I totally get what you mean.

Dana's story was probably the most well written. It made the show more realistic because you saw the difficulties she faced: the coming out, the denial, the way she had to deal with it while balancing out a career.

It's such a shame that they had to cut it short like that, her journey was so rich. Short and sweet, but it'd be nicer if it was longer.

I think part of what makes the l word so good is that it's more than just a show about lesbian sex and stuff like that. it's about love and life and friends. there are a lot of very strong elements to it that I never thought about before I started watching it. for example, there is constantly a strong plot line. secondly, there is superb acting.

but then again, i'm gay so i'm slightly biased i guess.
