Uhm...You don't need a golden watering can, and you don't even need to water trees. Plant the money tree near a river *not to close though* and far enough from a tree to grow.

the strategy guide lied to me D: according to the strategy guide, it doesn't matter how much you burry, you get an equal chance. so I've been burying only 100 bells at a time, and I've never gotten a money tree ever. also according to the strategy guide, each bag is only 100 bells each and it does re-grow...

@CinnamonWithATwist yeah you need to bury at least 10,000 bells to get a money tree, but you really should bury more cuz 10,000 bells=a 1% chance of it growing into a money tree, and up to 100,000 100% of it growing into a money tree. and you also need to use the golden shovel, which you get by bying 2 regular shovels, and burying one of them, digging it up a day later, and you have the golden shovel :P

You DO need a golden shovel. You don't need the Golden Watering Can. If you need a golden shovel, all you have to do is bury a regular shovel with another shovel and wait 1 day then bring it back up. It will be a golden shovel (exactly 24 hours have to pass)

to get the watering can (which you do not need) you just have to have a perfect town for 15 days

you dont have to buy a gold shovel. its really easy to get one. all you need is 2 normal shovels, and you bury one shovel and i think you dig it up 4 days later and it'll be golden.
