hé bien, inattendu, surprise... décidément, je ne savais pas que ces deux mondes pouvaient se croiser, les artistes nous réservent toujours d'heureuses surprises. Wyatt et Tears for Fears.. jjs
What a voice, he'd be in my selection of artists i'd invite to my lottery winning party, i'd give him however much he'd want to come sing for me and my friends.

How can such a lame band do a cover from such an influencial and important artist? He spits words without any sign of emotion, his dictions is terrible, and his "singing" is just an insult. They did once cover Radiohead's Creep, and it was just as atrocious. Please, please tell me they have some cancer.
@eukaryot dude or dudette, you have got to be ignorant. Lame band? TFF were probably the last 'influential' to actually experiment with music and get anywhere with it.
This version of sea song i could even go as far to say is better than robert wyatt.
and i don't even have any sway over these artists.
Please, comparing Robert Wyatt, a master jazz musician, renowned by everyone, an accomplished artist, and those stealers is like comparing a paraplegic and an athlete. Have you even only heard of what wyatt is capable of, and which artists he has worked with? Plus, it's not the first time they put their hands on a song and ruin it. Creep, for instance (as terrible as this song is, their version is lamer, much lamer.)
In times past, prog is now metal, sikth, dream theatre i'm sure if you like king crimson you would know of these newer bands with a better grasp of jazz timings etc, i hate it when people state names and expect you not to know who they are talking about purely because they think there musical knowledge is better.
I'm a producer and have been listening to music since i was 5 without bashing it.
Tff are your studio prog band, in the same sense that the beatles were a studio prog band.
@eukaryot Interesting fact.. ..in an interview in Montreal, Orzabal said that Talk Talk's "Color of Spring" is one of his 5 favorite albums. He also liked Blue Nile and Brian Eno.
Not the best way to represent prog. Spirit of eden is THAT prog. and Early Genesis was the more or less the highlight of prog. Later genesis...not so much.
@MikeAdupont: Spirit of Eden, the balance of Talk Talk's catalogue, Paul Webb, and Mark Hollis' post TT work included is brilliant. Not sure anyone should be concerned with the best way to "present prog."
thank you for uploading this good quality video. The song and pictures are very beautiful.
I heard that when Roland did this cover of R. Wyatt's song, he sent R. Wyatt "I Believe" in return. It wasn't covered by R. Wyatt but Roland's sense to know which one of all his songs best corresponds to Wyatt's "Sea Song" is wonderful.
@joanamalandra It sure is! Did you know that he's British? I heard his accent in the interview segments on Yahoo Music with Curt Smith sitting next to him. Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith from the English band, Tears For Fears are the same age as my uncle Joe.
@demonbox87 Do you know what a cover is? A previously recorded song from another artist that used to sing it in the very beginning before the artist takes over and re sings the song that the original artist sang.
Well, this is actually a cover of Robert Wyatt's song. His version is the original. TFF covered this song and it was not on the main album version though it was made during the time of Songs from the Big Chair. This version later became available on the remastered version of Songs from the Big Chair and is also present on 'Saturnine, Martial and Lunatic' (a collection of TFF B-singles and obscurities).

I liked your video even if it was a little "home-made" and there were a couple of good rare photos of the band in there. Great track.

I don't think that 'progressive' is the only measure of goodness. Sometimes a striking tenor voice and a great song is enough.

@eukaryot Okay so you don't like music and you trawl youtube to abuse it.
Tears for fears were if anything a prog rock band if you looked into anything they did.
Jazz is self indulgent as pretty as it is.
Why bitch the song itself as well.
Your a fucking douche quite obviously. This song stirs my soul.

@PinkneysDefiant
Tears for Fears, prog? King Crimson is prog, Spirit of Eden by Talk Talk is prog. Even Genesis were prog. Tears for Fears? Nah.
BTW, you really should listen to Soft Machine, Matching Mole and all the Canterbury scene.
BTW, I saw your Youtube profile : I laughed so hard at you. You're really priceless, hipsterfag.

No it was a B side in the U.K to "I Believe" which was originally on Songs From The Big Chair...meant to be in the style of the singer Robert Wyatt
