did they actually think people wouldnt recognize this 'westinghouse dealer'? He was an often seen character actor even then..Kinda kills the 'sincerity' angle, Desi...
the westinghouse guy played the director in the veta-vita-vegamin commercial lucy did. he was joe..."don't you think it's hot in here joe"? it's my favorite episode.
This is way too corny for my taste. At least on I Love Lucy, it seemed a little more natural (granted it was still slightly corny). This feels odd to watch because you know they weren't really like that...not even close.
This is just one big commercial for both Desilu Studioes and Westinghouse.
I'm pretty sure that if Lucille Ball wanted a few new appliances, she would be able to buy whatever she wanted without needing permission from Desi : ]
i wish they would have been themselves. i love their characters but it would have been nice to see what they were really like. you may as well have called them lucy ricky ethel and fred.
The Desilu studios were eventually sold many times over. It is now called 'The Culver Studios' (which you can Google). The back lot was torn down around 1976 and the sound stages are all still there. They are leased out to production companies.
Ok this is slightly confusing...knowing how Lucy Ricardo would act this is almost how she would handle thigs to get her way, but im not exaclty sure that Lucille Ball would do something that far-fethed...LOL makes a person think!! LOL♥♥
It's on the new "Lucy's REally Lost Moments" DVD. BTW, I just read that the new "I Love Lucy: The Complete Series" set has the first fully colorized episode, "Lucy Goes to Scotland." I'd buy it if I didn't already have all the individual seasons.
well I thought I did, then I realized that the Birdseye tour was edited. It went from when they leave the office to where they were geting out of the helicopter

If we had a president with the forethought that Desi had, this country would turn around fast!

Notice at 6:52 to 6:56 you can see the Tara Plantation from "Gone with the Wind."

Lucy mention in the movie that it is not quite 1961 yet so it may be in 1959 or 1960 and she was getting ready to divorce Desi.
It is also cool to see them out of character.
sdr1963 2 years ago
They don't seem to be out of character to me. They're still acting like Lucy and Ricky Ricardo.
