I always come back to this video. So great. Just get lost for a few minutes and that's what music is for. You come back to reality with a sense of meaning.
I wanted to add a short story. I was turned onto this music by two of the 5 in this band who are Barnabus Jones and Alynda Lee who were traveling buskers with The Dead Man Street Orchestra at the time 2006. I was an engineer for Union Pacific and I was befriended by them upon meeting at the old Roseville catch out under the oak. I rode with them to Dunsmuir and that's all it took, I got something in my system I can't get out, fortunately I have no intention to.
They recorded the album “Where’s corey?” which can be downloaded for free at spaz dot org. When they returned from the trip they brought me a copy which I bumped in the cab of my locomotive over many long trips over the rail exposing many of my conductors to what sort of magic might actually be happening in several boxcars back. I remember them playing buba mara, my feet dangling out the door, cold sierra nevada pale ale in hand, autumn sunset
That trip changed my life in many ways and I eventually left my career as an engineer and hopped a train with J. Alone (Best conductor you could pick to share a 48’s well with you) out to Chicago, I left solo towards New Orleans and I was greeted by Alynda and Barnabus on Decatur street upon my arrival. They took me in and gave me a place to stay for a solid 2 months, I owe them a LOT and I hope they know how strong of an effect their music and personalities have on people.
I know they formed this group around summer of 2007 and played voodoo fest in New Orleans in the fall. I'll work on trying to remember my account details for once and hopefully I can get any groups or projects they've worked on since this posted there for easier access.
I originally recorded this video on a sony DSC-H10 which is just a digital camera, not at all ideal equipment for a video but it's all I had and I'm glad these guys put up with me and my camera for the two months or so I was there in New Orleans. My original account Sanctimoniouskid, I forgot the pswd so I made sanctimoniouskid2 which........I ALSO forgot the pswd so here I am third account. This song and the other two are great, I wish I had more to share.
i love alynda in HFTRR, but man the double banjo, lead rhythm thing. i wish i had more than just the several songs they have on youtube. i've followed different bands of theirs through various states, but still haven't made it to NOLA. one of the few states i haven't been to yet. baltimore needs this more.
I would assume Alynda, Jesse, or Stix would still have copies of them. They are found on myspace as (hurray for the riff raff) (stalker texas ranger) and (my graveyard jaw).
My cousin Seabastian A.K.A. "Stuck" turned me on to this movie and if you could wear out youtube videos i'd have this one on its last leg, cuz i play it at least once a visit to youtube, i really like ragtime style especially if its got that special ramble....
more power to the artists and may the road bring them everything under the sun....

@SanctimoniousKid
My Graveyard Jaw (Stix) has mainly his own music on myspazz. It might be on the others' pages, though.
This is rather refreshing, and thanks for the upload. I haven't seen these kids in years.
