  • does anybody know where i can get the sheet music for this ???

  • au genatale shvilikoo..ra kargad ukrav..

  • Horowitz 's playing shows he knows Mozart. As the other guy ssaid, Horowit'z articulation made a big difference . The orchestra 's playing is excellent too, though not as vivacious as the pianist.

  • Quanta intelligenza, quanta sottilezza

  • I really, really love Horowitz's articulation

  • horowitz is bonkers.lol

  • this is great i love to really see how much ppl have when they play if the thumping bothers you just turn down the volume on the computer

Great vid thanx for the upload

  • It sounds as if he is thumping a lot in the left hand. I had to stop listening. It could be the recording. When it is loud the sound seams to overload the microphone. I think the recording level needs to be reduced.

  • its the recording he's not 'thumping' as you not so delicately put it!

  • Horowitz is a genius!!!!

  • Mozart you soar.

  • 3:31 is the genius part of this performance.

  • la perfezione.......la posizione delle mani,tutto super

  • Can some one tell me where I can find this piece on the internet for free? (Sheet music)

  • I'd imagine it being public domain by now.... try scribd

  • Don't know. But I can tell you it is a Deutsche Grammophon CD 423 287-2, from 1987. I love to put it in the boombox of my 1963 Fod Galaxy convertible and blast it as I drive down the uncultured byways of LA where idiots roam but I hope to edicate them.

  • Horowitz e Mozart:2 leggende che si incontrano!!

  • wonderfulllllllllllllllll!!! horowitz e mozart!!! 2 grandi!!!

  • somewhat hard-touching sometimes!

  • perfect!

  • can you imagine. Mozart just imagined this hard classical music on his head without any instrument in front of him, and then he just wrote it. what a GENIUS composer...

  • he's more than a genius, he's been a living legend !!!!

  • That is exaggerated. They just said that in the movie. To make it more interesting.

  • but mozart has had a very very good ear, he transcripted a 6 voice mottetto just listening to it :)

  • True- but if you look closely at pure facts, you'll figure that he probably had about 160 IQ.

  • dude i'd get mad if even horowitz messes with the orchestra im conducting

  • Vielen Dank fürs Video! Wunderbar!!!!!!

  • mozart was really genius

  • Just think, Mozart wrote pieces like this in his head..and all their doing is performing his music...that old man is awesome..lol

  • Simply wonderful!

  • Pretty damn good for 84 years old.

  • The genious played by a genious.. incredible..

  • @sektitevgrobaa ...conducted by a genius, as well. ;)

  • @sektitevgrobaa Horowitz was no genius. And neither are you, that's for sure. LEARN HOW TO SPELL GENIUS FIRST.

  • @sektitevgrobaa You probably know this, but you spelt genius wrong... TROLOLOL

  • Which year was this taken into?

  • I think 1987

  • look at those fingers... amazing!!

  • Because this is the video for a studio recording. You don't really play the dynamics the same way.

  • Talking about trying this piece myself, I would have to practice a lot!:) This piece is not easy for me at all! The reason why I "criticize" (well you said so right?) this genius was that I love this concerto, and have listened to a variety of versions by different pianists. Horowitz's is not my favorite, but anyway, I love him a lot!

  • I did not say he would play Beethoven "pianissimo" like you have assumed. In my opinion, Horowitz is a great master, I love him and admire the way he interprets romantic music. There are days when I spend hours listening to his recordings of Chopin's works. His technique and emotion are beyond comparison.

However, what I mean was that I would love it much more if he plays some certain chords more lightly, eg. at 1:31. For this piece I prefer the version of Pletnev's.

  • I love Horowitz but... I think he is more suitable to the Romantic era than the Classical era. This is a bit too "forte" for Mozart.

  • I cannot stop watching this video! The song is very graceful and his playing is just incredible. Would his hand movements have to do anything with the "Mozart Effect" or is it

    a "just-for-fun" sort of thing?

  • Horowitz had a way of making the piano sound like an orchestra. His sound was beyond belief as was his musical flow.I was fortunate enough to have seen him live one time, and it was easily the finest concert in my lifetime. To just refer to him as a poet of the piano does not do him justice. Bravo!

  • I love watching the old master play. I got this on my ipod, he has wonderful tone.

  • This is really amazing , Horowitz is fantastic

  • jaaj, sorry Cleopatra11, I didn't mean of course what I wrote; i meant that it was A unique characteristic of Mozart's music, did't mean of course that it was the only characteristic

  • Pitty that Mozart couldnt hear Horowitz.

  • I think this is Horowitz's last concerto recording. Clearly having the time of his life with conductor Guilini whom he knew he could work with.

  • I love Mozart and I love Horowitz!

  • ME TOO !!! They are the finest in the history of humanity!!!

  • jaja, that's the thing about mozart's music, it makes all the people around happy and make them just have agood time, that's the UNIQUE characteristic in mozart's music, and it's proved here

  • Check out the Love Theme from Grant Foster's "War; Peace; Love" performed by Mirra Yevtich with the New Russia Orchestra. It is really something

  • Great! Thanks for posting this!

  • Fascinant !

  • GREAT!!!!

  • Wow. Lightning hands.

  • I like it

  • He's really having fun ^^. Great performance!!

  • Ditto ^^

  • love this song. Thank you to whoever posted it. I was wondering what orchestra that was though?..If only there was one of him doing #19 too.

  • Orchestra Alla Scala i.e. the orchestra of the famed La Scala opera theatre in Milano

  • Well done Horowitz!! You are the master, love you for ever.
