@murfsickle nitrous cannot explode unless mixed with fuel. tank leaks have no chance of combustion. but it could fill your car with happy gas and then its giggles for miles.

@Chicostreetracing no pressure gauge on the bottle didn't seem like there was any timing delay either and a 75 hp for a stock 4 cylinder is 25 HP too much this kind of set up is just asking for trouble. timing delay: 1.5 to 2 degrees initial + 1 degree for every 25 (thats what destroyed your piston)
get a pressure gauge and mount bottle properly optimal pressure is 900psi but you can "safely" have it at 1200psi, colder spark plugs will also keep engine detonation chances to a minimum

@JJ4207421 It actually helps keep it safe rolling around. Because when it's tied down it makes for an easy target of objects near it that may strike it. I just drag mine behind my car and hook it up to my AC compressor.

@Skaterrocker842 nitrous is an oxidizer and to use it right u gota add more fuel with it. he didnt add the extra fuel needed so his motor ran hard with too much oxygen and not enough fuel causing way to hot of combustion and it melted down the internals
@SStarwind If your TB is closed it doesn't really matter how lean you are as there isn't much to combust in the engine anyways. What kills a engine is lean under load.
Those engines r not made for performance, get an iron block, with iron heads, then get some good performance pistons, cam, valves, rockers, etc...
Then you can add nitro and it wont break...lol
But really, a civic? Get something less family econo like and more sporty... Unless your making the ultimate sleeper with a dropped in crate V8... even then I'd use the old BMW hippie vans they used to make for a sleeper, rather than that...lol

NOS is like a drug....and when it runs out, people just wanted more by spending LOTs of money... @Chicostreetracing No, but its under pressure and can explode, and you can take a sharp, broken bottle valve through the back of the head. You can also get struck by lightning if you stand under a tree in a lightning storm. Roll the dice and pick one. Me personally, I would have at least used my shoe string to tie the prick down if I'm in a pinch and just HAVE to race or show off.
the trick is to add more fuel with the nitrous, not just add straight nitrous, hahaha o well learn from your mistakes like we all do, i got 1 minute of enjoyment out of it
First thing first.. Build the engine BEFORE you add Nitrous Oxide to avoid things like these. Too many people cheap out and buy a bottle to add the horsepower than spend the extra cash to have that same amount for a life time, instead of a handful of runs.

Nos is friggin retarded. It's not even fun. Y not just make a motor that could produce the same power as with the NOs on the current setup? NOS is like a drug....and when it runs out, people just wanted more by spending LOTs of money... Now with that kinda money, i guaranteed ull produce tremendous power...the only difference is that it's permanent and not just temporary...and its the engine producing the power, not NOS.

@Dbo1235 the bottle rolling around was the only issue. its a NX bottle on a ZEX safe shot kit so it actually wasnt that bad of a setup. i dnt see anything unsafe about it... nitrous isnt flammable so the bottle rolling around doesnt scare anyone. lol

@Chicostreetracing No, but its under pressure and can explode, and you can take a sharp, broken bottle valve through the back of the head. You can also get struck by lightning if you stand under a tree in a lightning storm. Roll the dice and pick one. Me personally, I would have at least used my shoe string to tie the prick down if I'm in a pinch and just HAVE to race or show off.

First thing first.. Build the engine BEFORE you add Nitrous Oxide to avoid things like these. Too many people cheap out and buy a bottle to add the horsepower than spend the extra cash to have that same amount for a life time, instead of a handful of runs.

The 944 was a no-start from craigslist. Under $300.
