  • John Basilone must have been a brave man to re-enlist. He earned his Medal of Honour, but when he died he was being a hero, he should have earned another MOH. What i don't understand is that he clearly told his brother NOT to try and be a hero to prove that he is as good as him, but then he charges into Iwo Jima single handed and dies epically. i have respect for him, he deserves to rest in peace.

  • @KyleBarlow93 It probably happened a little differently than what is portrayed in the series.

  • the battle of Iwo Jima scene was brutal and so realistic, it was awesome!!!

  • @TheStickUpKid187 You mean the way it was portrayed in the series? If you actually think it's awesome that a lot of men died on that island, you're sick.

  • @berserker276 oh no!!! haha you know what? you're right, that came out wrong. lol I was very enthusiastic about the scene, I mean it was very gruesome, but i like battle scenes that look realistic NOT enjoying it because men are being slaughtered. I apologize if I offended you.

  • @TheStickUpKid187 Lol ok

  • Why do wars have to happen? We lose so many brave men, so many wonderful thinkers, for a lost cause essentially. Its such a waste of life... So sad...

  • when ever i hear this u just see the image of John Basilone being killing, it saddens me R.I.P a great soldier and a hero to use all.

  • Letters from Iwo Jima > The Pacific

  • @Choppr777 why do you think so?

  • @Choppr777 I've seen both, loved both, and still believe that the Pacific is better because of its story and how much there is to it. Anyway, Letters from Iwo Jima is from the Japanese side, and The Pacific is the American side, so I don't think you can say one is definitely better than the other, but personal opinion I suppose can say otherwise.

But The Pacific is still better. :D

  • Jon Seda was perfect for the role

  • @ANtr43 for the role yes however i think the guy who played snafu looked more like the actual guy based on the photo just an observation on my part

  • @thefuzzman3 I think Jon Seda looked a lot like the actual Basilone, and the same goes for Joe Mazzello as Eugene Sledge. I don't think James Badge Dale looked anything like the real real Leckie.

  • Epic soundtrack.

  • wha a hell hole!
