The whammy effect... is that equivalent to the Digitech Bass Whammy pedal that they stopped producing? does this pedal cover everything that hte other one did?
@sebzmc Since this is a multieffect, I doubt it is the equivalent of a dedicated whammy pedal. I never had a chance to use one of the DigiTech Bass Whammy pedals to compare. The new DigiTech Whammy with the drop-tuning options seems pretty awesome, though. A friend of mine tried one out and said it sounded a little digital (go figure) but made playing songs in different tunings a snap.
@KrToTmK You can run anything into it that has a 1/4" jack. So if your microphone has XLR jacks, you would need an adapter. Not sure how it would sound, but you could do it.
How do you set the "output" volume on the pedal? I have lots of questions on the pedal. Do you have time for a complete video? I tried to get a "wah pedal" going too. Anyway...good video. Got time for a complete "how to" video? Thanks.
@gar58 hey thanks! A "complete video" might be a little too much since it is a multi-effect and kind of does everything. But I can definitely do one for setting output volume or to address other specific questions...
@bassbottomfeeder I got the whammy. I'm trying to get the Wah to work with the expression pedal now. Also I'd like to get a setting so when I put my toe down on the pedal I get a volume boost...with no effects though. Thanx for your help.
@gar58 Setting up the wah is basically the same as setting up the whammy. To have the expression pedal only effect volume you just set everything else to "off" and set the expression pedal to "OL". What you describe is the way I use mine at the moment: patch 1 is basically a volume pedal (everything off with the expression pedal controlling output level), patch 2 is set up as a wah-wah pedal so I can easily switch back and forth between them.
@bassbottomfeeder I'm doing something wrong with the "wah" settings I guess...that or the wah isn't as extreme as the whammy. Maybe I have the minimum and maximum settings wrong for the pedal.
I'll try it again tonight. Do you know what your settings are for the minimum and max for the "volume boost" and also the "whammy"? Thanx for the help and sorry for all the questions.
@gar58 Yeah the wah-wah has parameters you can set (I believe from 0-99). I forgot about that and It is a little trickier to set up. If you want the full range of effect you want the pedal up set to 0 and the pedal down set to 99. But if you only want a certain portion of the wah-wah's full range, you can adjust the parameters accordingly, say from 33 (pedal up) to 71 (pedal down) or whatever portion of wah effect you think sounds best. Maybe I'll do another video...
Is there anyway to make a single Program Octave Up/Octave Down or 5th Up/6th Down? I mean not just a single choice, like JUST Octave Up or Octave Down but BOTH, depending on the Whammy Position.
@puppetmetal Not really, but you could sort of fake it I suppose. You could select two octaves up (setting Y2), or two octaves down (setting Y4) for your whammy, and then set the pedal in the middle. That would give you an octave in each direction to whammy, but your starting point would be an octave up or down depending on which setting you used. It would require precision on your part to return the pedal to the proper position, because it doesn't have an "at rest" center. Hope that helps.

@bassbottomfeeder - I'll try and write you a comment what happened. Thanks however to what my answer reply

I think I got it. Both the wah and boost seem to be working. Thanks. If you make another video I'll be sure to watch it though.

@gar58 No Problem.

I appreciate you help. I'm going to try the wah a little later today...that and the volume boost.

@gar58 if you haven't checked it already, I did do another video about different ways to set the output volume. Might help.

the pedal itself isnt too bad, but i find the wah/expression pedal way too small.
Im thinking of trying to make it longer .
