why has tnas matches become so boring.after bound for glory was full of short matches that was all 3 stars in my opinion.wouldnt it be something if shane went to tna lol
no i dont think so tslay nobody really cares about nigel and the other guy coming to wwe your generalizing saying that most of the world agrees with YOUR feelings ask around not a whole lot of people no of ROH and yet your gonna say their more excited about 2 no names coming to wwe more than their top stars and never appeard on tv? get real dude and stop riding ROH's dick the majority will ALWAYS chose main stream over no names
Sometimes you say really dumb shit... Morrison is being pushed and is heading to WWE title. Like they said some people become HBK and others become Jannetty... MORRISON IS BEING PRIMED TO BE THE NEXT HBK! If you dont see that you are a fool. Nigel and Danielson are going to go nowhere in wwe, they will turn into william regal. An amazing wrestler who jobs to Yoshi Tatsu
yea but I think what he's trying to say is that some people wont believe or feel like Morrison should be champ because they have already been shown before that he isn't that amazing, out of this world character that the WWE wants him to become. Its all about people believing what the WWE is telling them.
I think your probly right because we have pretty much seen everything so naturally we are going to want bigger and better. and that is always going to get harder and harder, still though i think Tslay has got it pretty well sussed
i have to agree with you on the idea of the wwe pushing young stars, the only one i will disagree with is morrison, i think morrison is headed in the right direction on smackdown.
"Yes"... hope is running it's course upon TNA,but i refuse to tap out from it,plus i never gave up on any organization such as wrestling, same thing goes for NWA/WCW,or when World Class changed it's name. What most fans fail to understand, if a product is lacking... other die hards may not see it that way, when they are not even apart of this IWC.. nor not educated enough to see into the kayfabe agenda. I take month's off from TNA,but to turn my back on it,thats hard to do.
cool intro now TS and i must say i actually like that HHH shirt which is weird since i generally dont like WWE merch
im actually way more interested in watching BFG then Braggin rights atm the card for BR looks like crap even takeing away cena orton 123454 ch 60 sec 5
ive also gotten WAY more into MMA thanks to getting HD NET an watching DREAM and other promotions
Shane McMahon has more power than people realize. He was the public relations guy and did all of the TV marketing business. Shane is the reason for the PG rating (Which isn't that bad, imo) because it appealed to a larger audience.
Shane is one of the biggest reasons we all get to see WWE as much as we do per week.
aj styles vs kurt angle at next ppv should be an iron man match cause that match on impact was great and it could show wwe what a real wrestling iron man match should be not a borefest with shit wrestler cena and boring promo guy orton.
thats a beautiful intro....all that leads to Truthslayer's talking head....u'd think it'd be a whole interactive set with a desk and pop up pictures and the whole nine....na just truth. lol...na i really like the intro, i'm just jealous
We tried to get Mexican work hands to set up a nice big ESPN type desk at Josh's place, but realized we could only afford the work hands, not the big round desk. It was a disappointing moment of defeat for all of us.
i want aj styles vs kurt angle at next ppv that match on impact was awesome cena vs orton will be a bore fest between guy who cant wrestle cena and boring orton tna should show them how its done bound for glory will be better than wrestlemania25 cause that was shit the show looks great heard rvd mr kennedy be there wwe will die under big nose big ego hhh and his puppet no clue steph. shane was a first of many nails in the coffin.
Um...Truth, I usually agree with your videos, but what the fuck are you smoking with regards to Miz and Morrison specifically? Miz I can agree with because of the whole Cena debacle but I think they're building him back up with the US title. He pinned CLEAN the at the time longest reigning champ in the company.
Morrison had several competitive matches and won clean against Punk when he was the WHC. He has the IC title now, but Mizzorison are working to bring credibility to the mid-card.
Morrison being left off of pay-per-view cards at the height of his popularity is the mistake, and having Miz win the title the night AFTER he gets himself over on the mike is also a mistake. There should be no reason you leave Morrison off a card in favor of stupid segments that don't help anyone out, and there's no reason Miz should not have won the title the night of the Hell in a Cell if he was going to gain the strap the very next night anyway.
I'll grant you the Morrison half, moralvirus, but not the Miz half, and here's' why.
At the HIAC PPV, both world titles changed hands. If Miz had won the title at HIAC, I personally think that the title win's thunder would have been substantially lost thanks to the other two title changes; Miz would've been lost in the shuffle. Miz winning it on RAW was a surprise, and was a big moment in the scope of that RAW, not to mention Miz looked good because Ben threw the gauntlet, Miz delivered.
But Miz got over at the pay-per-view. He garnered heavy heat and that should have been rewarded that night if it was to be rewarded. If not, hold off on the title switch until the next pay-per-view or even further down the road if you want, don't just do it the very next night. That to me says the company saw the kind of reaction he garnered the night before and then decided, "oh, okay, he got over, I guess we can put the title on him after all."
lol yeah. I was pretty sure that wasn't their idea the whole way going. I hope he keeps that title because I've always thought those mid-card titles in their new "incarnations" of being for the good young workers needed a heel to have them at some point to help the title grow.
The FANS still don't buy into it becouse HE has not beaten any of the MAIN stars. That is the problem there are guys that people KNOW if they are in the ring with they are going to look like they don't belong. Look at the match at HITC THE crowd was DEAD most of the match up untill the end that tells you something.
I agree with you truthslayer. Bound for Glory doesn't seem so epic to me but I'll watch it, but not order it of course. Sting in the main event for the 4th year in a row? Why? And Abyss/Foley is going, to me, be a typical Abyss hardcore match. I've never liked how they use constant hardcore matches with the same spots over and over. Hardcore matches should be insane but with TNA its used way too many times and it makes me bored.
Here is my thoughts. If you look back to wCw the cruiserweights cut a new mold into the wrestling world and took it from the days of Hogan/Flair etc to a new impact of sorts. It took a few years for it to take hold but if you look at any wrestling now you see the influence of the CW style of wrestling and how the old Hoganesque type of wrestling is dead. I think ROH has cut that new mold, and Danielson and McGuinness coming in is the beginning of this new era in wrestling finally mainstreaming.
I think the reason why I don't care that much about Shane resigning is because I had already lost hope in WWE
I must agree with what TruthSlayer said about people watching TNA, I watch it because I have hope in it and I want iy to get better and compete with WWE
I agree. I had hope for TNA finally turning around was built up when AJ won the championship, but it took a major nosedive on the "Super" Impact show when they decided to end the Styles/Angle match by a time limit draw when AJ was at his absolute most vulnerable.
Am I supposed to believe now that they're actually going to give AJ a credible win on their PPV? TNA has proven time and time again that when they have something that could be great, they will fuck it up and lose the fans' interest.
When i was watching this video i was reminded of a video that PSpower did where he talked about the progression of stars. He talked about how when Brett Hart was getting built up he held Tag team - Intercontinental - then WWE Championship, so it made sence when he won the BIG ONE. These days guys like John Morison is a tag champ, then ECW champ, Tag champ again, now he is intercontinental champion, so it doesn't make sence when they bounce around,
I agree with all of those except getting rid of the 6 sided ring. It makes them even more different than anyother wrestling company. But it'll take a lil longer than a year to be the top let alone even compete with WWE. It'll take at least another 3 years.
The six sided ring isn't necessary. If they truly focused on the X-div. then I could see it's usefullness, but they don't. I'm suggesting they get rid of it because it doesn't attract fans. Most of my casual wrestling friends dismiss TNA because of the 'goofy' looking ring alone. If TNA really wants to distinguish themselves from WWE, they would put on more shows like last week's Impact.
I dont see any of the MEM guys winning which makes it seem like the MEM will die after BFG All the matches except a few have a year of build up I think the problem with the IWC and TNA is the IWC never watch the impacts that are good so the rating suffer so TNA thinks that it doesnt work If you notice the shows with alot of wrestling get lower rating Its one thing to say you support TNA when they put on a good show but is another to actually do it Im not sayin your one of the people TSlay
The early part of 2009 had some horrible Impacts in my opinion. However, since about Hard Justice, Impacts have improved a hell of a lot, but the ratings aren't even hitting 1.0 here and there (at least two ratings that i've seen since HJ). While a lot of people skip Impacts, I've heard and known that there are people on TNA TV that people like to watch, and they should be watched, which needs to happen more for TNA and the Impact program
Wow I'm doing a lot of defense for the die hards today - but we're the minority. We don't make up a big bulk of the ratings because of this. We're the outnumbered class in a world filled with casuals and media fans. If the ratings are suffering it's not because TNA has failed to grasp at the die hards interest but rather because they're failing to grasp at the casuals interest.
I'm not a TNA die hard fan. Sure I prefer them over WWE but I watch TNA when they have a good show. Because I like to support a company when they do something right and I don't watch them when they have a bad show. The way I see it people that complain bout very few matches still don't watch them when they have good matches. So why should they cater to you if you won't watch either way.
Many of the die hards watched when TNA was doing some good, producing the types of matches we wanted to see. If we didn't watch them then we most certainly supported the company at that point by buying up the DVD's of those shows (i.e. the sell out of the 2005 PPV DVD set).
We'll all follow the company if they do things that draw our interest and don't insult us intellectually. Right now, I don't feel they're doing that so I don't see why I should care to watch them.
I used to watch back on the weekly wednday PPVs back in early 04'. I know they aren't that good anymore even though they can be. But still they aren't as bad as they were in late 07-early 08 and early this year. They still put on stellar matches on impact like AJ/Sabin, Daniels/Pope, Pope/Suicide, AJ/Daniels, Eric/Jarrett, Angle/Morgan, Angle/AJ, AJ/Williams. All those were from this year. Also any BMI/Brits match from this year have been great matches.
well svr 2010 is really going to be the closing point of the WWE when you can create your own story and all those features on it and with that who would watch another boring ass rivalry on tv while you can create your own ..... well it might not happen but im just puting that out there
Wow the intro is awesome, Jarrod did an amazing job. I think BFG would be good but to be honest, the card looks the weakest it has been in years. It does not mean that it will be the worst BFG, but i'm saying that the build-up to most of these matches has been pretty bad, and the ones that were built properly either won't be a good match, or no on cares about it.
hope certainly is running thin. but i may actually give bound for glory a go based on the fact that everyone one of those events ive watched has mostly delivered and for the curiousity of abyss/foley.
Thank you. Plus look @ CM Punk. He's bigger than he's ever been before! And Rey Mysterio is great as an upper mid-carder and Christian is carrying ECW. Which isn't a bad thing.
i know i'm stating the obvious but Christian is the only reason to watch ECW. by the way is there nay truth to the rumors that Christian may be heading to raw or smackdown?
the build to BFG has been mind boggling to how anyone thinks it can draw money. I don't understand how someone who has been in the business going on around 18 years can book it and think it will make the promotion money, especially when the same booking approach has made the companies ppv buys actualy go down along with ratings.
Hope is not running thin for pro wrestling, Josh. You're just focussed too much on the wrong continent! ;) Ark Road is coming and if you're not hopeful for that, I think there's something wrong with you! How can you not have hope in pro wrestling when KENTA is performing to such an amazingly, unprecedented level of awesome every week? =)
that was my thought when i read he was leaving. i wouldn't be surprised if it comes out soon that Shane is gonna either start up his own MMA promotion or buy one.
Shane knows what the fans want, people who used to buy WWE ppv's when it wasn't made for kids are now paying to watch the UFC because it's what the fans want, & now WWE is almost unwatchable at times & WWE is losing numbers buying the PPV's i mean i never looked at UFC a year ago but now i'd say i would rather pay for a UFC ppv & the WWE is stupid marketing to kids because parents don't want their kids watching wrestling because of all the stuff in the media, i mean fuck sake wake up Vince.
TNA's BFG is going to be a great ppv. If you've been following the product for about 6 months or so every match on here makes sense. Everything they've hyped up is leading to something bigger. This is going to be a make or break ppv for TNA heading into 2010 where they should be at a greater pace. TNA for the most part has been great since Double J has been taken off. Also, I don't think the WWE has missed the boat on Morrison. The WWE fans love this guy, am I wrong?
First point I want to touch on, Morrison: they still kind of drop the ball on booking this guy for their PPV's. Leaving him off of one at the height of his popularity is a mistake.
Secondly, I don't buy that the product has gotten better in Jarrett's departure because the feud he had with Angle made sense, and some of the other matches around the company, at that time, seemed to hold more reasoning behind them happening than most of the matches going into tonight's PPV.
I don't really think WWE is "dropping the ball on Morrison. I just think that they see alot of mega star on this guy but they don't want to oversaturate him. When you watch him in a match the crowd gets hyped up but after that the WWE is smart not to focus the entire show on him. Giving him the Intercontinental Championship is good, let him lead that division for awhile and see if he can get peole interested again in that division. Also with TNA not much to explain really, it's all about opinion
No one's asking to center the show around him, but exposing him on pay-per-view, seeing if fans are willing to pay money to see him on the card, that's something they shouldn't shy away from. Get fans used to seeing him on the pay-per-view card as the face IC champion that he has become. Just put them out there, that's all you really need to do.
why would anyone care about 'die hard' 'internet' 'wrestling marks' if u guys moan on every silly thing and dont buy , support , order the product all u do is watch stream thats include spin whatever his name is ur hopes wont make them money
I'm sorry, but some of us do put our money down for the product we want to buy. The die hards are keeping what little indy scene is out there alive by putting our money down into the company's pockets, and we're supporting the big companies (namely WWE) by buying whatever merchandise and products we feel are worth buying.
A lot of money comes out of the die hards pockets, and to say it isn't is a bit unfair if not naive.
Maybe you're right, Josh. Hope is probably starting to run thin. Currently, I'm happy with the WWE product. There mid-carders is A LOT better than it was from 2006-2007. Maybe even 2005. Guys like Randy Orton and Matt Hardy are starting to look more credible. @ least IMO. They pushed Jeff Hardy to the main-event which is a plus even though he's gone now. Now looks like there going to push Ted DiBiase. Yes WWE still has flaws but right now I feel they have improved from the last couple of years.
As a long time fan i tottally give up on WWE about 1 & a half years ago. WWE lost a loyal long time fan because of the bullshit they produced. Looks like Steph & HHH willl run the company 100% in the future. TNA is where i get my wrestling enjoyment. Like it or not the more people that support TNA then prehaps the WWE will take notice & do something about their shitty product.
Attitude Era in the late '90's? The peak of the largest American economic boom ever. All of wrestling is struggling right now. WWE is having some buyrates this year really big (No Way Out, WrestleMania, NOC) and some do poorly. Immeasurable. TNA's have absolutely tanked. ROH has ceased them all together. Wrestling, throughout history, has responded to the wealth and prosperity of a society, and right now, our society is pretty down in the dumps.
I post on forums, I'm a member of Wrestlefuse (cheap plug), but I really don't like the IWC (even though I'm a member by default). They are so reactionary it's pitiful; many of them are unoriginal as well, simply getting ideas from others putting it in their heads. I remember when, I think back in '07, Raw got a 2.9 rating. The IWC LOST IT. They went berserk. And for no reason. Success of wrestling depends on the success of society. Wrestling boom in the '80's? The "Morning Again" Era.
This would be true except that that the 70's where actualy a good time for wrestling as was the great depresion. There is no doubt thatlike EVERYTHING society matters but during bad times they also want an escape.
Contrary to popular belief, Vince McMahon is not an idiot. If something catches on, he will go to it. But quite frankly, society and mainstream media sucks at this point in time. Music is no longer original. Movies are nothing but remakes. And the wrestling business isn't out of hope. They said this when nWo-led WCW was destroying WWE, they said this when WWE got the monopoly.
3. WWE stopped going for the diehards because they are impossible to please, and the faster TNA and ROH learn that, the faster they will grow. TNA is passed the stage where they need the diehard fan, they need casual fans. Granted, their booking has been, on average, below-par the past few years, so they aren't exactly getting anyone. Diehard wrestling fans are a fickle bunch; they claim a promotion is the second coming of Jesus until they go in a different direction.
Not really, the diehards were the ones that ended up turning Rocky Maivia into The People's Champion thanks to their constant shitting of him at the shows, they were the ones backing ECW that ended up changing the way the wrestling industry in America works, and were the fans that ultimately allowed for Cena to become a main event staple.
Are there fickle fans amongst this group? Of course, but they're not all fickle.
2. Shane is in his upper 30's, 36 or 37 if i remember correctly. His window of opportunity is thin. He probably just wants to see what he can do. And he will ALWAYS be accepted back into WWE. He's paid his dues, outside of the ring AND in, and he's family. If things don't work out, or if he finally gets that itch scratched and decides to come back, he'll be welcomed back. He's a young guy, after all. We haven't seen the last of Shane in the WWE.
1. As far as WWE goes, I was originally a WCW fan, '98-'01 (I couldn't watch WWE, parent wouldn't let me). I got into WWE with the Invasion (great start), started following adamently in 2002 and 2003 (and weren't those great years...). WWE has survived that, and honestly, creatively, it can survive anything. If WWE can survive Katie fucking Vick and a Redneck contest, it can survive anything.
Raw sucks. I can't even watch it and quite frankly with Big Bang Theory, 2 & a Half Men, & a little thing called Monday Night Football, I don't really want to watch it.
ECW...there are alot of problems with how its presented. Roster isn't big enough. WWE doesn't promote it enough. And of course its nothing like the old ECW. In of itself the show is ok, but I take the attitude of if WWE doesn't even care about it, why should I?
I was loving Smackdown quite a bit. It was just awesome up until Punk lost the title to Ol' Gimpy. Now I am really fearful of the direction of that brand with Cena possibly going over & DX possibly winning the tag titles. Raw has been destroyed, and if those guys move over to SD on a show where Taker, not Punk, is on top, then things could go right down the shitter.
TNA??? Well Bound for Glory, which I am ordering, will be a big indicator of where their direction is. Its a chance for TNA to really put over the new stars and bring them up, or its a chance to really fuck things up.
AJ/Sting could be an emotional match & a special moment, or it could be another Taker/Punk debacle.
Morgan/Angle could be Morgan's big break out moment, or it could be another show of faith in Kurt "Im a Benoit Waiting to Happen" Angle
Foley/Abyss could be something special with TNA crowning their own guy as the King of Hardcore, or it could be yet another pointless win for Foley that serves no purpose.
Team 3D can win the IWGP Belts back. I don't really care, but if they or The Mafia wins the Tag Titles, that would be a huge mistake. I dont need to see a fucking "24X" or whatever number they're up to when they could put the titles on Beer Money or the breakout team of the year in The Brits.
I feel The Brits should win both titles Sunday while Young wins the Legends. Have Homicide win the X Title back (just to help his seeming crazy ass push which I am loving). Would put the final nail in the coffin for MEM. The World Elite said they won the war. If members of the World Elite take the titles the Mafia have left (Legends and TNA Tag) then that means they officially won. I see that happening anyway. Would be great, glad TNA is using The Brits well.
TNA can't be as big as the WWE any time in the near future. WWE has been around for decades & was the established brand of professional wrestling. Even when WCW was beating them in the ratings, I would still have people look at my nWo shirt and say "Aw, your a WWF fan are ya?" Vince's company has a built in audience & fanbase that goes back decades & its impossible for TNA to match that in only 7 years especially without big money like Turner backing it, which is what WCW had....
They are expecting TNA to be able to compete with Vince straight out of the gate, but they only want the newer, younger talent to be the ones to do it, and they do not want the veterans to be the ones on top of the mountain, so to speak.
It has always been my belief that you cannot build a wrestling company with wrestlers that people on a national/international scale do not know, thats where the use of the veterans comes into play.
Yeah, except most of the fans who wanted TNA to compete with WWE head on were the crazy TNA fanatics who just couldn't handle the curve of WWE going back to the formula they felt comfortable working with.
TNA, however, should be focusing more on their young stars, but that doesn't mean they should be holding the big titles or taking up all of the screen time, just that they're a pivotal focus to the overall direction of the company for the long haul.
I wouldn't necessarily say that those that want TNA to go head on with WWE are TNA fanatics, I would rather say that they're fans that would like to see WWE have the competition that WCW was able to provide (albeit too late) back 10+ years ago.
And again, I do think that TNA should concentrate on the younger talent, but you can't expect them to do so in television markets where that younger talent may not be recognised as well as the more established stars of WWE or their own company.
That's why you work the young talent with the established talent and allow that young talent to look like he belongs in the same frame of mind as the established star: i.e. that they belong in the ring with them. Do that enough times and you don't need to heavily rely upon the established talent as the fans are already buying your young as being established.
They've had four years of national broadcast on Spike, that time could have been devoted to building up such characters as Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, Monty Brown and whoever else they felt was gaining them a fanbase. Instead, more of that time was devoted to Jarrett, Sting, Angle, Nash, Foley, Booker, Christian, Steiner and Karen. The time wasn't exceptionally well utilized to establish an alternate product.
True, but when you go from a regional to national/international product, you need to have the established stars to help the product grow.
Having AJ and Joe try and carry the company to a larger audience when they are not know is not the best way to go from a business standpoint, because that audience will not know who they are and will not want to stick around for people they do not know.
As I like to say, in TNA, come for the veterans, stay for the younger talent.
WWE is starting to make me embarrassed to be a wrestling fan..and that says alot cause the WWE has done alot of embarrassing things but like WWE Bragging Rights. Does anybody want to see this? I mean seriously only match I care about is Morrison vs Miz but they probably won't even give that match any time to be good.
Great vid... I haven't watched TNA for over a month and if this PPV gets a bad review, I will be out of hope for them and never watch again. I think all of American Wrestling has to do something for the hardcore fans to restore some hope.
I respect the hell out of Sting, and him beating Joe was necessary last year to launch the MME angle, but if Sting takes away AJ's gold after one month, I'm giving up on TNA.
After a year of looking like fools the young guns need to shine on Sunday, and that means Sting needs to count the lights for the good of the company.
Ideas for TNA: Maybe tape Impact on the road, leave Orlando, Try to position themselves as a harder, edgy alternate to the WWE; worry more about wrestling than using stunts and gimmicks to garner short term mainstream appeal(Pac-Man Jones anyone??), create your own stars. Please ,,,,less WWE rejects, and no more over the hill workers, You can scout fresh (relatively) younger talent.....very lazy. Finding new talent isn't easy, but at least make a decent effort. ,FIRE RUSSO."Attitude" era is over.
1. They "barely" have enough money to have PPVs outside Orlando; times are tough. Plus, the location of iMPACT! won't make a difference.
2. Harder, Edgier WWE? That's what TNA currently is, except it comes off as being real cheap.
3. Yes, I agree w/ you on TNA becoming "themselves". IDK why it's hard for a company to NOT directly copy another company. I mean, it looks like they're not controlling their future.
4. Finally, creating stars... TNA is better than WWE when it comes to that...
... okay, no lie, some ex-WCW/WWE talent (I dislike using the term, WWE Reject.) were key in the development of TNA: Angle, Sting, Cage
However, the way they were booked, such as making Angle an unstoppable force for 2+ years, has really blocked TNA from going forward. Having big names is NOT a problem, it's just that developing your own names helps in a very big way... that's IF it was done right AT the right time.
Abyss is more a copy of Cactus Jack if anything. Abyss never has used superpowers like Taker I believe. APA were a protection agency. Beer Money is a merge of Storm's Drunk Cowboy and Roode's millionaire gimmicks. Joe is somewhat like Taz, but he has Taz as his manager these days. As long as the fans like someone, doesn't matter who they seem like. A star is a star.
Well you saying JBL stole Flair's gimmick, or Rude's gimmick. Keep going down the list. How about Ted Dibaise? They were millionaires before JBL were.
You are trying to argue that BM are a ripoff of the APA which is completely retarded. So because JBL had two gimmicks that are similar to ones that Roode and Storm use that means BM are a ripoff, You never trying to show a simularity with Simmons. Now look, Roode is trying to be like Rick Rude. Storm is being himself. Storm is actually a drunk cowboy in real life. Characters are recycled. BM have gotten over with the guys being themselves mostly. Joe is a strong style type wrestler. No ripoff.
On to Joe. Joe is a stiff type wrestler. He started that gimmick in the indy circuit. He was a beast. A gimmick commonly used by many. Guys before Taz used it. Joe doesn't even rely on suplexes like Taz does. Joe was about winning, and used technical based wrestling to do as such. Joe is a technical type wrestler, just like Angle, Taz, etc are. You are going to have to learn what a ripoff is. Having similarities is not exactly a ripoff.
Alright, 5b: Styles, no doubt, is a star TNA developed. However, unlike how WWE has built stars recently, there was progression in AJ's push; he had ME matches against Sting & Angle, plus, his title win wasn't a fluke (AKA: Roll-up).
Now, who else has TNA made a star? Well, one, is World Elite. Okay, w/ the amount of character changes that Young has had, I couldn't take him seriously, but, now, his stable is "up there" in TNA.
Plus, there's Joe & BMI; IMO, in TNA, everyone has a "chance".
However, in WWE, the only "new" stars, since 2007, have been Punk & Jeff; BUT, even them 2 haven't been treated as "true" MEers (Lengthy title reigns, looking "strong" against the current MEers, etc.).
Other than them, WWE "holds back" big pushes from happening; okay, DiBiase and Morrison MAY have gotten victories against current MEers, but WWE didn't go anywhere with those victories. Instead, WWE just left them where they were. It "seems" like WWE lacks direction w/ character development.
Jeff's major problem was always what was going on outside the ring as many people questioned him winning the title to begin with due to his tendency to screw up.
But what they did to Punk was inexcusable. They basically had their villain, their Darth Vader if you will, get beat by Obi-Wan Kenobi. It made absolutely no sense.
How was it a swerve win? How he won made sense. The only thing that didn't make sense was Morgan should've been pissed off about Sting not trying to break the pin.
How does it make sense when he wasn't in the title hunt picture with Morgan or Hernandez? The guy you would have thought would be going into tonight's show hunting for the title is now in a match that doesn't even feature the title, instead it's tangled up in a feud that didn't and had no reason to be caught up with the strap.
So yes, it is a Russo swerve. It's the very definition of a Russo swerve.
Hernandez and Morgan were already in a feud that was obviously gonna be continued throughout BFG so they obviously weren't going to win the title And the champion Angle at the time was feuding with Morgan so if Angle retained AJ wouldn't be in a title match at BFG So it was between AJ or Sting and people like you would complain about Sting getting the title over AJ And the way they had Sting let AJ get the pin made sense So TNA did something smart so give em credit
why has tnas matches become so boring.after bound for glory was full of short matches that was all 3 stars in my opinion.wouldnt it be something if shane went to tna lol

I legitimately laughed at the thought of TNA trying to win over the diehards/IWC.
I also laughed at you implying that the WWE should or does care about the diehards/IWC.

no i dont think so tslay nobody really cares about nigel and the other guy coming to wwe your generalizing saying that most of the world agrees with YOUR feelings ask around not a whole lot of people no of ROH and yet your gonna say their more excited about 2 no names coming to wwe more than their top stars and never appeard on tv? get real dude and stop riding ROH's dick the majority will ALWAYS chose main stream over no names

PallKariToni 2 years ago
yea but I think what he's trying to say is that some people wont believe or feel like Morrison should be champ because they have already been shown before that he isn't that amazing, out of this world character that the WWE wants him to become. Its all about people believing what the WWE is telling them.

What most fans fail to understand, if a product is lacking... other die hards may not see it that way, when they are not even apart of this IWC.. nor not educated enough to see into the kayfabe agenda. I take month's off from TNA,but to turn my back on it,thats hard to do.

Dig the new intro, and...
Mizfit51 2 years ago
Yes. But Shane's job could be done just as well by someone without intimate knowledge of the wrestling industry, as opposed to Steph's, which can't.
Paisnaiter 2 years ago
And Shane had been touted to have a better direction for the company.. Yet, Stephanie and Mr. Levesque are going to be the ones running the company.
How is inept management better than someone who wants what's best for the company?
Mizfit51 2 years ago
You are correct... but I am talking about Shane's official job-title, which requires very little wrestling background.
If Shane had wanted the job that Steph now has, he could have probably had it.
Because he didn't want that job, I think it indicates that he doesn't have the passion for the buisness that is required for the job.

clownhe01 2 years ago
Um...Truth, I usually agree with your videos, but what the fuck are you smoking with regards to Miz and Morrison specifically? Miz I can agree with because of the whole Cena debacle but I think they're building him back up with the US title. He pinned CLEAN the at the time longest reigning champ in the company.
Morrison had several competitive matches and won clean against Punk when he was the WHC. He has the IC title now, but Mizzorison are working to bring credibility to the mid-card.
SamuraiFoochs 2 years ago
Morrison being left off of pay-per-view cards at the height of his popularity is the mistake, and having Miz win the title the night AFTER he gets himself over on the mike is also a mistake. There should be no reason you leave Morrison off a card in favor of stupid segments that don't help anyone out, and there's no reason Miz should not have won the title the night of the Hell in a Cell if he was going to gain the strap the very next night anyway.
moralvirus 2 years ago
I'll grant you the Morrison half, moralvirus, but not the Miz half, and here's' why.
At the HIAC PPV, both world titles changed hands. If Miz had won the title at HIAC, I personally think that the title win's thunder would have been substantially lost thanks to the other two title changes; Miz would've been lost in the shuffle. Miz winning it on RAW was a surprise, and was a big moment in the scope of that RAW, not to mention Miz looked good because Ben threw the gauntlet, Miz delivered.
SamuraiFoochs 2 years ago
But Miz got over at the pay-per-view. He garnered heavy heat and that should have been rewarded that night if it was to be rewarded. If not, hold off on the title switch until the next pay-per-view or even further down the road if you want, don't just do it the very next night. That to me says the company saw the kind of reaction he garnered the night before and then decided, "oh, okay, he got over, I guess we can put the title on him after all."
moralvirus 2 years ago
lol yeah. I was pretty sure that wasn't their idea the whole way going. I hope he keeps that title because I've always thought those mid-card titles in their new "incarnations" of being for the good young workers needed a heel to have them at some point to help the title grow.
themiz2003k 2 years ago
The FANS still don't buy into it becouse HE has not beaten any of the MAIN stars.
AmericanNohbuddy 2 years ago
Here is my thoughts. If you look back to wCw the cruiserweights cut a new mold into the wrestling world and took it from the days of Hogan/Flair etc to a new impact of sorts. It took a few years for it to take hold but if you look at any wrestling now you see the influence of the CW style of wrestling and how the old Hoganesque type of wrestling is dead. I think ROH has cut that new mold, and Danielson and McGuinness coming in is the beginning of this new era in wrestling finally mainstreaming.
hamburgeler84 2 years ago
I think the reason why I don't care that much about Shane resigning is because I had already lost hope in WWE

These days guys like John Morison is a tag champ, then ECW champ, Tag champ again, now he is intercontinental champion, so it doesn't make sence when they bounce around,

TNA needs to do the following:
1. Get rid of 6 sided ring
2. Get a makeover. New logo + New Ring appearance(mat, apron, ropes) = New Look.
3. Impact should be 50% ring action, 25% promos/interviews/vignettes, 25% commercial time
4. Build stronger relationship with NJPW and truly become a Global brand.
If they make these changes, they'll be #1 within a year.

Have you seen the line-up for this Thursday? At least on paper it looks pretty sweet.
babyface76 2 years ago
I agree with all of those except getting rid of the 6 sided ring. It makes them even more different than anyother wrestling company. But it'll take a lil longer than a year to be the top let alone even compete with WWE. It'll take at least another 3 years.
Kuratras 2 years ago

Kuratras 2 years ago
I agree quite a bit.
DoubleCrossKing 2 years ago
Wow I'm doing a lot of defense for the die hards today - but we're the minority. We don't make up a big bulk of the ratings because of this. We're the outnumbered class in a world filled with casuals and media fans. If the ratings are suffering it's not because TNA has failed to grasp at the die hards interest but rather because they're failing to grasp at the casuals interest.
moralvirus 2 years ago
I'm not a TNA die hard fan. Sure I prefer them over WWE but I watch TNA when they have a good show. Because I like to support a company when they do something right and I don't watch them when they have a bad show. The way I see it people that complain bout very few matches still don't watch them when they have good matches. So why should they cater to you if you won't watch either way.
Kuratras 2 years ago
Many of the die hards watched when TNA was doing some good, producing the types of matches we wanted to see. If we didn't watch them then we most certainly supported the company at that point by buying up the DVD's of those shows (i.e. the sell out of the 2005 PPV DVD set).
We'll all follow the company if they do things that draw our interest and don't insult us intellectually. Right now, I don't feel they're doing that so I don't see why I should care to watch them.
moralvirus 2 years ago
I used to watch back on the weekly wednday PPVs back in early 04'. I know they aren't that good anymore even though they can be. But still they aren't as bad as they were in late 07-early 08 and early this year. They still put on stellar matches on impact like AJ/Sabin, Daniels/Pope, Pope/Suicide, AJ/Daniels, Eric/Jarrett, Angle/Morgan, Angle/AJ, AJ/Williams. All those were from this year. Also any BMI/Brits match from this year have been great matches.

Wow the intro is awesome, Jarrod did an amazing job. I think BFG would be good but to be honest, the card looks the weakest it has been in years. wrestlesite 2 years ago
UltimateVictory88 2 years ago
First point I want to touch on, Morrison: they still kind of drop the ball on booking this guy for their PPV's. Leaving him off of one at the height of his popularity is a mistake.
Secondly, I don't buy that the product has gotten better in Jarrett's departure because the feud he had with Angle made sense, and some of the other matches around the company, at that time, seemed to hold more reasoning behind them happening than most of the matches going into tonight's PPV.
moralvirus 2 years ago
I don't really think WWE is "dropping the ball on Morrison. I just think that they see alot of mega star on this guy but they don't want to oversaturate him. When you watch him in a match the crowd gets hyped up but after that the WWE is smart not to focus the entire show on him. Giving him the Intercontinental Championship is good, let him lead that division for awhile and see if he can get peole interested again in that division. Also with TNA not much to explain really, it's all about opinion
UltimateVictory88 2 years ago
No one's asking to center the show around him, but exposing him on pay-per-view, seeing if fans are willing to pay money to see him on the card, that's something they shouldn't shy away from. Get fans used to seeing him on the pay-per-view card as the face IC champion that he has become. Just put them out there, that's all you really need to do.

Demat89 2 years ago
As long as you give WWE tv ratings and buy their merchandise they won't change the product. Stop giving them money and they will be forced to change.
JPThunder01 2 years ago
I'm sorry, but some of us do put our money down for the product we want to buy. The die hards are keeping what little indy scene is out there alive by putting our money down into the company's pockets, and we're supporting the big companies (namely WWE) by buying whatever merchandise and products we feel are worth buying.
A lot of money comes out of the die hards pockets, and to say it isn't is a bit unfair if not naive.
moralvirus 2 years ago
Maybe you're right, Josh. Hope is probably starting to run thin. Currently, I'm happy with the WWE product. There mid-carders is A LOT better than it was from 2006-2007. Maybe even 2005. Guys like Randy Orton and Matt Hardy are starting to look more credible. @ least IMO. They pushed Jeff Hardy to the main-event which is a plus even though he's gone now. Now looks like there going to push Ted DiBiase. Yes WWE still has flaws but right now I feel they have improved from the last couple of years.

TheKSE1 2 years ago
I post on forums, I'm a member of Wrestlefuse (cheap plug), but I really don't like the IWC (even though I'm a member by default). They are so reactionary it's pitiful; many of them are unoriginal as well, simply getting ideas from others putting it in their heads. I remember when, I think back in '07, Raw got a 2.9 rating. The IWC LOST IT. They went berserk. And for no reason. Success of wrestling depends on the success of society. Wrestling boom in the '80's? The "Morning Again" Era.
TheKSE1 2 years ago
This would be true except that that the 70's where actualy a good time for wrestling as was the great depresion. There is no doubt thatlike EVERYTHING society matters but during bad times they also want an escape.
TSlay1974 2 years ago
Contrary to popular belief, Vince McMahon is not an idiot. If something catches on, he will go to it. But quite frankly, society and mainstream media sucks at this point in time. Music is no longer original. Movies are nothing but remakes. And the wrestling business isn't out of hope. They said this when nWo-led WCW was destroying WWE, they said this when WWE got the monopoly.
TheKSE1 2 years ago
TheKSE1 2 years ago
Not really, the diehards were the ones that ended up turning Rocky Maivia into The People's Champion thanks to their constant shitting of him at the shows, they were the ones backing ECW that ended up changing the way the wrestling industry in America works, and were the fans that ultimately allowed for Cena to become a main event staple.
Are there fickle fans amongst this group? Of course, but they're not all fickle.
moralvirus 2 years ago
TheKSE1 2 years ago
Many posts may be required for my response.

Where am I at with wrestling right now?
NYG4LIFE123 2 years ago
I was loving Smackdown quite a bit. It was just awesome up until Punk lost the title to Ol' Gimpy. Now I am really fearful of the direction of that brand with Cena possibly going over & DX possibly winning the tag titles. Raw has been destroyed, and if those guys move over to SD on a show where Taker, not Punk, is on top, then things could go right down the shitter.
NYG4LIFE123 2 years ago
NYG4LIFE123 2 years ago
Foley/Abyss could be something special with TNA crowning their own guy as the King of Hardcore, or it could be yet another pointless win for Foley that serves no purpose.
Team 3D can win the IWGP Belts back. I don't really care, but if they or The Mafia wins the Tag Titles, that would be a huge mistake. I dont need to see a fucking "24X" or whatever number they're up to when they could put the titles on Beer Money or the breakout team of the year in The Brits.
NYG4LIFE123 2 years ago
mafia wont win booker t and steiner are suppose to leave the company in fact i think this is booker t's last match in tna if i heard correctly
i guess booker t and steiner really dont like whats going on and they really didnt like them firing cornett

NYG4LIFE123 2 years ago 2
in addition to an already established audience left over from the NWA.
NYG4LIFE123 2 years ago 2
The big problem lies in the fans expectations.
GarethGazzGravey1 2 years ago
Hell yes, I agree totally.
Tucanforpres001 2 years ago
Yeah, except most of the fans who wanted TNA to compete with WWE head on were the crazy TNA fanatics who just couldn't handle the curve of WWE going back to the formula they felt comfortable working with.
TNA, however, should be focusing more on their young stars, but that doesn't mean they should be holding the big titles or taking up all of the screen time, just that they're a pivotal focus to the overall direction of the company for the long haul.
moralvirus 2 years ago
I wouldn't necessarily say that those that want TNA to go head on with WWE are TNA fanatics, I would rather say that they're fans that would like to see WWE have the competition that WCW was able to provide (albeit too late) back 10+ years ago.
And again, I do think that TNA should concentrate on the younger talent, but you can't expect them to do so in television markets where that younger talent may not be recognised as well as the more established stars of WWE or their own company.
GarethGazzGravey1 2 years ago
That's why you work the young talent with the established talent and allow that young talent to look like he belongs in the same frame of mind as the established star: i.e. that they belong in the ring with them. Do that enough times and you don't need to heavily rely upon the established talent as the fans are already buying your young as being established.
moralvirus 2 years ago
But it can't be done overnight and/or as quickly as fans would like it to be.
GarethGazzGravey1 2 years ago
They've had four years of national broadcast on Spike, that time could have been devoted to building up such characters as Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, Monty Brown and whoever else they felt was gaining them a fanbase. Instead, more of that time was devoted to Jarrett, Sting, Angle, Nash, Foley, Booker, Christian, Steiner and Karen. The time wasn't exceptionally well utilized to establish an alternate product.
moralvirus 2 years ago

BFG thoughts:
Sting beating AJ would be sickening.

Finding new talent isn't easy, but at least make a decent effort. ,FIRE RUSSO."Attitude" era is over.
vulrare 2 years ago

* CONTINUED *
... okay, no lie, some ex-WCW/WWE talent (I dislike using the term, WWE Reject.) were key in the development of TNA: Angle, Sting, Cage
However, the way they were booked, such as making Angle an unstoppable force for 2+ years, has really blocked TNA from going forward. Having big names is NOT a problem, it's just that developing your own names helps in a very big way... that's IF it was done right AT the right time.
ShellRun91 2 years ago
I'd like to know how you believe your fourth point...
TNA has made one original star...AJ styles...
Samoa Joe is Just like Tazz
Beer Money is exactly the same as APA
Abyss is a rip off of Undertake/Mankind.
Really...Please explain?
5b 2 years ago
Abyss is more a copy of Cactus Jack if anything. Abyss never has used superpowers like Taker I believe. APA were a protection agency. Beer Money is a merge of Storm's Drunk Cowboy and Roode's millionaire gimmicks. Joe is somewhat like Taz, but he has Taz as his manager these days. As long as the fans like someone, doesn't matter who they seem like. A star is a star.
Tucanforpres001 2 years ago
taz is no longer his manager i dont believe they have even hinted at all that this is still the case after taz took over announcing
necrotic43 2 years ago
Well technically he still is, but TNA have slowly phased that out.
Tucanforpres001 2 years ago
Beer money is exactly the same...
Storm, as you pointed out is the drunk cowboy. So is John Bradshaw Layfield. One half APA.
Roode Millionaire...just like John Bradshaw Layfield.
Okay, my bad. They both are unoriginal for ripping of two sides of the EXACT SAME PERSON because they can't develop their own characters...
And you agreed with the other two rip offs. No point in debating them.
Though, Joe was like Taz since he came in years ago. Taz just barely came in, was his manager for two week
5b 2 years ago
JBL never had the millionaire gimmick until AFTER APA split up
wwetnasux 2 years ago
That's actually not true.
He had it, but it was still sublte.
There was a gimmick back stage in the APA office (chair with a door that was on no wall, playing poker.)
Farooq asks JBL to buy some more beer. JBL asks why?.
Farooq says because you're the one with the million dollars.
So, yeah...he actually did.
And none the less he still stole his gimmick, and that's all that matters.
5b 2 years ago
Well you saying JBL stole Flair's gimmick, or Rude's gimmick. Keep going down the list. How about Ted Dibaise? They were millionaires before JBL were.
Tucanforpres001 2 years ago
You are trying to argue that BM are a ripoff of the APA which is completely retarded. So because JBL had two gimmicks that are similar to ones that Roode and Storm use that means BM are a ripoff, You never trying to show a simularity with Simmons. Now look, Roode is trying to be like Rick Rude. Storm is being himself. Storm is actually a drunk cowboy in real life. Characters are recycled. BM have gotten over with the guys being themselves mostly. Joe is a strong style type wrestler. No ripoff.
Tucanforpres001 2 years ago

ShellRun91 2 years ago
However, in WWE, the only "new" stars, since 2007, have been Punk & Jeff; BUT, even them 2 haven't been treated as "true" MEers (Lengthy title reigns, looking "strong" against the current MEers, etc.).
Other than them, WWE "holds back" big pushes from happening; okay, DiBiase and Morrison MAY have gotten victories against current MEers, but WWE didn't go anywhere with those victories. Instead, WWE just left them where they were. It "seems" like WWE lacks direction w/ character development.
ShellRun91 2 years ago
Jeff's major problem was always what was going on outside the ring as many people questioned him winning the title to begin with due to his tendency to screw up.
But what they did to Punk was inexcusable. They basically had their villain, their Darth Vader if you will, get beat by Obi-Wan Kenobi. It made absolutely no sense.
NYG4LIFE123 2 years ago
Styles didn't win on a fluke...he was a Russo swerve instead. :D
So much for thinking Morgan and/or Hernandez were going to be your next big runners for the strap, eh?
moralvirus 2 years ago
How was it a swerve win? How he won made sense. The only thing that didn't make sense was Morgan should've been pissed off about Sting not trying to break the pin.
Kuratras 2 years ago
How does it make sense when he wasn't in the title hunt picture with Morgan or Hernandez? The guy you would have thought would be going into tonight's show hunting for the title is now in a match that doesn't even feature the title, instead it's tangled up in a feud that didn't and had no reason to be caught up with the strap.
So yes, it is a Russo swerve. It's the very definition of a Russo swerve.
moralvirus 2 years ago
Hernandez and Morgan were already in a feud that was obviously gonna be continued throughout BFG so they obviously weren't going to win the title And the champion Angle at the time was feuding with Morgan so if Angle retained AJ wouldn't be in a title match at BFG So it was between AJ or Sting and people like you would complain about Sting getting the title over AJ And the way they had Sting let AJ get the pin made sense So TNA did something smart so give em credit
