Ehrgeiz is the game at the beginning. Brawlers and Roguelike's are two of my favorite games. Crimson Tears could be considered a brawler as it has that sort of combat system but I called it an Action-RPG because that is how GameFAQs classifies it. The only Roguelike element I can see in the game are the grid based play enviroments and those are common in plenty of other games.
Crimson Tears has its ups and downs. It was my first PS2 game, and I still haven't beaten it yet. I'm on and off with it because it gets boring after a while.
One question, what is that game in the beginning?
And to add Crimson Tears is a Beat'em up with Roguelike Elements.

And not an action RPG.
