  • A very ambitious plan don't you think?

  • i thought it was great. it's been too long since we've had a decent representation of the first world war on screen

  • Finally, at 3.10am precisely on June 7, 1917 Woodward's mine and 18 others were exploded, with a tremendous shock, similar to that of an earthquake. It was felt in London, some say even Dublin. Immediately after the mines were fired the entire artillery force of the Second Army opened a three-pronged, 10km barrage on the German lines and opened a road to Berlin. 10000 Germans died instantly. The German line which had stymied the Allies for two and a half years was taken in six hours.

  • For 7 months the underground system was held by the Capt Woodward and his Tunneling Company.

  • Hill 60 was charged with 53,500 lbs of high explosive. The gallery under 'The Caterpillar' was charged with 70,000 lbs of explosives. Captain Oliver Woodward and the Ist Australian Tunnelling Company were assigned the task of holding this mine until the order was given to go. This entailed endless fighting above and below ground to keep the enemy from discovering the galleries and charges.

  • if its BASED on a true story... does that still mean tiffin dies? someone help me!please- i must know....

  • It is a great success story of the Australian Military. You will have to watch the movie to find out the answer to your question. The movie can be downloaded from most torrent websites for free, not that i advocate that kind of behaviour, but yeah, the movie is available online for viewing if you know where to look and what program to use to download it. (bit comet)

  • @AussieTheOztralian yeh, i saw it on a trip to world war one battle fields- great film ,but the end is just tradgic and i was just asking if there was a 16 sapper called f. tiffin who died of such circumstances

  • I cried when Tiffin died!! :'(

There should be more World War 1 films

  • For reasons I can't really explain, I missed this at the movies.. Would have been good on the BIG SCREEN.. Itching to watch it on DVD now..

  • Too bad we didn't have this movie in America. Looks pretty good. You aussies sure know how to fight.

  • AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE!

  • i soar this movie last year it was brilliant

  • This reminds me of minecraft

  • @Zaharkl Faggot bitch

  • This movie is REALY good, i saw it twice this week!

  • Diggy diggy hole!

  • Loss of human life, victories in major battles, historical percentages say enough about the real heroes of World War I . The real heroes : /watch?v=FziYZ1fpAX4&feature=channel_video_title

  • Don't know if it's the greatest of all time, but it was a fantastic movie. Deserves a wider audience for sure.

  • Omnomnom potatoes

  • I also NEVER claimed that Australia has a better Defence Force than the Americans, I am trying to get the message through that the Americans aren't the only ones fighting. No doubt or question that they are contributing majorly, but they're not alone in wars that they fight. If I did offend any nation or culture, I apologize now, as it was unintentional. I innitially just wanted that guy to see the importamce of ANZAC day and its meaning to Australians. (I can see now I did not word it well. )

  • HONOURGUARD308, I NEVER said a word against Americans. As allies of Australia, and simply as a nation fighting with us, rather than against us, I highly respect American soldiers. I am simplying trying to give BASIC credit (to Aussie troops such as yourself) that have to fight.. America have a very powerful Defence Force, which is continuously put to the test. But Australia has always been fighting by their side, and due to comments posted before me, has been getting little recognition.

  • @valle1491alex Fuck me a spammer with more than one sentence, pity your still a spammer though, now fuck off!!!!!

  • NUUUUU BILLY BACON

  • i just want people to know it wasent just australia who was digging under hill 60 the canadians and the british also were their. just wanted to put that out their and the movie looks great its about time those men got credit

  • @joc69uk no it would just be easier to say that to your mom.... cause after all, i get free oral from her

  • As this movie (and Gallipoli and Kokoda) outlines, Australian troops are very effective at fighting in terrible terrain, with poor equipment and next-to-no training. If that STILL doesn't convince you that Aussie's are one of the most elite forces, then look at the figures of the War on Terror; America; thousand of deaths and have only recently found and killed Bin Laden. Australia; less than 100 deaths and have been saving every other nation while being successful on their own fronts.

  • @NovaBarbi44 shut up you dick, dont start this we are better then them bull shit, and maybe the reason why the US has more deaths then us in the war on terror is cause they are more involved on the ground then us. the yanks are fucking awesome at combat i know this im ADF and i have a mate in the US army and USMC, learn to spell "Australia" and stop insulting our fucking allies and mates. there is fact then there is bull shit and you talk bull shit.

  • Mate, you're an idiot. Sure the Yanks get all the credit in the end, but how many men did it take? And yeah, like this other bloke says; America were getting hammered in the start and Britain weren't exactly doing great. Australai had only been a proper country for 14 years, and the AIF were sent to fight straight away. The MAJORITY of the time the Yanks were only successful due to large numbers and assistance most of the time by either British or Aussie forces!

  • @joc69uk thats what we call it nowadays, retard

  • @joc69uk hahahaha and McDonald's is not in your country as well? yea thats right. go back to the drive thru and get your big mac

  • when the fuck is ANZAC day? and who cares? guess who saved y'all's asses in WW1? 'MERICA! guess who liberated Europe in WW2? 'MERICA! FUCK YEAH!!!

  • @Krywiggles Who the fuck are you? and who cares? guess who is an undereducated little fuck who gets all of their facts out of their well used arsehole? 'YOU! guess who just got owned?'YOU! FUCK YEAH!!!

  • @LukeAJ51 exactly man!!!! YEAH!!!! FUCK ANZAC DAY!!! way to join the movement!!!

  • @Krywiggles you brainless mumpet. america didn't win this war. when they entered combat they got incredibly badly fucked up. They only started to do well when they joined an offensive led by an Australian General and spearheaded by experiencesd and highly skilled Australian troops. grow some braincells you stupid muppet. The germans soldiers used to say that the only soldiers they truely feared were the Australians with thier slouch hats and the wild women from hell in thier kilts!(scots)

  • @OriginalBlace 'MERICA!!!!!!

  • @Krywiggles

American Public Education, ladies and gentlemen.

  • Australian version of "Passchendaele" no offense to the Australian. Just wanted to say that Australians were as brave as the canadians.

  • Australian version of "Passchendaele" no offense to the Australian. Just wanted to say that Australian was as brave as the canadians.

  • There is a unknown fact about this amazing true story and that is that 24 mines where set to go off that morning but 4 did not fire for some reason. On went off after a lightening strike in the 1950's. Three remain under the ground and no one knows where they lay. There is no way i would be building a house anywhere near there.

  • There is an appeal ongoing with the Belgian Gov't. They have approved a zoning change to allow a house to be built in the now open property directly between Hill 60 and the open view of Ypres.

  • @fmtext its WW1 not in the 50's

  • rwt

  • BULL SHIT

  • best movie..worth to watch it in webmovietube

  • nice and cool movie..watched 3 times in webmovietube

  • good movie. bomb crew ftw! ;)

  • This trailer makes this film seem melodramatic and cheesy and with melodramatic and cheesy comes the inevitable and poorly researched Brit-bashing. No doubt the British are represented as effete/stupid/inferior/arrogant weaklings while the brave Australian digger is represented as fearless in the face of adversity and anything that goes wrong is Britain's fault. Faaaak off.

  • @Talbot6832 actually this film doesnt portray british officers as weaklings or arrogant at all. Infact there was only one british officer shown in this film in one scene but he wasn't portrayed as an arrogant one. Furthermore this film doesn't talk about how brave the aussies are, it just explains what were the role of the australian mining engineers. Lastly majority of offensive campaigns (particularly the somme) were planned and commandered by the british of who still were learning on the job.

  • @Talbot6832 Did you even watch the video? England needed Australia's help so we sent 10 people, dug down, planted explosives and blew the germans the fuck up, retard.

  • lol were you heeya to bring your wombats actually to bloww up your red house

  • looks pretty decent.

  • @MrBurkestain i seen that crater too

  • just got the dvd today and watched it tonight...excellent film and camerawork, scene and settings bring the whole gritty stark gloomy atmosphere of the mud and tunnels, a good attempt into what it must've felt like going back 94 years ago in such a high tension unseen place!

  • shove your kookíca up your arse

  • I'm uploading this movie to my Youtube channel. No gimmicks, no links to click on, no sites to register on, just 100% pure movie separated into multiple parts. The only thing is it is going to take me quite a while to upload it all....

It's not a bad movie. A little slow in some places, but nonetheless, worth watching especially if you like History.

  • After seeing this... Im definitely going to be watching it

  • My Great Great Grandfather ( Thomas sinclair keen) was in hill 60 he was the one i think in charge of planting the charges.

  • great movie. the mine that the Aussies set off was at the time the largest explosion in history. it was heard as far away as southern England and Dublin. only the two A bombs dropped on Japan in WW2 exceeded it.

  • Mmm , this film doesn't do justice to the tunnelers , before you begin critisizing , read a book about it , or go check out hill60 yourself . I did

  • Havent seen this movie yet, but am hanging out to watch it. R.I.P our diggers...you will never be forgotten. **In memory of Private Arthur Dalgetta Lewis and Lieutenant Harold Richard Murray**

  • Saw this the day it came out ... there were only 8 people in the cinema ... pathetic! It was a superb film - should be more like it telling the stories of our servicemen.

  • A great movie. Hoping to see Hill 60 when I attend ANZAC Day in April 2011 at Villiers-Brettoneux. Brendan Cowell is also a great actor in this film and sexy.

  • for evryone want to download the film the (movie) tell me the film is in english but the titles are in arabic for any help just comment on my channel just say i want this movie Beneath Hill 60 ok peace

  • Tiffin and Streaky...:(

  • A truly inspirational movie about the enduring triumph of men from Australia. It serves as a constant reminder that no matter what, the diggers will get the job done.

  • looks good.....

  • some say stupidity that they went under, other say greatness that they found a way to conquered their enermies without even being notice.

  • In my opinion, what made Ozzies so great a team of soldiers in the past is how we treat each other at home & all that is being taken from us now as we'r expected to simply be slaves to Multi-Corporate greed by its Puppet Gov

Aussies still wank on about how expensive homes r in Jap,to Aus,but on ABC Business News they said in the developed world,Jap houses r now the most affordable while Aus's r the most expensive

I'm happy for the Japs but wake up b4 all freedom is lost to living only to work ppl

  • @the26thhour - Sorry mate, I've never heard anyone here complain about the cost of housing in Japan. All my mates are more concerened about home loans rates here in Australia. Then there is the definition of a 'house'. Are you talking 1/4 acre block or apartment? Japanese houses could be cheaper because they are more likely to be apartments.

BTW You've got the wrong war. Japan fought in ww2, not ww1.

  • @verticalsmurf

Dude,I'v heard it many times since they had the highest valued Dollar back in the 80's,even heard a guy say it less than a month ago

Perhaps u should ask yourself what type of conversations u engage in with ppl,in ur social life, cause that & ur age r the fundamental reason as to why you've never heard it b4

The overall value of a property market is irrelevant to what u get for ur money. In cities, for many Generations, most build up,due to lack of space

    & lol,its obvious which war

  • @the26thhour - 'lol, its obvious which war' So why did you post this on a clip about an event that occured during ww1?

I've thought about what you said I should ask myself and figured that I've never heard anyone complain about how expensive homes are in Japan is because I don't know anyone who is even remotely considering buying property in Japan. It's like asking me what I think about how expensive housing is in Yugoslavia.

  • @verticalsmurf

I've never heard any Aussie complain about the housing in Japan either,Japanese yes,Aussies no

Ozzies say shit like,"Oh well,at least the property costs here aren't as bad as those in Japan" or "You know they cost a lot more in Japan" etc

My opening statement & point about "what made Ozzies so great a team of soldiers in the past" doesn't just apply to WW1 now does it?

& my point wasn't about Jap life between 1914-18,but about Corpo's greed & Puppet Gov's = entrapment for us - ok?

  • @the26thhour - Like I said, I don't know anyone interested in the housing market in Japan so the subject hasn't come up. Thus, I'm not really interested.

  • @the26thhour - As for what made Aussies great, I could do pages upon pages on that and I would be happy to. To your point about Corpo's greed & Puppet Gov's = entrapment for us - ok? - Give me a book and weeks. I'm not against you on this. Contact me at yahoo of you would like, it wouldn't take a scientist to figure out my address.

  • @verticalsmurf

    cool 8)

    ps - good film

  • looks very good !!

  • Downloading this movie now, it looks great!

  • I bawled my eyes out watching this movie... T.T
