Wonderful song and excellent courting ritual. These cultural rituals take a lot of confusion out of life that we experience in the west, having abandoned many of the truly humanising elements of tradition such as this boy-whipping thing. May your culture thrive for millenia people of the Uigher
And this stuff about diferentiation of Turks by sub-groups, as Oghuzlar, Kypchaklar, etc. is not more than typical indo-european kufr anti-turkic plan, moreover communistic regimes in Mongolia and China was helping to Russia to subdivide our lands. Modern day Khalkha Mongols is absolutely another etnicity, moreover oneday they must to return our Bayan Ulgii Aymaq back to us, the same as Eastern Turkestan will be free from China, Northern and Western Turkestan will be free from Russia etc.
@AntiKyrgyz I think you are quite a rude and fascist person in terms of attitude and i hate to come into contact with people like you. I don't even remember what i wrote here and what your anger for but i think it was about origins of Turkish people. I think you are the one who don't know much about history and stuck with some very limited and known as destructive ideas called "nationalism and racism" Even your name suggest what you are.
@AntiKyrgyz I would hate to think that we have any connection with people like you either historically, genetically or culturally anyway.. Don't dare to disturb me ones more, you irritated me so much..
they are Kazak. I am Uyghur, i realy familiar with thier culture. 100% kazak. mongols are so different from Kazaks. This is pure ancient Turkic life in today.
And I heard that they are also related to the Huns - another Altaic race, that have connections with the Kazaks, they have pretty much the same lifestyle, Nomadic, and herding. The clothes are almost alike.
I believe that my grandparents were born in Xinjiang china. They were running from communist's and they ended up in south tibet and then they walked over the Himalayas then they ended up in Pakistan. They lived in Pakistan for about 15 years then they moved to Turkey.
Then when my parents were born they came to U.S.A and i currently live in NY.
a song sung with passion and strength, beautifully express through its melody... although i do not understand the lyrics :) i first heard this song in a Chinese folk song singing competition, it was sung in
Chinese (mandarin), like it very much. does anyone know where i can get/ download the Chinese version? many many thanks.
i would really like to download some kazak folk music, but i can't find it.....do you know where i can find this song, and some of the other ones you have videos of?
they are Kazakh people. most of them are live in Kazakhstan, small parts are live in Uzbekistan, China, Russia, etc. the Kazakh people shown in this video clip is China part.
No, it is Kazakh people, Kazakh people are Turk people, who was living in Turkestan, that was subdivided in our dark ages by communists (Russia, China and Mongolia). Eastern Turkestan still occupied by China where is still Turk people rest such as Kazakhs and Uyghurs, inspite of substantial henocide, such as nuclear tests, repression and other violent means. Mongolia occupied our Bayan Ulgii Aymaq, where is Turk people living there in very bad conditions.
You are welcome! but i must to tell that Han Chinese people must to not follow this long centuries indo-european kufr anti-turkic plan, cause even we are different nations, still we are the same race, and moreover regional neighbours, it is not good to occupy Eastern Turkestan. I believe that Chinese people are good people and will gave back our Eastern Turkestan.
its a Kazak traditional game called girls' chase.Such game is a way of finding a lover and expressing love.
The young people like to play a "girl-running-after-boy" game. The boys and girls ride their horses to an appointed place;the boys can "flirt with"the girls on the way. However, on the way back, the girls chase the boys and are entitled to whip them if they can as a way of "vengeance." Such merry-making more often than not terminates with love and marriage.
when i was learning our history I was told that they used to put babies, or little kids on the side of the horse in heybe(kilim sack) so that they get used to the movements of horses at a very early age...horseback riding and even traditional archery is slowly gaining popularity again inTurkey though people still need to keep alive traditions

Kazakh people have an optimistic view of events, even their life are not good; they like to sing, dance. They sing naturally.
