  • It seems so strange to see them in color. It's like watching new people! haha

  • Desi is so handsome

  • Vivian Vance & William Frawley didn't like each other in real life but they don't act like it here. William Frawley was an alcoholic

  • wait is this before i love lucy started?

  • How weird, w/ bill and vivian 'in character' but w/ their real names. Part Beverly Hills, part NYC!

  • did they actually think people wouldnt recognize this 'westinghouse dealer'? He was an often seen character actor even then..Kinda kills the 'sincerity' angle, Desi...

  • Desi and Lucy divorced after the Lucy Desi Comedy hour series

  • hahaha "Fred Mertz might be a tightwad but Bill Frawley isnt!"

  • yes it would be they act like themselves and it was not very funny really.

  • This is great color wow! The best colorization job i have ever seen!!

  • thanks for uploading :D makes me wanna see the lucy and desi home movie.

  • the westinghouse guy played the director in the veta-vita-vegamin commercial lucy did. he was joe..."don't you think it's hot in here joe"? it's my favorite episode.

  • @wntoply6 He played alot of different parts in i love lucy . him and desi were good friends.

  • This is way too corny for my taste. At least on I Love Lucy, it seemed a little more natural (granted it was still slightly corny). This feels odd to watch because you know they weren't really like that...not even close.

This is just one big commercial for both Desilu Studioes and Westinghouse.

  • Westinghouse we bring good things to light. * insert mushroom cloud here.

  • Yaaaaay! Vivian was soooo cute!!! :) Did this ever air on TV? When?

  • i wonder wat studio is it now

  • @RandinReya It's Paramount Pictures now. :)

  • @LucyDesi1951 It was initially the RKO studio on the west side of the lot (at Gower Street).

  • I'm pretty sure that if Lucille Ball wanted a few new appliances, she would be able to buy whatever she wanted without needing permission from Desi : ]

  • Im so used to seeing them in black and white.... This is trippy... o_O

  • Ladies and Gentleman, I present to you, from about 6:20 to about 6:44, the town of Mayberry, North Carolina!

  • i wish they would have been themselves. i love their characters but it would have been nice to see what they were really like. you may as well have called them lucy ricky ethel and fred.

  • I know! I was thinking the same thing! they are acting as though it's "I Love Lucy"- I want to know what they're really like with each other!

  • Ethel And Fred actually hated each other

  • ...and on this video all they do is hang out with each other. So weird...

  • @alexandshady no! vivian didnt want her husband to that old. they really became good friends!

  • naww they hated eachother i've read evry book on the I Love Lucy show, and evry book about the cast members.

  • @alexandshady well.. i guess i heard wrong. iam sorry!

  • @hawkeyelover3455 hahah itz all qud man:)

  • @alexandshady ok! ahahah! :)

  • mmkay:)

  • @alexandshady

Actually Fred and Ethel had more of love-hate relationship

  • Notice at 6:52 to 6:56 you can see the Tara Plantation from "Gone with the Wind."

  • Lucy mention in the movie that it is not quite 1961 yet so it may be in 1959 or 1960 and she was getting ready to divorce Desi.

It is also cool to see them out of character.

  • They don't seem to be out of character to me. They're still acting like Lucy and Ricky Ricardo.

  • The Desilu studios were eventually sold many times over. It is now called 'The Culver Studios' (which you can Google). The back lot was torn down around 1976 and the sound stages are all still there. They are leased out to production companies.

  • From Wikipedia-

"Currently, the latest show now being taped at Ren-Mar is the MTV show, FNMTV Premieres, hosted by Pete Wentz from Fall Out Boy."

    Weird What It Is Now!

  • it is now called Ren-Mar Studios

  • It's so wonderful to see this in color!

  • I did'nt know that the david selznick studios ended up being the desilu Studios.Interesting!

  • Ok this is slightly confusing...knowing how Lucy Ricardo would act this is almost how she would handle thigs to get her way, but im not exaclty sure that Lucille Ball would do something that far-fethed...LOL makes a person think!! LOL♥♥

  • What year was this?

  • it was 1958...:)

  • hold on why would vivian and william have lunch together when they hated eachother

  • At that point, it wasn't public knowledge that Bill and Viv didn't like each other.

  • why did they hate eachother????

  • Thanks for the birds-eye view of Mayberry!

  • Did I see the set for Tara from Gone With the Wind when the flew over in the helicopter?

  • It's on the new "Lucy's REally Lost Moments" DVD. BTW, I just read that the new "I Love Lucy: The Complete Series" set has the first fully colorized episode, "Lucy Goes to Scotland." I'd buy it if I didn't already have all the individual seasons.

  • Was this a colorization made by Legend Films?

  • Yes, but this detracts from the quality because it was posted with a camcorder.

  • I have this on vhs in black & white.

  • well I thought I did, then I realized that the Birdseye tour was edited. It went from when they leave the office to where they were geting out of the helicopter

  • he did

  • yes.

  • wow thanks.

  • Ethel was fine. Everyone else looks old.

  • yes
