I did live in Peterborough, Ontario for a while in '92 and '93 and came away with the desire to actually move there and BE a Canadian. Despite this incident, I guess I still do but it is not to be. I spend 25 years in the Canadian Armed Forces, and I had to deal with civilians from time to time under very difficult circumstances. The actions of Officer Bubbles, were simply unacceptable and unprofessional, if he had stopped complaining everyone would had forgotten the entire incident but this lawsuit that he is pursuing simply identifies how very little, or rather poor judgment he obviously displays on a day to day basis.

I have just discover images from G20, and this ugly story of bubbles. It made me cry. Just remind the face of the female officer in front beside officer Bubbles. It is clear that officer bubbles was on some sort of aggressive drug or anti-depressant to react this way. Perhaps too many steroids, but definitely he needs some Anger Management Therapy, this was not called for, the girl was blowing bubbles not harming anyone. This is Harper's idea of a Police State, and we must all become Egyptians, and fight his tyranny! He is a disgrace and should be voted out- once and for all. Police in the US don't even act this way!

I think that all officers should have to, yearly at the very least, undergo a surprise arrest and 24-hour detainment, just so that they can know and remember what it feels like. And the arrests should be as brutal as they are with non-law enforcement individuals. And this should be worldwide.

the officer alleged that the girl was committing assault to him, he obviously does not no the definition of the law he forced on that nice young women. I don't think blowing bubbles falls in to the category of violent or causing bodily harm.

I've we didn't know it before, freedom of speech in canada is conditional that our freedom meets the limits of the establishment. 1.When I was wearing uniforms I always tried to stay friendly towards every human being I interacted with. And believe me I was in situations with Palestinians in the west bank which makes the Toronto police officers challenges look like a walk in a park. I'm with you all the way on this. I'm a Brit living in the Philippines, where, so far, I have found the cops here to be very polite. I did live in Peterborough, Ontario for a while in '92 and '93 and came away with the desire to actually move there and BE a Canadian. Despite this incident, I guess I still do but it is not to be. Thus, I attach my support, such that it is.

I spend 25 years in the Canadian Armed Forces, and I had to deal with civilians from time to time under very difficult circumstances. The actions of Officer Bubbles, were simply unacceptable and unprofessional, if he had stopped complaining everyone would had forgotten the entire incident but this lawsuit that he is pursuing simply identifies how very little, or rather poor judgment he obviously displays on a day to day basis.
I am amazed that he has not been discipline for his actions

@osito021 Glad to hear from a REAL Armed Forces that DOES protect the people and respect people as human beings. Blair is protecting all his officers from prosecution. I'm also disgusted with him, too. It was likely his order to "do not engage" on the Black Bloc when there were more than enough officers surrounding them whilst they vandalized freely without any injuries. Were the 1900 officers afraid of 10 ppl? They had them then, why not engage?

What you have to remember is that all the police forces of the so called civilised world are acting in unison. Ketteling is used here in the UK as well as the USA. They are nothing less than a paramilitary force that doesn't allow human rights/freedoms to get in the way of their bigger agenda, that of not allowing any dissent to the governments of the day. I wonder how long it would be, if the marchers got the upper hand, before live ammunition would be used against their own citizens.

wow, what tactics. you can see the young girl talking to the smiling female officer when this officer bubbles character interrupts with intimidation and threats of arrest for blowing bubbles. you can see the female officer look at him like he's crazy and you see the girl visibly shaken as she put her bubbles away. He was obviously looking to provoke, making it a personal power trip, and he was losing control - just look at his breathing pattern. The officer behind was shaking his head as well.
