Beautiful! By the way, does any published score of this concerto exist? I can't find it anywhere, I can only find the harpsichord version... maybe every oboist writes his own reconstruction of the bwv 1053? Please help me if anyone knows something! I'd really love to have that score...
@Robibio Did you already find it? I played it already and bought the score in the internet. There are even more versions, one in Eb, and one in f. So there are doubtless ways to get the whole score:)
@simjonowitsch Yes, thanks! my teacher found an old version in F for the oboe, but it was all messed up, with different notes, rhytms... even some odd added measures! so I Adjusted it a little bit and re-wrote the 2nd movement looking at the original harpsichord version! I think it looks good in the end!
By the way, could you tell me where did you buy it?
@Robibio Well I bought it at a german oboe shop, but there was only a version in Eb. I didnt even know that there is a version in E-Major, but it sounds almost like the Eb. My teacher gave me one in F, and I really prefer that version she gave me, there are also different notes and rythms, but I got another recording on my computer, where it is like that one in F, and I like it more.
I'm not really used to youtube, so I don't know if I am allowed to upload it.
Thanks guys for the info. Just listened again today and am still amazed as ever. What a great recording. I'm a trumpet player and about the only recording we have of this concerto is the one done by Maurice Andre on his "Trumpet Voluntary" CD which is incredible as one might expect but I like this oboe version better (I hope none of my trumpet playing friends ever read this :-)
the soloist is Thomas Indermuhle. I, too, am an oboist, who studied with this soloist in Karlsruhe, Germany, where he still holds a teaching post. I'm glad you like it. I now hold the position of Cor Anglais with the BBC SSO in Scotland. I had two fantastic years study in Germany while in his class. In my class at the time were both Stefan Schilli and Diana Doherty, both of whom must rank as some of the finest oboists in the world. Best wishes. James Horan

@simjonowitsch Could your F-version be transcribed and arranged byHermann Tottcher and Gottfried Muller?

I am sure Bach put always a smile in G-D's face. That's so good.

@zipollini Did Bach write any concertos *expressly* for trumpet (other than Brandenberg no. 2)?
