no its right because you will feel pain on your thumb joint that means your holding it right if you feel that pain you have it all wrong and a herrizon is a thing to refresh your bow

for begginers who cant afford lessons and gotta work it out themselves, e.g. moi, even though these videos are really obvious to many i'm sure there are some parts which some people, me included, would not have known and could've screwed up due to not knowing. its helpful for complete begginers and basics

It is EXACTLY for that reason that the BASICS should be taught correctly. Trust me (pro cellist and teacher) this is NOT it. If you want to learn the basics, go check out "cello chat" - much safer!

I got a cello for christmas, now I don't have to rent anymore. I hated me old cello, I had been renting it for about 3 years, and it was HORRIBLE! I think it was the same modle he is using...haha idk, but I love my new one.

I named him Danotello, and my bow Enrique

This is appalling... for so many reasons. But first and foremost overtightening the bow like that can have very bad results in deed - there should be a very large curvature still visible - a gap slightly more than the thickness of the stick between the stick and the hair. Please stop posting these videos as if you know what you are talking about.
