accounts, and a fat fish. keep on keepin on. mahalo.

  • Send me that reel.

  • good job, nice setup, nice fish! ****

  • great job. excellent fish. very happy for the catch and release method. besides, bigger fish should be caught for the fight and never for a meal. more anglers should feast on smaller fish. it just ashame how the numbers of big fish are dropping because a good fight makes a great fishing trip and an even better story to share. Thanks for sharing and keep reeling!

  • nice fish
