here we have a nurse doing drugs, stealing from the hospital it looks like to support her habit. She snorts and smokes who knows what to get high. Is this right? Is this how we want our nurses to be portrayed? One that steals, gets high on the job, sleeps around, and whores herself at work?

You all have to choose. Every adult in this world can freely choose to do Good or Evil. This nurse is doing evil, and for some reason you lift that up.

Even the most uplifting person has done something others would disagree with or dislike them for. If you want to watch people on TV who dont do wrong and there is always a happy ending, there are other channels and programming you can tune in to.

Nurse Jackie and Hawthorne are raising awareness of nursing. That is a good thing. People have no idea of the challenges of the nursing profession. So what if their job is sensationalized for TV. That's entertainment. I recommend these shows to many I know. I trust that people have the intelligence to separate out that nurses are people too. Some may be saints at work and home, and some may not. Nurses are people too. We can't raise awareness and hide the ugly truth at the same time.
