For people who have routers, linksys or what have you, do you have any suggestions on how to change an ip address? I'm searching and all I can find is "to talk to your ISP provider" which isn't simple and easy at all. I do believe your method works, but since graboid tracks ip addys, and if your addy is static like mine is, what then??

If you have a router, you should chance the MAC address of the router. This will restart your router and you will be given a new IP address.

Check the WAN section of your router setting for a MAC Address page. You should see a 12-character serial that looks like this: 00-24-E9-F5-75-8F

All you have to do is change 1 of those characters (letter or number) and save the changes.

After your router restarts, you might need to unplug and replug-in your router/modem to get internet connection.

Okay, so I'm getting a picture of how to change the MAC address. On the example above there, instead of changing a letter or # can I just take away the dashes and that will change it? And second, do I have to edit the MAC addy to the new addy in the registry to complete the process, or can I omit changing it in the registry? And to change it back to the original hardware default, how to I do that outside of the registry, or does it have to be done in the registry?

Do I have to conduct all these changes on the main pc that directs the network, or can to do these changes on my personal pc when my pc is just connected to the area network, like my pc is upstairs and away from the router that's connected to the downstairs pc. ;-; I'm sure that sounded dumb, lol.

You can access and conduct the change of your router settings on any computer connected to your router. Just find the MAC Address page and change 1 # or letter and save it. That's all you need to do.

Nope. Graboid tracks the IP address of your internet connection. So even if you completely remove graboid from your system and reinstall it, it still won't work.

What you need to do is change your IP address. If you're connected through a router, you'll need to change your MAC address.

Try a bittorrent program like uTorrent. You don't even need to install it. bittorrents are undoubtedly the most used person2person system. There's a huge variety from hundreds of websites.

I don't know any other programs like Graboid... probably because what Graboid is doing is clearly illegal. There's arguments that bittorrent sites are illegally supplying copyright material, but the sites aren't holding anything on their servers but the torrent hash files which aren't copyrighted. Graboid IS keeping the copyright material on their own servers and giving it out for free (AND selling some of it). So graboid won't be like it is for much longer... so enjoy it while you can.

Hat's off to you sir well done, seems like an idea evolved from my own, only Graboid could possibly change their system of accessing Google thru their program, not sure if this can be done now in their database or if it has to implemented in future updates of the program 1.6, 1.7 etc if so it's back to using another windows account unless they decide to pull the plug on free trials, but how would they attract new customers??? Either way keep old versions of Graboid just to be sure :)

It still works. Your problem is that you've already created 5 accounts on the same IP. Search around youtube and google and you should find a tutorial of how to change your IP. It's a very easy and quick process.

Anyways I think it knows your IP. There has to be away to hide your IP address from it.
